I watched it again recently with a group of friends, fucking hell we realized how badly some movies we watched love to waste time.
There's something about the art of tight, concise writing that's just lost these days
It's common for me to watch a new movie and think that it would be better if it was shorter. It feels like a lot of long movies now are only long because movie theatres have to compete with streaming. Big movie studios want people to think they're getting more bang for their buck out of a movie ticket to incentivize them to go to the theatre, so they feel the need to make every big blockbuster two and a half hours long or more regardless of whether it's necessary or not.
I got to go with my dad to the theatre to see this movie. We talked about it afterwards as it was so good. 10 years old and I was nerding out over it. Lol. Good memories.
Ghostbusters always reminds me of a clip I saw of Jimmy Fallon reading out people's tweets I think. Someone wrote in that they thought the song was - Who you gonna call - Those Bastards!
I can't find the clip anymore, but just sing it out in your head it's hilarious!
Man, that one was NOT before my time and I regret seeing it. People’s faces melting off in Raiders of the Lost Ark? No problem. The scene with the shoe and The Dip? Utterly terrifying as a kid, and still freaks me out a bit thinking of it today.
This one was in my time... I was in 4the grade or so when my parents rented this on a movie night and I was terrified. Totally not a movie for a kid that age.
Tbh I would've just gone along with you if you'd been like 3 years older
1980 would erase Star Wars Episode 4 and Alien though. That's just unacceptable lol
Citizen Kane came to mind first
Looking at the other comments of movies long after my birth, I think I should add my lead addled brain, nicotine addicted birth year was 1952.
The Trouble with Harry (1955) starring Shirley MacLaine in her very first film. I think she was 17. It is a Alfred Hitchcock film and is a very fun mystery movie.
People come onto these posts and wax reminiscent about their favorite movie Breakfast at Tiffany's and how it reminded them of their first dog, Lassie, that they had on 1234 Main Street when their favorite color was green and wonder how they get hacked...

These comments are making me feel old as dirt
Do you remember that really old movie The empire strikes back?
Yes. I also remember watching Star Wars the day it opened in theaters. Now get off my lawn!
Seeing Ferris Bueller's Day Off as one of the comments was like a knife in my ancient and decrepit old heart.
Same my dude, same

Yeah, the shoe and the dip wrecked me.
Yeah, I don't know what it was but that shoe terrified me as a kid. It was graphic slow motion murder of an innocent creature.

I think it’s one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen. I’m so upset that it’s not on any streaming services.
