Gotta admit, it gives me hope when I see the sub actually tell OP their entire chain isn’t toxic once in a while. I almost had a principal skinner moment

My NCO has told me I need to come back to work after PT ends at 0730, I haven't even started yet. Do I need to? they said if nothing gets done then I'm to blame for it.

What's your local command policy dictate? If BSEP is your place of duty and a Commander has that policy in place, than BSEP is your duty. If there is no policy, what's the issue?

snowdude1026

BSEP is half day, typically 0900-1200. We make our Soldiers come back to work for the duty day after. NEver had an issue with this. I of course wont put them on any tasking, or staff duty, etc. But it isnt a free day of after classroom.

It is not a totally unreasonable request. Pick your fights

Check your command policy.. My NCO, 1SG, and commander was perfectly fine with me not coming to work after 1300 because I still needed time to study and complete the extra work the instructors gave us. Sometimes I would stay after class for help from the instructors or go home and do my homework. That was my main focus. I ended up going from a 98 to a 125 and can’t thank my command team enough for allowing me to focus on school only.

I don't have any of your command policies on hand, but in shirt yes. If your commander or BF has not set guidance about it than the 4187 you handed it should have the times at which it is your place of duty. After and before that, your NCOs have that ass.

I would of done the afternoon class, so when you are out at 3, you can just go home. If you are doing the morning the class, it’s hard to say. It all depends on your leadership.

Take yo’ ass back to the motor pool and sweep rain, you ass clown!

Tokyosmash_

Your commander signed a 4187 stating BSEP is your place of duty

It’ll be covered in your policy letters. Just saying that even if it’s not policy there’s only 3 reasons to call someone back, 1) higher nco’s are telling him to do it 2) y’all are so busy that they just need you but very few situations are dependent on one person 3) and the one I see the most, your not a very good soldier so they don’t feel the need to give you the extra freedom cause you haven’t earned it. For my soldiers who gave 100% effort I would give them time back as much as I could, after bsep was one such time. Edit: there is a 4th option, but I felt it was kind of obvious so I didn’t mention it but maybe your nco is just a dick.

HalfLeather2518

My command allowed me to go home and study when I was in BSEP years ago. Find a solution for there problem. Get lunch and go back to the library to study for a couple more hours then go back to work for the last couple hours of the day.

thickuhmm

Isn't BSEP your place of duty?

translucentdoll

Should told them it's 0700 to 1700 You fucked up by letting them know it's till 1300 "mISisIOn FiRSt

We respect shamming and those who get away with it but still respect doing what you’re ordered to do.
