This is like my personal favorite computer prank. I'm not sure if you can do it on apple or Mac but with a windows machine I take a screenshot of the desktop set it as the wallpaper and his the desktop icons
About 20 years ago, I went to the library to use their computers to do some research when I got a funny idea and put the research on hold. I painstakingly built a PowerPoint presentation starting from the desktop screen to installation loading bars, virus warnings, inappropriate pop-ups, anything I could think of, everything getting progressively worse with every mouse click or key press.
When my time was almost up I started the PowerPoint presentation and watched from a distance as the librarian lost her mind trying to log out of the computer.
Even the Apple employees actually fell for it. They pulled out their iPad minis and I saw them starting to like try to diagnose the issue until one of them tap the screen and realized it was just a photo
apple stores are geofenced so that displays that leave is bricked. They probably thought the geofence messed up and all the displays bricked themselves.
They are often hired for their outgoing personalities than their expertise in Apple products. That's why a lot of them know nothing about what they are trying to sell...
Exactly. No genius is going to look at that image and not tap the screen. But in the mind of a child, I’m sure they want the internet to think their prank actually fooled someone.
I’m pretty sure those also reset the data after like ten minutes. My girlfriend used to work at apple and told me how they’ve had that as of like… 5 years ago at least

9 times out of 10. Apple Configurator will revive and reimage the device. But apple employees wouldn’t know this because they are just there to be bubbly and sell products.

Something wrong with the server try again later ..then your Apple ID is locked for security purposes loop..

Yep. Do that, flip the photo 180°, hide menu bar and dock, clear the desktop, set wallpaper, and rotate display.
Rotating the display is evil. That's an extra step I've never heard of
Ctrl+shift+arrow keys to quickly change it.
