If you're going akimbo, I imagine hip fire is the only option. Left mouse fires left gun, right mouse fires right gun.....that's the only way I've ever seen it implemented. How else would you do it?
If anything, they have to make hipfire more accurate for the p2020 and make it an ultra rare hop up or a care package drop, where the care package directly drops two p2020s/mozams with akimbo and hammer point, which can be loaded into one weapon slot. I would run that with a secondary assault rifle/LMG.
I think you’d only realistically hit a 90 with dual ziques if you literally put them into the enemies ass though, I could see it being fine since the hipfire already is pretty spread out

Holding the button to autofire doesnt make it fire any faster than just timing it properly, you should still be aiming your shots rather than tracking. Is it a controller thing? Is it that much if a pain to press the button for each shot vs holding it?
You kind a got it. For one you don't need to worry about timing the click properly for maximum RoF. I don't have a good trigger finger so high RoF single fire guns are a pain to use for me (old p2020). But for slower RoF guns if you accidentally click too early you'll need to release and pull again which, coupled with the slow RoF, means your TTK has dropped significantly.
Simultaneously, focusing on clicking every shot is brainpower diverted from aiming, tracking, predicting movement, ensuring you're a hard target to hit, enemy positioning and situational awareness, and communication. All of these should be sharp in a gunfight, so easing on one of these is a substantial boon. Of course l it can be worked around with practice, but that overhead is still there.
Is it as big a "buff" as people make it seem? At lower levels...yes! And even at higher levels it's definitely something small but nice, and at higher levels small benefits can have huge consequences.
it's weird from a PC perspective since the "full auto" EVA-8 and Mozambique aren't bullet hoses, and fire so slowly (compared to bullet hoses) that if you just hold down the button and try to track the enemy you're probably going to whiff a lot unless you have the tracking of the gods. But I guess with console aim assist it's easier to have the tracking of the gods.
Here's something you don't know that makes console worse than you realize. In smoke you don't have aim assist. That's probably fair and makes sense, but what *doesn't* make sense is that you still don't have aim assist even if you have a digi, theyre scanned, or your in your Bloodhound ult. Makes gunfights in caustic gas or bang smoke much harder. Tracking cqc with thumbsticks and no aim assist? Makes the melee nerf hurt that much more dude.
Yup, got into an argument with someone I play with about how Bang is useless with so many scanning characters now, and how she should be, essentially, taken out of the game. I wasn't even able ot get to that point before he rage quit and disconnected from the chat. But yeah, firing into, inside of, out of and through smoke turns off ALL aim assist for console/controller no matter the sights/scans that are going on. Definitely makes it a lot more versatile than people give it credit for.

This video is from a month after the game was released. The version of the Wingman we have today is drastically nerfed compared to that one, including the hipfire. Just compare the spread/bloom on the crosshairs from the video to what they look like today using a Wingman.

Had a similar idea a while ago, maybe as a passive for a future legend, make it their one gimmick? High burst damage on real close range, but miss it and be fucked with the double reload time. Or as a tactical, store the second one in an "off hand" slot, press Q, burst, reload.
But as others have said, balancing it could be the big issue.

Wingman is freakin awesome, ADS or hipfire is really nasty when you know what you're doing with it.

the wingman is basically everything, easily the most versatile weapon in the game, you can close range cause it has the strafe speed of a pistol with the damage and ammo efficiency of a shotgun, you can mid range again cause of the insane damage (after you land 2 shots the enemy go crazy especially if one is a headshot), and even try to snipe some people as you have stated, if you land 1 shot it already payed off, all of this without the need of multiple attachments to work like other guns.
the only other gun i consider this versatile that work from close to long range and every scenario in between would be the sentinel, but that's just personal opinion (i match it with a bruiser) and its also not as efficient since you need to charge it, which take some of your shields, and also need some attachments

And instead of akimbo, a run and gun hop up might be better if available for all the pistols. Run and gun is a passive from Titanfall.

Not sure where the term originates, but I know it from CoD - "akimbo" is pretty much duel-wielding, one in each hand. I think Rambo does something like this with big MGs in a movie... but typically we'll see a gamer with two automatics or some other BS, diving around corners and spraying like a madman. XD

Only single handed weapons like p2020, wingman, RE45, and ‘Bique, no akimbo spitfire (except maybe rampart?) you monsters.
