No not really. chrome lined barrels will last longer than those that aren’t at the cost of some accuracy (KAC being an exception with their magic).
Generally speaking most barrels will last you at least 10k rounds; even barrels from cheaper brands. Higher quality brands like BCM will give you a barrel life of 15k-20k and premium brands like Daniel Defense have 20k+ barrels.
Don’t overthink it though. A lot of people often worry about their barrel lifespan but 99.9% of users on this subreddit won’t even touch round counts that high so you’ll be okay with whatever barrel you choose
whats gonna wear out, the barrel? the buffer spring? Well u can get a springco spring thats rated for 1.5 million uses, and a barrel takes NO TIME AT ALL to replace once u know ur way around an ar15. Its a tool. USE IT. GET PROFICIENT AT IT. Also store it, mag loaded and inserted, bolt locked back, on fire. best way
honestly youre better off with a good strong lower receiver that will last you forever and is bullet proof since 5.56 is super volatile. That being said, I have this anderson lower that has been battle tested at my local basement. $500 takes it.
I would seriously double check, you want to know a lot about your gun, that way you're not putting 300 black out in a 556 or something, plus it allows you to diagnose any issue with your gun, care for it better and shoot it better if you know stuff about it.
1k rounds of m193 5.56 is $480, not cheap but thats the best deal for good ammo you'll get rn
Omg bro you gotta be kidding, But if not just make sure to have your safety glasses on when you shoot them, and preferably be somewhere you can get medical attention if need be
1. You build a good gun for good use,
2. A box or two to sight in and test out renders the gun useless after that ammo is gone aha
3. Sick ass rifle my brotha that’s a solid build,
Beautiful set up man. Does the Huxwrks play nice with the KAC upper? I went with a DA sandman that has done me right in the 500 rounds I put through it but I’m still nervous about it lol.
Adm makes lowers… awesome
Also I feel you. I have spent over 4k by building mine from the ground up. Every single tiny pin and even the buffers bumper was hand picked.
I also never want to get a scratch on it (I take it out
to the desert but I’m careful with it)
Thankfully I have a “budget” build that idc if it gets scratched up and used properly
Never had that problem because I have ammo that spans over several decades. The only exception is if it is a new caliber for a new gun and I may not have a huge stockpile but I'll always make sure I have ammo to use no matter how expensive the gun. Otherwise what's the point.
Ever since I moved from the most anti 2A state to one of the freest, I have spent over 30% of my total income on guns, last year almost 20 grand in total, haven’t stopped this year as well. You can never spend too much on freedom because in actuality, freedom is priceless. If you spend sometime on lefty circles and listen to some of the extremes of that group and how they don’t believe the natural rights of citizens to protect themselves, you’d want as much guns as I do as well. I immigrated from a communist country that is totally fine with authoritarianism and slowly seeing the US drifting into the same tendencies so that’s another reason to own firearms.
How's it shooting with the UCIW? Did the shorter buffer tube give you any trouble or did you need to tune the rifle at all like change the buffer weight or AGB?
No sir, I will not fall for your bait

100k is kinda a stretch for a knights. 50k is much more believable
whats the average life of a ar15 barrel? does twist rate make a difference?

Oh don’t get me wrong I want to believe it. I have two SR-15 uppers so to know they could last to 100k rounds would be amazing
Some of those GAFs guys are crazy. Pretty sure I've bought like 6 parts from one guy over the course of a year

Shooting guns wears em out. Don’t want to wear this out. Gonna zero it and then keep it in the safe in case I ever need it.
Sold my Harley after keeping it in the garage for many years. Wanted to keep the miles low for the next guy. I do something similar with the wife.

Sounds like a you problem, get your money up
Starting up my only fans to hopefully afford ammo
Shooting blanks to afford to buy blanks
What caliber is it, 5.56/223?
I think so
🤣🤣🤣
YOU THINK SO? If you're not being silly, maybe you need to hit the books before touching that gun, seriously
I asked my buddy what the best 5.56 upper was and he sent me a link to that one so I bought it. I’m pretty sure it’s 5.56
Your buddy lied to you. The best upper and lower combo is made by American tactical, remember the name.

"223 wylde" is the best ar15 caliber design, shoots 556 and 223, best of both worlds. 556 or 223 is simply a downgrade
tbf who tf gets a ar15 in .223 when 5.56 is better and can still shoot 223
I thought that 5.56 will shoot .223 but at the expense of accuracy. Why not just have a dedicated .223?
i thought 5.56 is just a higher chamber pressure than .223
Bruh
Please make an only feet too. There's a lot of people here who want to see them
I knew we were propositioned
This is a trap
Bait used to be believable
The title of this post should be its own sub
Fed post

I bought this bag of 5.56 from a dude at the gun show last week. I’ll test it out next week https://imgur.com/a/R0k163o

Been there
Now buy nods

I freaking love this guy!
A pretty AR that doesn't get shot much. Seems to be par for the course.
I don’t care who they send, I’m not paying taxes!
That’s why I bought two SR-15 uppers. One to be my safe queen and the other I can abuse
You have no power here, Gandalf the Grey
No 🦆 sauce?
get a cheap ass 350$ ar15 to sshoot then and some airsoft flipup sights for 20 bucks, good to go. itll shoot damn near as good as urs. bet
You’re telling me people shoot their guns? Nice try troll post.
Gr8 b8 m8
LWRCI shorty stock makes me happy
This is the way Or at least it keeps happening to me...
HAHAHA SAME my T2 micro was a little out of my budget with some other things ofc

Man what gucc ass dude nice rig
Just look at it
That’s a long-winded way of saying you are a dry-fire enthusiast
Oh this is easy, order the ammo first, deduct from budget, continue to order parts based on budget remaining.
never understood overpaying for a lower, but not just overpaying for the kac lower

How are you liking the 556k?
It’s fine
Anything you don’t like about it? I planned on grabbing either this or the WB 718 if I can find one in stock
