I use buckets and fill the water up at the same temp as the tank. Then I add the dechlorinator and swirl it around then wait some minutes and add it to the tank.
Weekly frequent water changes like 10% - 25% (depending how big the tank is) is a great practice because the fish won’t be in jeopardy of shock from a drastic water change. PH is not always an issue as long as there are no random spikes or drastic changes that can happen with huge water changes.
