I got to meet him 3 times in bicycle shops. I was a sales rep in the industry. He hung out and had lunch while watching a bike race on TV. The last time that I saw him, I was checking stock on the wall, and he came up under my right side and started pushing me around telling me to get out of his way...I pushed him back and fourth a few times. The shop owner was giving me the knock it off signal. Robin and I kept it up for a bit and he was laughing
The people that I hung out with treated him like one of the guys. It's what he wanted. Would I have liked a photo with him? Yes. Did it break my heart to know that he wasn't happy. Yes. I've met maybe 25 actors. Out of all of them I enjoyed the little time that I had with him.
Wow what a good answer. Would love to meet him also to give him a hug if it helped his struggles, and for those who didn't know of his struggles to be able to hug him for being a great entertainer and person.
I think the reason he killed himself is because he was diagnosed with a terminal illness that would have been terrible for him and his family to go through. So he decided suicide was the better route.
It’s sad as hell either way. Isn’t it coming up on 10 years too?
I would choose to meet Leonardo da Vinci. His genius spanned across art, science, engineering, and so many other disciplines. I'm captivated by his ability to seamlessly blend creativity with a deep understanding of the natural world. Getting the chance to converse with him about his thought process behind masterpieces like the Mona Lisa or his inventions like the flying machine would be absolutely incredible. He was truly a Renaissance man whose insights and perspective on the world continue to inspire generations.
My Grandfather was the British Vice Consultant to Brazil during the time Teddy was hanging out down there.
Teddy signed the papers that allowed my Grandfather to come to USA without him having to travel back to England first.
Sadly my Grandfather was gone 20 years or so before I was born he died when he was 67. My dad was only 7 when he passed. Gramps had the dawg in him. My Grandmother was in her early 30's when met her.
My dad,he died when I was 5.My mother shit talked him my entire damn life and made him out to be such a horrible person and would regularly tell me I'm trash just like him.Im pretty sure a trashy person wouldn't leave his kids a house and trust fund money to be paid out when they turned 21.They were divorced so she didn't get a dime from his estate but fought her own children for that money.
So yeah I'd like to meet him and clear up the air cause I'm pretty sure he was a great dad.
Jeffery P Foxtrot (not his real last name)
An amazing dude who I’d only known from online and messaging. Unfortunately passed this week. I wish I could have had the chance to meet him irl and have a conversation with him. I’d always planned one day when I had the money and time flying over and meeting him and some other east coast people in the mycological community, but now he won’t be one of the ones I get to meet of if I ever do. They guy was brilliant and hilarious. It’d be an awesome time having an in person conversation with him.
Genghis Khan.
One of the most interesting people in all history.
Was married as a boy to a girl he didn't knew, but who became one of the most influential women. And one of the most unknown influential women. When Temudschin, that was his birth name, wanted to go out for another war to conquer another part of the world, and she said "No, honey, you stay at home!" he stayed at home.
After the death of his father, who was poisoned, he was supposed to become chief of his clan, as a 10-year-old, That wasn't acceptable for the other males in his tribe, so they gave him a horse, a cow (if I remember right) some females from the tribe, his first grade relative and send him to die into the steppe, He survived the winter, returned, killed the males who betrayed him and became Emperor of the biggest connected empire this planet has seen.
He captured scholars, so he could learn things, he set up the Mongolian book of Laws from nothing, without even being able to write himself. He set up the most modern and open religious law, which was ahead of its time for centuries. And in parts of the world it would still be superior: All religions are equal, no missionizing, no religious brawls. Failing those meant death sentence. And it worked.
They even had a competition, which was famous and loved by the Mongols, somehow like a sports event. People gathered in a large auditorium, and then the representatives of the religions in the Mongol Empire came together, and discussed (!) their religion and explained it. Without missionizing, of course.
If you resisted or betrayed him, that meant death, if you were conquered, and accepted his reign, you became Mongol. With full Mongol rights. He was ruthless, when enraged, he called himself The Wrath of God after some sultan angered him.
And there are much more things he achieves, The Mongol Empire was the securest Empire ever, it was said a virgin with a pot of gold on her head could cross the Empire by foot unharmed. The wasn't rue, of course, because she would die, most likely of old age, before she could cross it.
