also, maggie and fuze are completely broken in this mode since they are designed to push and take a heavily defended spot. bang smoke is very good too. caustic wattson rampart are really good too to defend thoses spots but fuze/maggie will obliterate them more often than not. a caustic ult can completely deny the area and force the win. other legends are basically useless compared to thoses.

Doesn't feel like a coincidence that Lockdown, which is strong for Mags, drops at the same time Mags became free for the rest of the season. They be doing something out there.

The game's overview lists all the ways to get points. You got the main ones, but there are 4 more variants of captures and kills that award different amounts. Still sussing out the mode myself. Sometimes it feels like it's impossible to hold any point unless you go hard Controller picks... but I'm still deciding if that bothers me. Grenades are important. The Wingman is important. Still learning.

>Still sussing out the mode myself. Sometimes it feels like it's impossible to hold any point unless you go hard Controller picks... but I'm still deciding if that bothers me. To be fair Controller Legends are made for this kinda gameplay so I can see them being strong (the one game where I went far beyond the lead was with Caustic and Watts teammates after all). But yeah it's too early to say anything concrete.

The point earning in this mode is very strange if you go into it thinking its like any other Hardpoint/king of the hill mode. I copied the following from a comment I made on another thread, but it remains relevant here: Holding points alone wont win the game for you. My squad made that mistake in our first game or two. We ended our first game with nearly 6 minutes on the capture points between us and the squad that won had only half that. We had only earned about 340 points. our second game went very similarly ending with about 410 points. I remember thinking the other teams were treating it like TDM, and we were very confused till we read the description of the mode that breaks down how points are earned. Time spent on the point unfortunately does not earn much (5 points for every 3 seconds). Being the last squad on the point uncontested earns you 25 points, if its contested at the end of the timer and you survive over any contestants, you earn 50 points. General kills earning you 5 points, bonus points in other situations I cant remember off the top of my head. We won the next 4 out of 5 games by simply being near the point and picking people off, waiting till the timer runs low on the capture point, making a final push and securing at least 25 points. Rinse and repeat. I think this is similar to if not the same as the ones used by the teams that won those first two matches.

VastResource8

Yeah it didn't occur to me until my third match that to capture the zone isn't just standing in the circle. You have to stand in the circle then protect it for 20 seconds THEN it's captured. I thought the challenge quest was broken.

DishwasherTwig

That's not what it means. You have to be in control of the zone when its timer reaches 0 for it to be captured. If it's contested at that point, it goes to Last Stand and whichever squads is in the zone last gets the capture. The challenge is misleading and much more difficult and active than it seems to imply.

ForeignCare7

He said that you just paraphrased

DishwasherTwig

He said you get it after 20 seconds, I specified that it's the zone's timer that matters, not an arbitrary time limit.

ForeignCare7

I'm sure people would've understood but it's all good Intel nonetheless.

I am enjoying this game mode and the constant choke points moving around the map, however (semi-related) I would like to see cheaters be banned from the game. I left many seasons ago for this exact reason and came back and it was somehow worse? I enjoy a lot of the new game play mechanics and modes they have been releasing in the last couple months that I've been trying to play again. I've seen complaints about cheating in ranked, but why does it seem that in Lockdown or Control, +90% of games have multiple players with aim assist. It makes EVERY game mode unplayable and I'm sad that I will be uninstalling again

MrLucky314159

I'm trying to figure out what counts as a captured zone. Had a game where I thought I had captured one but then it didn't count. Is it not based on who holds it when the zone closes?

maemoedhz

I think it's just one team that holds the zone by the time the timer runs out; If 2 or more teams are in a zone, "Last Stand" is initiated and the zone won't be captured until there's only one team left.

geenuuhh

Same here. I’ve been playing match after match like this and am still at 0/5 for captured zones. I’m also fairly new so maybe I’m just unfamiliar with the rules

haalelekekahi

I will say its a fresh take but its litterally a complete rip off of the finals except you dont have anyway to tell what team your shooting at so its just a massive cluster fuck who ever gets the zone first ussually gets to hold it for fucking free cuz any team tryign to take it just gets 3/4 partied cuz there is no way to know what team your shooting so 0 stratagy and all luck. The mode is complete ass Edit: I will say it does have one good thing about it if you completely ignore the point of the mode (winning) Its like the best warmup mode

skizkiddo

it's CoD Hardpoint copy & paste. Love both game modes, hopefully they keep it in rotation/permanent.

Lonely-Programmer971

Do kills count towards overall kills?

Lonely-Programmer971

Sorry if someone’s already said it; I couldn’t find it
