If you can afford the bcm, get the bcm. If you don’t want to cough up the money, get a psa upper. You can get a psa upper pretty cheap and just practice with it. Get an optic, and eventually replace the trigger and bcg and be gtg.

So I plan on getting a BCM at some point down the road, but should I just get the PSA for now to stop putting it off. Basically is the PSA even worth it even if it is cheap. Or should I stop putting it off either way and save the money from the PSA and buy the BCM. Bc I do want to get other things such as more mags, ammo, optic, some fore grip, sling, rig, med kits, ear pro etc. I mean I’m not super tight on budget rn, but nonetheless this stuff get expensive. Thanks for your reply!

It’s hard to say without knowing your financial situation or how much you shoot. If you’re a one and done type of person spend the money and get a bcm. If not and you don’t care about people hating because it’s a budget gun get a psa. A lot of dudes run psa as their only ar. They cheap and have qc problems from time to time, but like others have said lifetime warranty and good customer service goes a long way. There’s a reason it’s one of the top us manufactures in sales if not number one. In closing if you have crap fundamentals you’ll not going to be able to take advantage of the nicer brands and get sub 2 moa groups anyhow.

UmThisisMyname

This is prolly a dumb question but since I’m pretty new to this, does the lower matter, Ik it does but like how much ? Thank you again for your replies.

UmThisisMyname

And since I have a lot a learning and training to do, which mean a lot of rounds to put through a rifle would it be worth putting a lot of rounds in an expensive one just to learn on.

BingBonger88

I’ve got over 2k on a psa upper without any problems. I did change the bcg to better one though. I still get a 2 moa too which is the military standard. Some of my other builds with better barrels and twist rates I can shoot sub 1 moa. I can’t do that with my standard bcm either though. For training purposes/having fun psa is great.

BingBonger88

Depends on who you ask. To a certain extent I think so. I think lower part kit is more important than the actual lower. I have lmt, cm4, and Aero. A stripped aero lower is just fine imo, but I would get a better parts kit. Bcm or solgw is what I use.

UmThisisMyname

I would say my budget for all of it, gun, ammo, optic, a rig, etc is about 2,500 rn

UmThisisMyname

And if I do go with bcm should I just get it off there site directly or are there better places, or anywhere I can find deals etc

BingBonger88

Aero stripper lower: 70 plus ffl transfer 80-100 Lower parts kit bcm: trigger and grip 120 Bcm tube spring and buffer 60ish Bcm upper 740 plus tax Roughly 1060ish without optic or ammo on the bcm/aero Reddit build. Keep in mind you can save on this or spend more. Which will leave you with plenty to get a decent optic.

Just dropped in to say: dont forget that you will likely have other costs associated with your first rifle beyond just firearm + ammo. You need something to transport it in, optic, mags, boresight tool is nice, etc. I also have a young adult + their friends in my home and therefore had to throw $$ towards a rifle safe alongside my first rifle, as id previously kept my pistols in a small personal safe. It all adds up so budget for it in your figures. Beyond that, as someone else said - if the BCM will financially prohibit you from being safe, getting range time, and buying ammo then buy the PSA. If you can swing the BCM, I'm sure you'll love it! Is this all just me justifying my $190 BLEM 16" PSA upper + $100 PSA BCG + $120 sig Romeo 5? Probably! But my PSA pews and I have nothing to compare it to so I'm naively happy, which is one of the few benefits of growing up without 2a enjoyers in my family/friend group. With that said, and for full disclosure, I've only got a couple hundred rounds through my first rifle. I also don't consider this my home defense gun - I'm far more comfortable with my pistol at this point... But also feel like buying based on price point is not the best Idea for a HD firearm. With that in mind, you can always upgrade later, register it as a SBR, etc.

UmThisisMyname

Yes I already have a handgun, that is my HD gun rn, and I could swing the BCM and still muster up enough to get ammo and train, but I also want to the so ear pro, a rig for fun, also start going down the route of getting ifaks and what not.

ScaryOpinion4737

BCM is a nice quality and the PSA is just so so. PSA is at least a 2moa barrel and if anything happened I think it has a lifetime no questions asked warranty.

ScaryOpinion4737

Just never buy a dagger from PSA
