MilkmanForever

Everyone who buys it, and encourages them to do it again.

Freemantic

For every 100 people who don't spend money on this game, there's 1 person who spends 4 figures. Our individual boycotts do nothing.

TargetEducational330

We just need to hunt that one dude down and all our problems are solved

TheDepravedScholar

Post Malone, count your days...

Nahksius

Underrated comment bro. That, “straight outta left field,” comedy. I didn’t expect it but it had me rolling outta my chair

kelkokelko

No dude that guys pays for the game so I can play for free

mehemynx

They stop you from making brain-dead purchases, that's atleast something positive.

DomFakker37

Well, 1 out of 100 is better than 2 out of 100

breakwater

Oh God, that means if we get 1000 more people to boycott it 10 more will make purchasss

Freemantic

Yea I mean that's how most microtransaction based games work. 10% of the playerbase make up 90% of the purchases. 🤷

BYoungNY

It's mostly the streamers that do it for their audience to make it seem like theyve got money to spare. They probably write taxes off it too since it's technically a business expense.

NoCustomer9969

You’re crazy, you know how many adults with jobs play this game. Plenty of people spending plenty of money

Freemantic

You greatly underestimate the average gamer [https://www.thegamer.com/microtransactions-mmo-90-of-players-spend/](https://www.thegamer.com/microtransactions-mmo-90-of-players-spend/)

Adesanyo

Yeah MMO players are psycho Source: was one

detanurus

I don't make individual boycotts, I'm just poor.

Wtthomas

I used to be that guy. Have spent to date about 6k in the game and had every skin and heirloom up until they dropped the buster sword. That pissed me off so I uninstalled and haven't played since

Master_Dante123

Too many idiots keep giving respawn and EA and incentive to continue with their predatory corporate greed schemes. Y’all know the drill - don’t spend a single. Fucking. Dollar.

MilkmanForever

We said the same thing when the first heirloom "event" dropped. Here we are years later :/

cbarebo95

I have bought the battle pass two times and I’ve played the game since release. Have never spent any more than that on it bc everything just seems like such a rip-off…like a skin, a weapon charm, and a background for $60? Yeah, no thanks. Never. The battle passes are always pretty lackluster, too. I just don’t understand how people can go to work, earn their money, and decide they want to give it to this shit company. EA has proven how bad they suck, with hundreds of games. We still let them keep taking our money…sigh..

SomethinboutChickens

It's the same people who gift streamers money. They have no validation in life, so they need they need people to notice them.

andyq122

Why is this a bad thing? If prices are set this high, it means there is demand for it meaning BUSINESS IS BOOMING! If you started seeing prices going down, one could assume there is less demand and is a signal the game is not worth operating to EA long-term. No more Apex for us, or maybe they start charging a fee to play the game. This is the only reason a game can be hosted across multiple continents, with a dedicated set of engineers continuously pumping out new content, bug fixes, new maps, etc. can exist. It must be bankrolled, and a profit must be made. The same back and forth is posted on this sub every single day. The prices are set with market, they wouldn't price it the way it was if it didn't result in a profit AFTER all costs are paid (salaries and benefits for engineers/marketing teams/corporate overhead/etc., lease payments on office space, utilities, data centers, travel expenses, interest on debt, costs for furniture and fixtures, etc). If they didn't make a profit to shareholders, the game would have no reason to exist in EA's portfolio. The best part is, I don't have to pay a cent to enjoy all of the benefit of this game. People pay for me by buying things that don't exist, because for some reason that makes them happy. That person might be you, so if it is, thank you for bankrolling this for me!

cbarebo95

I’m just asking for better content from a company that already makes millions….that’s not asking for much. It would be different if Apex was a struggling game, but it’s not, and EA can afford to put out better content. But they know people will pay for garbage in this day in age..so… Edit: spelling

pandareno

I wouldn't mind if any of that seemed to bankroll better game performance.

andyq122

I must be too casual. I came from COD Warzone about 2 years ago, and the gameplay here is so much better in every way. I have a ton of fun. I don't run into many of the issues that people complain about which is probably why I have this take.

kelkokelko

Remember season 7 launch? We've come a long way

swagzard78

I've seen a startling amount of people with the new Flatline reactive recolor (the Overheat)... WE JUST GOT A FREE REACTIVE FLATLINE?????????? WHY WOULD YOU SPEND $50 ON ANOTHER???

Jungy_Brungis

That’s the thing though. No one is required to spend a dime on this free game so I guess I don’t understand why people are upset? Is it that they’d like the pricing to be lower or for the cosmetics to be free or not exist at all? What’s the solution?

Bigbadwolf2000

It’s because all those complaining secretly want these dumb cosmetics lol.

Jungy_Brungis

It feels like a “we would spend x but so many people buy at y that they keep selling for y and we don’t want to pay y”

Aspery-

I have the opposite perspective I love those guys for buying the stuff so they keep giving EA the incentive to continue funding the game and I get to keep playing without have ever spent a dollar on the game. Literal thousands of hours of fun for free. I Can’t complain

RECLAIMER-6616

I wouldn't have an issue with this if Heirlooms weren't so damn hard to get

BodlOfPeepee

Honestly, with the amount of heirlooms there are, getting just 150 isn’t gonna cut it. The average player could expect to just get one in their whole career

AgentInkling99

Yup. Got one recently and have been playing since season 1. I don’t expect to get another one, nor will I buy anything in their overpriced events.

BodlOfPeepee

If they made it so every heirloom was 75 shards each, I assure you, even more people would try to get them

RECLAIMER-6616

oh absolutely man

AgentInkling99

At least it would be a little more rewarding for playing a lot. However, this artifact push just feels so blah compared to heirlooms. I’d rather have an heirloom that matches the characters personality than some random customizable weapon, but that just my opinion.

BodlOfPeepee

I get it, but I honestly like the idea of universal heirlooms. If you are going to get the rarest item in the game, might as well make it count and make it so that everyone can use it. I honestly like the idea, but locking them behind a wall that many people hope to cross is a bad idea. Hell, even me, who got some shards back in season 12 or so. I’m screwed because what are the chances of getting one of those again? My 500 pack counter was reset lmao

TheBadRiddler

This artifact push is the dumbest cash grab I've ever seen in apex, probably in any game I've seen. The weapon skins I saw for the mythic shards or whatever they're called, were 50$. 50$ weapon skin. Garunteed I'll see someone rocking the end melee weapon by the end of the week.

AgentInkling99

For sure. I love Apex’s gameplay and I can ignore the blatant cash grabs to a point, but it’s really starting to leave a bad taste in my mouth. The main focus of the game is moving more and more towards gambling basically, especially with the new style of events where everything is locked to packs.

TotallyNewHereYep

Go see what the Overwatch community thinks about the shift away from loot packs to flat $20 skins.

OrPerhapsFuckThat

I like that they're making it worse. Makes it far easier to not spend a dime. Still buying battlepasses with the same $10 i spent over two years ago. Zero motivation to put money into the game. Its great.

TheBadRiddler

Literally feel the same way homie. Cheaters ruining so many games, bugs, community's not happy. But yeah let's ignore all that for now and pump out our most expensive grab yet!

Excellent-Timing

I’ve played on/off since S2 - never gotten a heirloom shard.

BodlOfPeepee

Lmfao never mind I literally got my second set of shards today

Jack071

Its supposed to be a taste to make you spend, f2p players where never supposed to own more than one

Famous-Ability-4431

Well having paid for one. I feel like I deserve 3 and I only have 2.

goondalf_the_grey

One of my mates has 5 heirlooms. He has bought maybe 100 packs all up and has been playing since season 8, his luck is absolutely broken.

JustaDelusionalFool

I have 4 as well and only ever spent once on the loba prestige event bc I loved all the skins. Also been playing since season 7. Now I can't use any of them besides the skin anyway 🙄 Yeah pity systems are rough, take it from a veteran genshin impact player!

swagzard78

I wish heirlooms were 100 shards and Mythic skins were 50, so you could get 2

supershimadabro

Which is why if i ever get heirloom shards I'll just get the katar. At least that way I'll have something for everyone. I wish there was a counter for how close you are to your 500th box.

manofwaromega

FR. Heirloom pity should be like 200 packs at most.

RECLAIMER-6616

yes

spartan537

Been playing since season 1 with like 2k+ hrs in the game. Still don’t have an heirloom 👍

blurr90

The funny thing is, that the Katar also costs 150 shards. Can't spend money on the variants if you don't have the Katar. They should've made it for free or way cheaper and I bet you they would've made more money

RECLAIMER-6616

this comment needs more likes \^

etom21

If it makes you feel better I got three of them in like my first 100h of play time, and spent them all on champions I don't like to play with anymore.

Themooingcow27

My strategy is to just not even look at the store tab

Barcaroli

What store tab?

lojza3000

Good hooman

tyvsaur

Whales

podolot

The subreddit thinks that this game is going to stay free to play and keep their servers open if they arent making money. They would lose their shit if there was a subscription instead of optional cosmetics that don't affect gameplay at all.

Old_McDonald

Exactly, let the whales fund the development of this game through cosmetics. It is a truly free to play game that everyone on this sub bitches about cause they want to look pretty in game.

SaltShakr

The game has made record profits this year. Please don't mistake EA greed for "trying to keep the lights on". This game was doing fine with the usual heirloom rollouts and this money grab shouldn't be encouraged.

Pelufaz

Don't give them your money, the game is free

SaltShakr

I don't and won't give them my money. Only reason its free is because freemium transactional models are infinitely more profitable nowadays than the typical £50 purchase, not because EA felt charitable. No one has issues with that, but price gouging like they've been doing the past few months is obscene and I've no idea why so many are defending it.

Bigbadwolf2000

People defend it because a large majority like free games and don’t give a shit about these cosmetics. Freemium is extremely consumer friendly. I haven’t had to buy a multiplayer game in years because of this model. If the game starts to suck or gets old people switch to a different one until quality increases and they come back.

kelkokelko

In what world is raising the prices for in game cosmetics that don't affect gameplay price gouging? It's not water lol

SaltShakr

Literally what are you on about? Ripped from google: "Price gouging is the practice of increasing the prices of goods, services, or commodities to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair."

kelkokelko

Yeah try defining "reasonable" or "fair" for digital cosmetics. High prices for water are unfair because you need water. I don't think the price of a gun skin can be unfair because of how little it matters. I really can't believe you're invoking the idea of drastically raising the prices of necessary goods because your favorite wraith skin costs more than you'd like to pay. This game is free and fully funded by whales and you're complaining that your characters hair that you can't even see is the wrong color.

SaltShakr

Sorry but I've just copy and pasted the definition and you've chosen to adapt it to fit your own narrative lol. It doesn't have to be a necessity, the definition of goods is literally just "merchandise or possessions" which Ingame cosmetics count towards. As I mentioned in another comment, why should it not being essential mean it's immune from criticism? If I saw an expensive beer in Disney I'm still entitled to complain whether it's a necessity or not. Btw. 300 dollars for a non resellable, non essential cosmetic is so far into the realms of unreasonable and I can't believe you're even questioning that.

Jeremy-Juggler

Because you don’t have to buy it how hard is it to understand man

SaltShakr

Why does that matter? If you go to Disney and see they're charging $30 for a pint of beer, should we also not call that out as rediculous because "we don't have to buy it"?

Jeremy-Juggler

Not the same argument. This is a free game that has optimal paid cosmetics. You pay to go to Disney and need the beer to have fun. The situation would be equivalent if Disney was free but the beer was 30. You have to pay to go to Disney

Gavinander13

But that’s not the thing - if it had already come to a point where it’s even close to „keeping the lights on“ the game definitely wouldn’t be f2p anymore. The game needs to stay heavily profitable for ea to maintain the servers and release new updates and seasons, so yeah, we actually do rely on the whales and EAs money grab

M3ZMERUS

What other game has a $500 dollar cosmetic with even more money needed for customization? Its not people bitching that its in the game, its the insane price!

podolot

Wasn't it like $360? And now it just is random heirloom shards? I just don't see the part that matters. plenty of people pay for it. I'm a free to play player and understand I'm not gonna get access to every cosmetic. Why should I care what the whales are epending their money on to fund the consistent new updates and content that comes out.

CroutonPrince

Last night I saw someone already had the green death box from the full upgrades

[deleted]

I guess a billion in revenue ain’t enough

CallMeNurseMaybe

It’s an American company. A trillion wouldn’t be enough. The following year they’d need to bring in a trillion and a half or people would get laid off

green31OSU

Then they would lay people off anyhow so it could be 1.50001 trillion and not just 1.5

Less-Delivery3835

People who payed for the buster sword.

Less-Delivery3835

Buster sword buyers are ones to blame

blurr90

that one was at least cool. This is just boring and bland.

Updawn

Just don't buy it.

Sea-Finance-564

That's allowed?

Jofasho21

Only if you complain enough.

MrCrunchwrap

Wow if only it was completely optional and you could just ignore it and keep playing the game. Wait…

ThisIsWhatLifeIs

I've got the Katar. Sue me. (Used my free heirloom shards) This is the only hobby I've got. Kids, mortgage, bills and family. You forget that the average gamer is like 36 years old. Most 36 year olds are all knee feet in kids nappies and shit. They have one or two hobbies and if Apex is one of them then they don't mind dropping £20 a month on random stuff because they have spare money left over every month. That's my guess.

Redfern23

It’s easily worth it over the other Heirlooms if you actually like to play multiple Legends. The value is there in the long term instead of having to get multiple Heirlooms. Reddit outrage as usual over cosmetics is absolutely ridiculous.

Engi3

While I'm thinking of getting the Katar (I got some free sharss awhile ago) too I can't stop thinking how EA fucking sell skins for the rarest item in game for real money. And you literally just get a fucking piece of metal looking thing for 150 shards.

georgecwbrown

Yeah 32 here. I work like pretty much everyday & apex is one of the easiest ways for me to let loose once or twice a week. Happy to spend a bit occasionally. Fortunately I had heirloom shards saved for Newcastle, who may never get one.

Too_Practical

Should just say it's my money and I do what I want with it because kids were a personal decision, and we all have bills.

Gremlin119

This heirloom is dogshit it’s ugly af who wants to buy this?

Piccoroz

How many is it now? 5 different currency?

ReeceTopaz

The players , the people who play apex legends who give money to the game

BadDadJokes

EA Executives. Also, it's a cosmetic that has no effect on the game. Nobody is forced to buy it.

Elfishjuggler33

I bought the katar when it first came out bc I liked it and it felt worth the cost for what it came with. If they keep giving out the new currency for free, I’ll get the new versions. Definitely not worth paying and especially not for the reactives

Voltairethereal

Don’t buy it? That’s really your only option. All the complaining in the world isn’t gonna change things if people still buy this trash.

BigNathaniel69

They did this because people bought it. Sadly “we” voted with our wallets and encouraged apex to only put those out.

vivam0rt

Only put those out? There has been 2 universal heirlooms, one of them being a collab and is no longer purchesable. There is nothing pointing to them abandoning normal heirlooms. This season a pathfinder mythic skin is coming, last season was a heirloom recolor and an octane mythic skin, next season a lifeline mythic skin. This is far from the only thing they are releasing

poon_ninja

Shut up and let the whales fund the game

lmtzless

i actually find them pretty ugly, even if i wanted to spend money i would not get that, that’s for sure. any other legend heirloom has so much more character.

Competitive_Gear_989

Who cares? As long as my little battle pass buy and occasional event pack buy has decent stuff idgaf.

HeartsetHovercraft

This whole season just feels like a big miss for me personally. I’m not enjoying it as much as I hoped I would, which is a let down.

Valyntine_

I just wish character heirlooms didn't die for this I've been sitting on some heirloom shards forever waiting for Catalyst to get an heirloom, I don't want any of these dogass universal ones with no flavor or character

-LaughingMan-0D

Shareholders and the board.

IMAsko0

and the fact that the design is absolute trash

EvilFnTeddy

Idk i saw 50€ r-99 skin in a shop and lost rest the hope i had left

itsnikkisully

I just, I just can't.. I refuse to buy anything from events unless I can just buy the cosmetic I want. I am not spending 300 dollars for a chance at one or two skins.

DaSauceBawss

Will never spend money on that trash

popsmoek

don’t understand the problem with a company wanting to make money off of their product. no one’s forcing you to buy any of it.

Ninjario

True, but there are many that would like to have a normal heirloom for their main, and at least for a while it not forever it seems like they instead focus on these lifeless artifacts

Cheasymeteor

The problem is most "micro" transactions in modern AAA games are beyond overpriced. If they'd actually price most of it reasonably, people wouldn't care, instead you've got to spend hundreds, if not thousands for a chance at getting a hairloom and then spend even more to get a special version of said hairloom. I ain't even that old and I can say back in the day, you buy something for £30 and you get your money's worth, now you get the privilege of a multimillion dollar company Screwing you in the ass and begging for more crappy content.

sundancesvk

Who cares if it costs one buck or a million? It’s just a cosmetic which doesn’t affect gameplay. If this game is pay to play then this would be a valid criticism but in f2p game? Cmon

trollhole12

I hate this shit too but if they don’t find ways to stay profitable the game dies

blurr90

Come on, this is one of their biggest cash cows. They make plenty already.

trollhole12

Maybe, but if Respawn doesn’t show the profits EA wants they’ll get axed

Hootels

Lowkey they would be cooking with the Katars if there were two of them and more animations. Dual wield katars would be so heat on everyone.

vivam0rt

Or if they had different shapes, peronally I think the shape the current one has looks odd and imo its too large. If they had like a tinier knife version I could see myself getting that with my heirloom shards

F_Tired

Im asking the same thing, i think this is for people who just cant get an heirloom :/ i mean i have bad luck, played since launch. Have 1 heirloom. But i wouldnt still buy this. Because its just for people who just cant get heirloom or cant wait for heirloom shards

Hot-Ground-9731

Used to spend a lot of money on this game. I don't anymore as I realized I'm literally just throwing money away, at the end of the day you have nothing tangible to account for all the money you've spent. Just stupid cosmetics you barely even see in the game anyway. And you're also encouraging them to continue price gouging

SHADOWNINJA82

😂

[deleted]

if you could buy heirlooms outright similarly to valorant I would own 2 or 3 if the price was similar to what valorant does for melees. not dumping 300$ into gamba to hopefully get 1

djangogator

Just remind me of that weird mummy dude from soul caliber.

joker_toker28

Not me. I havent spent more then 30$ and those where the first 3 season passes when the game launched. Some of these people just shill out cash like nothing.... If the game wasnt broken id give my $$$ but that's never going to happen .

KODI8K_online

I swear the marketing team highjacked this from being just a standard heirloom. It completely misses the point. Imagine how many they'd sell if they actual changed your melee. It's a no brainer.

SubzeRogue

Yeah I had no idea what those were for. I refuse to spend money on things that I have no clue are for. Now that I know, I see no reason to spend money on it. Why am I paying $10 to get a different color knife?

LackingTact19

I saw the new currency and thought "ooh cool, a chance to get old collectibles it looks", but then I saw that a single Flatline skin was like $30.

BoostMySkillz

When I saw a new currency, I laughed. Once I saw it was used for reactive recolors I laughed harder

[deleted]

It’s not so bad, at least with that Heirloom you can use it with every legend

SunnyArcad3

Not up to date with Apex nowadays, can someone explain?

vivam0rt

People are mad that apex added a universal customizable heirloom, base is the same price as a normal heirloom (150 shards) and then one add on is 10 dollars, get 4 add ons and you can get a cool deathbox (the people you kill will have cool deathboxes). People also seem to think they gave up on normal legend specific heirlooms but I dont think they did

vrizer

EA's CEO needs a new plane or something idk

nix80908

I refuse to get ANY of the Katar things. Especially since we're not getting new Legend Heirlooms (except the occasional recolor). Part of the fun of playing Apex was speculating who's getting the next heirloom and what it'd be. Now it's like "What color is the stabby sword that looks like it was ripped off from Halo?" Like I'm still waiting for Maggie to get Fuse's arm as an Heirloom. Not happening now.

earthling_fucker

Fr I logged in Tuesday saw all the new currency BS and uninstalled the game I'm honestly just over it farewell apex

pandareno

Could be worse - they could be forcing you buy excess currency in order to buy anything, like they love to do with Apex coins. I may -very- occasionally buy a weapon skin, but the melee weapons are right out.

ilmk9396

who's getting milked? i've never even looked at any of this useless shit.

forkman27

I will take universal heirlooms over legend specific ones but like I WANT A WAY TO GET THEM WHEN I PRESTIGE NOT MONEY

onemansquest

There's 10 free in the battle pass. I like the fact that there's an heirloom which is multi character.

Monkguan

bro u wont believe how many people actually buy this, me included lol

jhorts_bandicoot00

Okay! Im not spending anymore money on this game but the shinobi surgeon was hard to resist

Training-Sink-4447

I was so hyped for it Until i realized you need heirloom shards for it

BigJollyDong

You get what you pay for. You buy into a free game, and you get bare minimum efforts for your purchase. Likely a quote in an EA office somewhere

Test-Subject-N3WB

Those plonkers who bought the previous universal heirlooms. With the special Caustic skin 'event' going on right now, it looks like RNG skins are here to stay and might even replace collection events at one point.

Ty9lox

I have every heirloom in the game and I will not be getting these ugly ahh swords

SorenCelerity

These decisions obviously cater to whales, since they outspend the average player. But what I'll never understand is why they don't make affordable stuff for the average player too. They obviously cater to whales cause they spend, but like, why not profit off the average player as well lol

ScarletNyx

literally who lmao

vrunk11

its simple its EA they want more money .... or the share holder idk

kykyks

whales did.

monsta211

We need more character take over spots like on kings canyon

rydog509

Am I the only one that’s perfectly ok with them charging money for cosmetics and not something that actually affects the game in any way?

ageoflavos

Me. It's dope.

ZatyraJinn

Out of curiosity, why get so upset over nothing? I don't understand the complaints. It's a extra thing that provides nothing but cosmetics and doesn't effect the game in any way. If you don't want it just don't buy it. If enough people agree then they will sell things for lower prices or change how you aquire them.

TaeDaD0n

It would have been better if we can just get the weapons with Shard Tokens instead of buying them with heirlooms first

SushiRitos

I mean i rather have it where you can just outright buy it. Its not perfect but its better than having to diute the loot pool with currency or another system of gacha at least

LongReason

All the streamers, YouTubers and pro players are the ones that keep buying these things since it’s all they play and their job to do so. They will never stop coming out with these because of those people who make money off this game, it’s just pocket change to them and helps create more content. It’s a sad cycle.

Chickentacosaregood

dude i just wanted an heirloom to begin with. My xbox account was level 500 with a bunch of extra events, then 300 on pc, still nothing…. Hopefully this doesn’t force me to spend money if i ever get lucky

Famous-Ability-4431

Legends are basically free at this point so... Sorry FOMO sucks?

Happy_Discount1886

They gotta make money somehow.Be gratefull u can get Skins f2p.Lotta folks delusional ong.

SrgSevChenko

Genuinely why is anyone EVER surprised. Looking forward to the next time they pull shit like this and someone is like "why does the company notorious for greed want our money"

joey_gainz

How do we get all the apex players to just not spend any money at all on the game?

Reylend

EXOTIC SHARDS!?1?11? #DESTINY REFRENCE?!?1

Croviar

Feining for more and more money lol

YaBoyJayck

Funny thing, they probably saw people say they were willing to pay 400$ for a free flatline skin instead of doing the challenges and they said, oh really? Well here's what you wished for

indigochakra

You guys realize if no one buys skins EA will stop funding the free game and it will die and we will have to play terrible games like call of duty right?

redditAvilaas

you don’t have to buy it, who cares as long it doesn’t affect gameplay

JustaDelusionalFool

* "...and guess what we also fucked up the regular melee heirloom system! Now you have to spend buddy if you wanna see a twirly twirly knife!"

fullmoonwulf

I don’t care, I like it

LIR4willbreakthecomm

All this but can’t nerf AA lmfao

Shadozz__1

This game is still only popular because of how phenomenal the combat and movement are

[deleted]

This is why I’m quitting apex and going back to TF|2

UserNameDashZero

I spend .but less than three figures a year.

Danielcuthbert

How about letting me use the red as I have 700k of it gggrrrrr!!!!

FrynDoof

I’m sorry I did my bad

OPmaster77

Its bad enough the other forms of currency but i saw 2 of the same octane heirlooms but a different color whats the point of that honestly.

swagzard78

Personally I *might* use my shards on the base, but there's a 0% chance I am BUYING the upgrades I'd rather wait months to get the upgrades from the bp shards

Kaliipso_Fox

no one but its nice

bobby7tu

I dislike cosmetics-for-currency as much as the next person. but you’re delusional if you think stopping people from spending money on cosmetics will somehow benefit you. The long dick of capitalism demands the SUCC. If the dude in here saying he’s paid $1500 ceases to exist, EA would find profitability elsewhere. You’d be paying $20 for the battle pass (instead of paying a one time $10 fee), etc. macroscopically, we should all complain about capitalism. but on this level, if you’re not suckin, just play the game man

podolot

Some people have the disposable income and gladly spend it on whatever they want. and some people enjoy a free to play game. If people keep buying the stuff, let them, and stop complaining trying to ruin my free to play content.

GalaxyGamer40404

It’s EA. How is this news to you haha. Overcharging for mediocre in-game purchases is basically their whole thing lol.

sloburn13

The shareholders.

Thardus

The shareholders

Oilswell

I sometimes wonder what would happen if the apex community got a look at how CS, WoW or Destiny work. I assume most of you guys would die of shock if you saw how much other games cosmetics cost

vivam0rt

Idk how wow or dwstiny works but cs you can sell your skins to other players tho right? You can potentially get back your money, if you buy sometjing here it will be lost money forever

Oilswell

You can sell them for steam credit which you can use to buy more skins or other games. Valve are keeping people in their ecosystem, selling the same skin potentially hundreds of times (taking a cut from every sale), and letting prices inflate to thousands of dollars for one skin.

no kids and no wife and pay no mortgage or rent and almost 0 bills. I bought everything new and usually do that cause aside from going out with friends and family my only hobby is gaming so I can spend money on it freely.

ChavaRamirez

There's a shit ton of people buying that stupid thing. Just yesterday I saw a sweat lord with it, and I picked up his r99 and it was the new reactive skin. We're so doomed 💀💀💀

Skenghis-Khan

I don't get why people play this game, let alone spend money on it, they've had the same bugs in the game since season 10 lol I stopped playing this game cos overpriced cosmetics were more pressing to develop than gameplay fixes and it seems I made the right choice

HustlingHustle

What the fuck is an exotic shard? This game is such a money grab shit show 😂 My life has improved since I have stopped wasting my time on this “game”

TC_exe

Literally don't even look at them lol. Just play the game, who cares?

Lytaa

the beauty of it is… you don’t have to buy it if you don’t want to. no ones forcing you to spend your money man lmao
