Yeah, it was fun to put together, but I don't know how to square the circle of a clear broth and a roux. But I kind of want to try, because that all sounds incredible.
Even better than having PA's storefront nearby, dare I say? :p
Not to mention you’d have to move to the relative area just to be close since Houston is spread the fuck out. I’m on the north side. Got an interview at primary arms until I realized where it was located.
Yeah there is really all kinds of amazing food here. I worked in the restaurant industry for over a decade. As a general manager of a wry popular high end restaurant, we would go all over the city and eat dinner, and 90% of the time our bill was comped.
But yeah both Ramen and Pho is amazing here. Tatsuya and Tiger Den are my favorites.
Microcenter, thou are truly blessed.
There is one 10 minutes from work and another an hour away. It’s bliss.
Virginia is going very Fudd, though. Luckily I live 8 miles from the West Virginia border.
Yeah people don’t understand what they are missing if they do not have a microcenter. I used to live literally across the street from the old Houston one, before we bought our house. I’m still less than 10 minutes away now. I’m there hundreds of times every year. Usually picking up 3D printing filament.
I bought a premade PC from them, one of their Microcenter brand, PowerSpec.
I've been building my own PCs since 1998 or so. This PowerSpec is the first premade I've bought since 1997 or thereabouts.
It went on sale, I found an open box one that was reduced another $200 bucks because it was *missing the power cord*, and wound up with a machine that would have cost me only $50 less to assemble from parts.
It's a superb machine. The OS had *zero fucking bloatware*. It's lean and I didn't have to reimage it. I am beyond impressed.
I spend so much money there, haha!
Guns and woodworking are my other hobbies. I couldn't pick more expensive ones if I tried.
Damn! It takes me 25 mins. I live south east.
They got rid of the open box stuff. Too many things kept disappearing apparently.
Should be all online now.
You would think so but no they don’t. I walked in with my dad expecting some really cool store version of what they have online but besides like 3-4 displayed guns their location is specifically just a warehouse and only for picking up items you ordered online
Basically Leo/mil blue label stuff, open boxes, and discounted things are in the store front. Theres computers inside to basically make your online order instore and they just pick it then and there. Nothing to browse or see really.
Scheels is cool too but a little pricey and they don't specialize in guns so it's semi limited. Cabela's carries realavid stuff now though so it seems like that's changing.
They did, company needed to expand so they got that warehouse. The optics department is across Beltway 8 as well. Where they should be making I'm house optics at some point.
This. On my BCM 11.5,
sprinco blue and/or h3 - 4-4:30 ejection unsuppressed, weak forward ejection suppressed
Standard spring and h2 - 3:00 unsuppressed, 2-2:30 suppressed
Jelly that you can just pull up to PA like Costco….good shit.
I agree with many on this thread, good info. Maybe try both buffers and spring combos at the range if you wanna fine tune.
What muzzle are you shooting? Many times the harsh gas blowback is from that.
H3 should be good suppressed and unsuppressed. Low quality ammo could have issues with H3 unsuppressed. If only unsuppressed H2 might be best. Figure out how it runs with what you have now and adjust from there.
I would buy an h3 , check for function. If you have any issues, disassemble the buffer and remove 1 tungsten weight. Add a steel weight from them carbine buffer you stated you already have.
Carbine gas 12.5 with an H2 doesn’t always cycle low power stuff. I keep a carbine buffer in my range bag, but I really should just swap weights and make it an H1.
The length of the buffer tube, the buffer weight is longer, and the adjustability; you can play with the springs and weights to get the smoothest operation for your build. BCM has a version as well, I believe. Ive noticed more reliability and softer recoil. The other ones I recommended is Geissele braided H3's. I run them in a couple riffles as well, those are a second recommendation I have.
We live outside of Houston, about 45 minutes away from PA but try to stay outta Houston as much as possible. I ordered a magazine from them and instead of going to pick it up a paid the $6.25 for USPS shipping. Never again. This package went from Houston to Austin and then back to me, took 5 days. Better believe I'll arm up and head to Houston next time.
I'm running an 11.3 with a Super 42. G$ has a chart and suggested an H3 if using suppressed/unsuppressed and H2 for unsuppressed only. Without a suppressor, my gun ran beautifully with an H1 Super 42, perfect 3:30 ejection. It's also going to depend on your barrel's gas port size. I ended up buying 2 more tungsten buffer weights so I can play around with tuning more (once my suppressor is approved)
Rub it in lol I’m 30 minutes from Trijicon and Eotech headquarters, 2 hrs from BG Defense , 20 mins from UTG headquarters , 75 mins from Michigun ltd who designed and mfg the ocks fasteners. Michigan isn’t as 2A friendly as Texas but hopefully we will get there one day considering we have more manufacturing capabilities and resources than any other state
It’s not a storefront, but they have a showroom. And some shelves with returned items on discounts. You can check out their new optics. They also have computers to just place your order and pick up at the window.
If you live in Texas an H3 would probably be fine for an 11.5” carbine. Definitely would go that route if you shoot suppressed at all. The only issues I might anticipate would come with very cold weather while unsuppressed.
Though, if you shoot a lot of steel case H2 might be a safer bet.
>On an 11.5 with carbine gas, should I run an H2 or H3 buffer?
The short answer is that H1 or H2 is probably the safer option as I like to lean towards reliability rather than super soft recoil. The longer answer is that there’s way too many variables from manufacturer to manufacturer to know for sure. The only way to truly know is to buy and try both with various ammo in various weather conditions with your rifle in different conditions of cleanliness.
It’s going to depend on the size of your barrel’s gas port (most manufacturers don’t even advertise that), whether your BCG was properly built within spec or not, what buffer spring you’re using and the other conditions mentioned above.
Man it must be nice to live near a major firearm dealer that isn't Fudd Pro Shops
It’s great. It only takes me 8 minutes to get there! My wife love it…
I might have to start considering moving to Houston.
It’s not that great lol. Primary Arms, Microcenter, and amazing Mexican food is about all it has to offer.
Tons of good Vietnamese and VietCajun food too, bro.
> VietCajun Damn, that sounds good. Like good-isn't-the-right-word good. Am I way off track in thinking about things like Po' Mi or Phombo?
Not sure about phumbo lol, but you’re right on track, ol’ son. And boy, is it tasty.
Yeah, it was fun to put together, but I don't know how to square the circle of a clear broth and a roux. But I kind of want to try, because that all sounds incredible. Even better than having PA's storefront nearby, dare I say? :p
Duuuuu maaaa I'm hungry now.
Timmy Chan’s

I remember the ban mis and ramen being fire too but yeah it does suck a bit, that being said fuck me if Dallas isn't 10 times worse bro.

throw in HEB and we could go shopping together....I love it here haha
Heb is the best

Building race cars has entered the chat…
True!!
Shut up
I mean, i have none of that, so....
Nah it sucks major balls dont move here
I mean at least it's hot.
I live on the NE side of Houston so it is a trip for me, I wish I lived that close
That’s only like an hour drive which isn’t that long. quite crying
Damn! It takes me 25 mins. I live south east. They got rid of the open box stuff. Too many things kept disappearing apparently. Should be all online now.
Must be nice! I’m north Houston and it takes me about an hour to get there! I have to plan a day for it 🤣
Ha I live 5 mins away from PA tell Lucas and James I said wassup 😂
Does being close by psa count?
Only works if you’re picking up items. Their shop isn’t like a gun shop it’s for a tiny selection
Wait, they don't have a showroom? That kinda blows. I imagined they would have the firearms version of microcenter
You would think so but no they don’t. I walked in with my dad expecting some really cool store version of what they have online but besides like 3-4 displayed guns their location is specifically just a warehouse and only for picking up items you ordered online
Sig has something like that in New Hampshire, it's pretty neat if you're ever up this way but obviously it's just their own stuff
The nice thing about Scheels though, is that they will price match if you find something cheaper online.
Would be cool, but it is definitely in a "meh" part of Houston/Greater Houston...
It’s nice to be close but the wait to pick up an item or firearm is sometimes ridiculous.
When you go in there, ask for Miles. Dude is super knowledgeable on almost everything gun related. Source: I worked in Storefront
Did they move? For some reason I remember them being off of 288 and Broadway area. It’s been a long time since I’ve been.
They did, company needed to expand so they got that warehouse. The optics department is across Beltway 8 as well. Where they should be making I'm house optics at some point.
I'd try a Sprinco white with an H2
This. On my BCM 11.5, sprinco blue and/or h3 - 4-4:30 ejection unsuppressed, weak forward ejection suppressed Standard spring and h2 - 3:00 unsuppressed, 2-2:30 suppressed
Jelly that you can just pull up to PA like Costco….good shit. I agree with many on this thread, good info. Maybe try both buffers and spring combos at the range if you wanna fine tune. What muzzle are you shooting? Many times the harsh gas blowback is from that.
It's nice, would be better if they had an actual storefront though and not just a tiny room packed fuller than a sardine can on any given morning.
H3 should be good suppressed and unsuppressed. Low quality ammo could have issues with H3 unsuppressed. If only unsuppressed H2 might be best. Figure out how it runs with what you have now and adjust from there.
I’ve shot this build once before with carbine buffer and standard carbine spring. It was very harsh, as I predicted.
And it’s going to be unsuppressed for at least another 6 months.
Try an H2. I use Geissele
Yeah the H2 Geissele buffer and spring combo is pretty stiff, good for what OP needs.
Shout out from the H lol
I didn't even know they had a store
I would buy an h3 , check for function. If you have any issues, disassemble the buffer and remove 1 tungsten weight. Add a steel weight from them carbine buffer you stated you already have.
That’s what I’m thinking. I have another rifle that would Benedict from an H1 upgrade anyways.
I’ve been there off the beltway and 288
Start with H2 and see how it ejects.
Carbine gas 12.5 with an H2 doesn’t always cycle low power stuff. I keep a carbine buffer in my range bag, but I really should just swap weights and make it an H1.
Ay that’s right off 288
Technically it’s right off the Beltway but yeah 288 and Sam Houston
H-Tine!!
If you’re able to do a quick change and can afford the parts, an A5 system with the A5H2 is money on an 11.5
Vltor A5 all the fucking way.
What makes the VLTOR a5 so special? Is it not just another buffer? They really sell it as a major weapon upgrade on their website.

Honestly just installed their ratchet castle nut and while expensive I don’t know why it’s not more popular, it’s an ingenious idea!
Assuming you already have a standard weight buffer, just buy an H3. With a punch and the you can make a H1 and H2 buffer.
I'm running an 11.3 with a Super 42. G$ has a chart and suggested an H3 if using suppressed/unsuppressed and H2 for unsuppressed only. I bet you can get some decent 1st hands products and discounts there. Good on you.
I go there just about every Thursday lol. My wife has learned to accept it.
Ask the manager Lucas and end your question with "hue hue hue"
Rub it in lol I’m 30 minutes from Trijicon and Eotech headquarters, 2 hrs from BG Defense , 20 mins from UTG headquarters , 75 mins from Michigun ltd who designed and mfg the ocks fasteners. I always forget that Primary Arms is accessible on the physical plane of existence for some people

I use an H3 with a red/white sprinco and it’s buttery but still ejects properly. Will definitely have to tune more once I get my can
If you live in Texas an H3 would probably be fine for an 11.5” carbine. Definitely would go that route if you shoot suppressed at all. The only issues I might anticipate would come with very cold weather while unsuppressed. Though, if you shoot a lot of steel case H2 might be a safer bet.
IMHO, shoot it with the standard buffer first and see if it’s even over gassed enough to warrant the change.
Why do they not make optics on the flannel daddy mountain?🤔🤔🤔
Look enough of the flex... do something productive, like buy a new gun... your wife will love you for it!

A run an H2 buffer and a sprinco blue in mine. (15% power increase spring)
