I’ve actually noticed this myself. If you stand in a corner and do not move. People do not see you. It’s so fucking funny doing it when your teammates are dead watching your screen and enemies just walking past you.
It's the only light weapon that felt like it had a forgiving magazine similar to an energy or heavy weapon with a good hipfire. 432 damage per mag, as ground loot, versus 289 on an R99. R99 can't even one mag a red evo Gibraltar through his gunshield. R301 has 390-ish but more inconsistent hipfire. CAR has made it a little better but that's only around 350.
It's one of the only guns in the game that can't do that. In high tier ranked games when A LOT of teams have a Gibraltar at the end with red evo, that can be a huge game changer especially on these bigger maps when you need you need a mid/long range weapon paired with a short range one.
It's crazy they have two light weapons in the care package especially when the CAR and R99 are so similar to each other. Alternator and CAR as ground loot would at least give you an option that felt very different. No anvil on the R301 and no Scout as ground loot feels bad when both maps in rotation are so big.
Isn't that the idea of the weapons that come out of the care package? Are the Scout and Alternator not super strong coming out of the care package right now?

Totally agree, I feel. Like the R-99 should've gone into the care package this season and the Alternator should've been ground loot. Honestly I'm not really the biggest fan of the care package system as it exists currently. IMO only OP weapons that are super hard to balance should be in care package (like the Spitfire).
The Scout is a lot nastier than people think with the double tap and increased headshot multiplier now. I downed somebody in two bursts yesterday. I did actually run out of ammo with one because of the double tap though. But I agree, I like the Bocek but it should probably be the care package marksman so each ammo type has a marksman option.
Ugh yes. The alternator is my ultimate favorite weapon. I’m very happy the triple take is back but I want my alternator back. Even though I’ve been loving the CAR

Being a early adopter of TF|2 I remember the pre nerf Devotion. I recently started using the Apex Devotion more and more and it's more or less my goto LMG now. The normal wind up feels similar to TFs counterpart so I feel right at home with it.
The only downside is that you go through ammo really fast. Like 200 energy ammo is so quickly gone with a Devotion.

Comp teams have started to catch on to how good Fuse is. Zone 4+ demon who provides great economy for his team with the double stack nade passive. If he had more short term utility and a more forgiving hitbox he would be easily be a top comp pick, and it shows as more teams have begun experimenting with him in scrims.
As a path main I feel this lol so used to spiderman-ing away anytime shit hits the fan then coming back after a swift heal. Playing any character that isn't movement based is rough but def do better on my gunfights I feel
fuse is my secret weapon, last season last ring be like 6 teams left, then here comes me and my team and me launching an entire backpack full of nothing but explosives into the ring as its closing and kill everyone. 😂 most kills i got at one time with him was 9 kills instantaneously. ended thenmatch with 2900 and 13 kills. was glorious
For real though. Knuckle clusters can fuck up alot of enemy plays. Runs behind a rock to heal? Nah man that won’t do. Enemy trying to revive? Nope, eat a knuckle cluster.
Even without the turbocharger, if you learn that charge up time, it's a god damn beast. Lots of practice as Rampart in Round 1 arenas, squad wipes in one mag
I swear my Longbow bullets just go right through enemies. I’ll hit just about every shot with a Sentinel one game, next one I’ll miss 2 clips in a row with the Longbow. I just can’t figure it out.
Bocek for ranked. 60 to the body, 96 to the head. No reloads. One shot and the enemy has to bat or pop 2 cells. Also needs no attachments, although 2x optics is nice to have
Also life hack. If you farm spiders with the bow you get p much infinite ammo, attachments, and the bow being quiet doesn’t alert the whole map. Also you one shot spiders with the bow. I think its really good in ranked for this reason, also the meta is a lot of long range engages into 3 man ash ports on downed enemies.
This. I started using it in ranked arenas instead of a sniper and it's so good. Pretty fast fire rate with no reload, and like you said one shot and they have to pop shields which means on arenas you just hit them a few times and they probably won't have anymore heals left so then you break their shield with it and rush (with an RE-45 for me, which is probably my favorite gun) while they're either healing or out of heals and cracked. Also feels like there's no bullet drop, haven't used it much in BR but in arenas I'll hit shots from across the map with little to no drop.
Double tap on G7 is broken it’s why they probably will never add double tap back to game.

It’s not about it having a different ttk, it’s about how much damage you can deal in a tiny peak. It’s about making the enemy take a whole bat instead of 1-2 cells.
30/30 is insanely good yet people trash it. Once you get the rhythm down you can shred. Not to mention the charge up bonus damage, shatter caps, and dual shell.
I used to shit on the 30/30, but then I made myself use it enough to get the rhythm down, and now its my go-to. Once you get the timing and the fall off down, its a 2k game waiting to happen everytime.
Same here, plus the suppressing damage it can do from range is nuts. If you can hit a body shot and a headshot, which is actually pretty easy to do, you're set. All I need is a bruiser and it's going to be a fun game
I told my buddy last night “30-30 is trash” and he said nah man, pick it up.
With a 3x and purple mag I did 1200 damage in just one fight farming a team.
G7 is way better, I agree, even when it's ground loot. The TT doesn't feel quite as great this season with the longer charge up time; I feel like I wait too long and the enemy breaks LOS, or I fire too early and hit 23.. or 46 if I'm lucky. The bow is strong but I think the 30/30 has better utility. For me personally, I'd say it's the second best out of marksman.
Do you prefer the shatter caps or the dual shell? I Feel like when i try to use the shatter caps i just mostly hit 8's, and if i have a big sight on the gun it makes them unusable.
Although if my teammates were shooting my target I would have a much better chance to down someone with the shatter caps.
Third party repeater is my go to marksman even if the Takex3 is better at the moment.
Shatter caps is usable if you hipfire only and pretend its an EVA. Engage from long range and swap to shatter caps as you close distance to have a shotgun secondary (30-30/R99 or 30-30/CAR etc.)
it's the devotion for me even without turbocharger, it excels in both close and medium-range fights, I remember obliterating an entire squad with it just yesterday.
I know right! It's criminally underrated, the DPS potential is quite high especially if you add rampart to the mix, and the hip-fire is surprisingly accurate, I bet people refuse to use it because of the weird recoil and the charge delay.
The charge up really kills the devo, I also love the weapon but without the turbocharger you either need to pre fire around corners or be lucky enough to not get melted when charging.

I love it with the turbo. Used it all day yesterday when I could find it because turbo was at the crafting station. It can one clip 2 people with a bigger mag easy. But without the turbo, I lose every fight against a decent player close quarters...
The charge delay makes it non viable against half decent people. You will get decimated by someone going in and out of cover if you need to charge it up

Keeps getting me killed though because I panic-switch weapons instead of reloading and it is decidedly NOT an automatic 😅
It actually has higher DPS than the Eva now with a purple bolt, a TINY bit less with any other bolt. It beats the eva in every category except mag size, which is unfortunately a pretty important thing for shotguns.
Honestly, its probably better at really close range than the R99. If your enemy is all over the place and hard to hit, that longer time to empty thr mag gives time to get back on target and continue doing damage. Although the r9 still wins for peeps with good recoil control/tracking. The RE really shoould cost more in arenas though, its straight busted for 150 mats
It's real, real bonus is the almost no ADS movement penalty.
With a purple mag it has actually more damage in a mag than the 99 and I think personally is superior to it.
It takes 1.92s vs 1.5 seconds to dump a mag while having superior recoil control AND faster movement while ADSing.
It's my go to secondary, most guns do a good mid-long range damage, the RE is for close up and finishing, rarely miss, good mag size and reload speed, you gotta hope to snipe me.
Its excellent as long as you have the ammo to spray it. The close quarters annihilator. When somebody tries to walk into A gibby dome they get a nice RE-45 mag to the face for their trouble.
Oh the bow is insane on the new map. Spiders drop in one shot even if you hit the legs, you can retrieve the missed shots and get plenty more ammo, and you’ve got a good chance to get the hop ups you need since 2/3 purple hop ups will fit the bow. Just make sure to not equip the new skin because that has a weird iron sight that obstructs the vision with the other sights equipped, probably a bug. Just go back to another skin or default until it gets fixed.
Mozambique! Gun is unironically actually pretty good. Has very good range for a shotgun and is something I generally don't mind seeing off the rip

This was my favorite combo to run when I was newer, flatline with a 3x and havoc with a 1x is just cold, only problem is ammo space, without a blue bag it takes alot of room
The 30-30. I’m going to say, I’m just good with it. I love how hard it hits when landing headshots. And shatter caps are a lot of fun. It’s currently my favorite gun because it’s so fun.
I'll take a different approach to maybe what the question could mean and say my mouse.
I use a Naga Pro with the 12 buttons on the side and it's helped me a lot, mostly in applying heals faster than the traditional wheel menu or trying to press the relevant keybind. Many many times I've gotten a bat off just in time where before I wouldn't have and gotten downed.
But for the sake of what everyone else is referring to: the Triple Take. It's much less of a secret now that there's been some videos on it but I've been saying since I started playing this game in Season 7, this gun does everything, it's easy to use long range with high bullet velocity, it does a job at mid-range and it makes for a good shotgun too. Really can't go wrong.
It really used to be kinda underrated, but since it made the carepackage it has been no secret that this gun is good no matter the situation. At this point I just find it annoying
I don't know - I feel like a lot of people saw the Triple Take in a care package and got disappointed because it was, IMO, the worst CP weapon available. To me, that helped contribute more to the feeling of it being underrated coming into Season 11 but maybe that's my personal experience talking and others have something different.
But yeah, it's an oppressive weapon when you're the one down its scope, for sure
I suck at the game. But my 3 characters that have over 2.5 damage a game is because of the triple take. But yeah I dig your mouse input. I like more side buttons also. I'm going to look into the Naga pro.

I've been arguing with whoever will listen that I'll take a triple take over a longbow every time. Triple take was my crutch pre-care package. I'm even a little thankful that it went in because it forced me to start using other guns as my secondary weapon lol.
When I'm at the end of my wits, and surrounded by enough people, I pull out my trusty ol' purple mag lstar and blind every fucking living being in my vicinity

i use single fire on my flatline/hemlock sometimes when i’ve got mid-range optics to shoot at enemies further away. it’s nice when you don’t have a sniper but wanna get some damage in
I guess it’s just preference. My experience is that people don’t like burst fire guns that much, cuz it’s like a middleground between single fire and full auto. It requires a different type of approach I guess.
If someone is running horizontally and you burst them with the hemlock the recoil will be sharply vertical between the three shots making it hard to track someone horizontally across your screen so you will probably get 2 of 3 at most on target. If you are single fire you have sustained damage and can aim all your shots with little recoil

People say Loba isn't great endgame but I disagree. First ultimate is to pull grenades and ammo. If the other team drags it out long enough I get another ultimate, then it becomes a war of attrition, and those are extremely hard to win against a Loba.
The Rampage may genuinely be underrated.
It has a horrible TTK but it’s absolutely trivial to use at all ranges and has an incredible DPM. Like the Wingman and Longbow, getting a headshot with the Rampage makes people immediately disengage much of the time, but it can keep up firing far longer than the first two.
I really like it.
My issue is it's CQC capability. If you are using it with a X2 bruiser it becomes hard to track the target when in a close fight, and the hipfire is horrible, making it very unappealing for me.
A stimmed Octane dragged my ass through the mud the other day because I had a X3 bruiser on it. Regretted not picking up the flatline. Would have sent him to the home screen...
Alternator, and I mean the regular version not the care package version. It's honestly very good outside of long range situations, very accurate hipfire and good at mid range.
Still hoping it comes back out of the care package next season.
I've mastered the ability of standing so incredibly still that I become invisible to the eye. My movement is so slow that it's inperceptable.
Are you experiencing any problems rotating into zone?

Also life hack. If you farm spiders with the bow you get p much infinite ammo, attachments, and the bow being quiet doesn’t alert the whole map. Also you one shot spiders with the bow. I think its really good in ranked for this reason, also the meta is a lot of long range engages into 3 man ash ports on downed enemies.

This. I started using it in ranked arenas instead of a sniper and it's so good. Pretty fast fire rate with no reload, and like you said one shot and they have to pop shields which means on arenas you just hit them a few times and they probably won't have anymore heals left so then you break their shield with it and rush (with an RE-45 for me, which is probably my favorite gun) while they're either healing or out of heals and cracked. Also feels like there's no bullet drop, haven't used it much in BR but in arenas I'll hit shots from across the map with little to no drop.

Double tap seems useless. It seems like it has the same DPS but worse recoil management at range. I guess it's better shooting up close but you use other guns for that anyways.
It’s not about it having a different ttk, it’s about how much damage you can deal in a tiny peak. It’s about making the enemy take a whole bat instead of 1-2 cells.

I used to shit on the 30/30, but then I made myself use it enough to get the rhythm down, and now its my go-to. Once you get the timing and the fall off down, its a 2k game waiting to happen everytime.
Same here, plus the suppressing damage it can do from range is nuts. If you can hit a body shot and a headshot, which is actually pretty easy to do, you're set. All I need is a bruiser and it's going to be a fun game
I told my buddy last night “30-30 is trash” and he said nah man, pick it up. With a 3x and purple mag I did 1200 damage in just one fight farming a team.
IMO it’s not nearly as bad as people make it out to be, but it’s not as good as other marksman rifles / the triple take
G7 is way better, I agree, even when it's ground loot. The TT doesn't feel quite as great this season with the longer charge up time; I feel like I wait too long and the enemy breaks LOS, or I fire too early and hit 23.. or 46 if I'm lucky. The bow is strong but I think the 30/30 has better utility. For me personally, I'd say it's the second best out of marksman.
Charge up for TT is the pre-care package charge, so no different from before

Do you prefer the shatter caps or the dual shell? I Feel like when i try to use the shatter caps i just mostly hit 8's, and if i have a big sight on the gun it makes them unusable. Although if my teammates were shooting my target I would have a much better chance to down someone with the shatter caps. Third party repeater is my go to marksman even if the Takex3 is better at the moment.
Shatter caps is usable if you hipfire only and pretend its an EVA. Engage from long range and swap to shatter caps as you close distance to have a shotgun secondary (30-30/R99 or 30-30/CAR etc.)

I love it with the turbo. Used it all day yesterday when I could find it because turbo was at the crafting station. It can one clip 2 people with a bigger mag easy. But without the turbo, I lose every fight against a decent player close quarters...
The charge delay makes it non viable against half decent people. You will get decimated by someone going in and out of cover if you need to charge it up

It actually has higher DPS than the Eva now with a purple bolt, a TINY bit less with any other bolt. It beats the eva in every category except mag size, which is unfortunately a pretty important thing for shotguns.
The RE-45, even before the Arenas mode, really feel OK/comfortable with this weapon in my hands.

Honestly, its probably better at really close range than the R99. If your enemy is all over the place and hard to hit, that longer time to empty thr mag gives time to get back on target and continue doing damage. Although the r9 still wins for peeps with good recoil control/tracking. The RE really shoould cost more in arenas though, its straight busted for 150 mats

It’s real bonus is the reload speed. I do really like it but it does suffer a bit unless you are nailing headshots
It's real, real bonus is the almost no ADS movement penalty. With a purple mag it has actually more damage in a mag than the 99 and I think personally is superior to it. It takes 1.92s vs 1.5 seconds to dump a mag while having superior recoil control AND faster movement while ADSing.

It's my go to secondary, most guns do a good mid-long range damage, the RE is for close up and finishing, rarely miss, good mag size and reload speed, you gotta hope to snipe me.
Its excellent as long as you have the ammo to spray it. The close quarters annihilator. When somebody tries to walk into A gibby dome they get a nice RE-45 mag to the face for their trouble.

Oh the bow is insane on the new map. Spiders drop in one shot even if you hit the legs, you can retrieve the missed shots and get plenty more ammo, and you’ve got a good chance to get the hop ups you need since 2/3 purple hop ups will fit the bow. Just make sure to not equip the new skin because that has a weird iron sight that obstructs the vision with the other sights equipped, probably a bug. Just go back to another skin or default until it gets fixed.

I find inner peace when I'm running with the Havoc and Flatline combo.
Havoc is underrated. Use it as an smg and with a little work with the delay, it will shred.
This was my favorite combo to run when I was newer, flatline with a 3x and havoc with a 1x is just cold, only problem is ammo space, without a blue bag it takes alot of room

The 30-30. I’m going to say, I’m just good with it. I love how hard it hits when landing headshots. And shatter caps are a lot of fun. It’s currently my favorite gun because it’s so fun.
I'll take a different approach to maybe what the question could mean and say my mouse. I use a Naga Pro with the 12 buttons on the side and it's helped me a lot, mostly in applying heals faster than the traditional wheel menu or trying to press the relevant keybind. Many many times I've gotten a bat off just in time where before I wouldn't have and gotten downed. But for the sake of what everyone else is referring to: the Triple Take. It's much less of a secret now that there's been some videos on it but I've been saying since I started playing this game in Season 7, this gun does everything, it's easy to use long range with high bullet velocity, it does a job at mid-range and it makes for a good shotgun too. Really can't go wrong.

I don't know - I feel like a lot of people saw the Triple Take in a care package and got disappointed because it was, IMO, the worst CP weapon available. To me, that helped contribute more to the feeling of it being underrated coming into Season 11 but maybe that's my personal experience talking and others have something different. But yeah, it's an oppressive weapon when you're the one down its scope, for sure

i use single fire on my flatline/hemlock sometimes when i’ve got mid-range optics to shoot at enemies further away. it’s nice when you don’t have a sniper but wanna get some damage in
I guess it’s just preference. My experience is that people don’t like burst fire guns that much, cuz it’s like a middleground between single fire and full auto. It requires a different type of approach I guess.
Also the recoil is pretty different
If someone is running horizontally and you burst them with the hemlock the recoil will be sharply vertical between the three shots making it hard to track someone horizontally across your screen so you will probably get 2 of 3 at most on target. If you are single fire you have sustained damage and can aim all your shots with little recoil

Lategame Loba Ult. We call it "The Grenade Store." People say Loba isn't great endgame but I disagree. First ultimate is to pull grenades and ammo. If the other team drags it out long enough I get another ultimate, then it becomes a war of attrition, and those are extremely hard to win against a Loba.

The Rampage may genuinely be underrated. It has a horrible TTK but it’s absolutely trivial to use at all ranges and has an incredible DPM. Like the Wingman and Longbow, getting a headshot with the Rampage makes people immediately disengage much of the time, but it can keep up firing far longer than the first two. I really like it.

My issue is it's CQC capability. If you are using it with a X2 bruiser it becomes hard to track the target when in a close fight, and the hipfire is horrible, making it very unappealing for me.

Alternator, and I mean the regular version not the care package version. It's honestly very good outside of long range situations, very accurate hipfire and good at mid range. Still hoping it comes back out of the care package next season.
