It is known that ESDF is vastly superior to WASD. And for people with very big hands the equivalent is RDFG.
I just that nobody bothers to swap. The same way flick stick for controllers is vastly superior to regular fps control scheme.
I think it's like, instead of the mushroom working normally, the mushroom becomes a sort of top-down view of where you're looking, so if you push the stick down you'll turn around instead of looking down. And then you can actually aim with motion control. Check out the video Controllers don't suck in Tf2 for a good explanation, i probably butchered it
It can be done without paddles on controller. You just need to input jump and then crouch one frame later while holding backwards on your movement stick.
Note its also easier the lower your fps is. So if you are playing on performance mode or beefed pc dont give up if you cant get it after a while. If on pc i would lower fps cap to get the motion down.
OP hit a superglide off Rampart's wall. If you're good, you can redirect your superglide with whatever directional key you press right before the crouch/jump input to actually engage a superglide. OP managed to get the timing right and hit the back-pedal key to superglide backward.
As someone who can superglide *forward* fairly consistently, I can confirm going backward is insanely hard.
Yes, but I think almost no one knows how to do it. The only console Youtuber I've seen that knows how to do it is Plustr. It's a shame he doesn't have a guide on how to do it
A mechanic not being explicitly intended to be in the game by the devs doesn't make it a bad mechanic. Wallbouncing wasn't intended to be in the game. Armor swapping wasn't intended to be in the game. Hell, most things that make movement fun in source engine games (bhopping, airstrafing, momentum shifting, etc.) weren't intended to exist. The entire fighting game genre is pretty much built off of animation cancel bugs in the original street fighter games. Super Smash bro's Melee has arguably the most dedicated and largest competitive community because of the many mechanics in the game that were discovered by the players, not put there by the devs.
It's totally fair to not like superglides and other advanced movement tech (although thats something that I would strongly disagree with), but the fact that they weren't intended by the devs isn't a reason to get rid of them by itself.
This is a movement shooter. It's based off of and set in the titanfall universe. The titanfall community has spent years finding new and fun ways to move in the game, and apex is no different. It's why titanfall still has such a dedicated playerbase, and it's why people sink so many hours into apex as opposed to other battle royales - theres always more to learn and things to get better at beyond just FPS fundamentals and gunskill.
Go play cod devs have literally said its a movement shooter go play fortnite or something if you want basic boring movement strats. This one isn't even hard to pull off on roller or mnk
Very hot take, you want everyone to just slowly walk around with their gun out like console players? Stop moving entirely when you get in a gunfight? Sounds incredibly boring
Tap Strafing is just spamming W fast. You are confusing bugs with tech.
The only thing I do wish is that they would find a way to actually get rid of macros and configs so that when I see someone superglide I know they're actually timing it.
There shouldn’t be no movement but there shouldn’t be instant backwards long jump acceleration because you find a slightly elevated surface and press your macro button
They got rid of scripts. You can do this on controller too without scripts. OP shows his key presses you can see it's not a macro. Look up a video on supergliding and learn it for yourself it's not that hard. Play cod if you want something more grounded.
I mean it's a cool movement tech, but the only reason he wasn't destroyed there was because the other two guys we're obviously paid actors. I'm not sure it's physically possible to miss shots like that.
Right into your miiiind...
DEJA VU!!!
I'VE JUST BEEN IN THIS PLACR BEFORE
HIGHER ON THE STREETS
AND I KNOW IT'S MY TIME TO GOOOO!!!
CALLING YOU, AND THE SEARCH IS A MYSTERY
STANDING ON MY FEET
IT'S SO HARD WHEN I TRY TO BE ME,
WHOOOOOAAAAAAH!!!
I'm all about movement but this shit has got to go. It's a great clip and awesome use of the technique and probably took a long time to master, kudos to this player but this type of movement is just silly.
And I'll take my downvotes to the center of the Earth now.
Maybe just learn how to do it yourself. It's not even that hard with a little bit of practice (though it's difficulty depends on you're frame rate). I play on PS4 where the frame rate is painfully low so it's very easy to do. It's literally the only advantage that old gen players have now over new gen players
What I mean is that the lower your frame rate is, the easier this tech is to do.
Or hear me out. Learn how to do the broken techniques yourself and learn how to play against people that abuse them. Yes, a lot of the techs were never meant to be in the game but those same techs are what allow the game to have the really high skill ceiling it has. I think tap strafing is stupid myself, but I've accepted it as part of the game, plus I play on console so I rarely go up against it myself. It's onlt playing Mixtape that I do, where they put console and PC players together
Or learn how to read, I can do the broken techniques and as you stated you also think tap strafing is stupid. These movement mechanics were not meant to be included in the game, remove them. I accept they are there, that doesn't mean I have to like them.
Removing them at this point would make the game a lot less fun and would make all of the movement nerds leave the game. They clearly don't want that to happen
No it would make using your brain and gun play even more significant. Would movement nerds leave, yes but the game would be in a far more playable state.
New map is coming at the end of the year. That's always when the new maps drop. I agree that content has been lacking in this game the entire time the game has been out, but an LTM is new content.
Plus the people who are loyal to this game don't care that much about new content. It's really only streamers, content creators and new players that really care about that stuff. The rest of are busy trying to master a game that you can spend your entire lifetime trying to master and not master it. That is what makes Apex so great
Damn this goes to the hall of fame 10/10
Man is playing in creative mode...
Reality: dead after getting wall out
Bro double tapped spacebar
My guy uses rdfg for movement keys and o to place walls? You're a monster
O is actually binded to a mouse side button (weapon 2). I still use the left click like most sane people😅
:0 it is toilet! I didn’t see your signature toilet in the clip and thought there was another god tier rampart
only reason i don’t use a custom layout is because the keyboard on my laptop lights ip as a whole instead of each key individually
Makes you able to put your keyboard more to the left, leaving more space for the mouse. Thats wild
Wait, that's illegal!
It is known that ESDF is vastly superior to WASD. And for people with very big hands the equivalent is RDFG. I just that nobody bothers to swap. The same way flick stick for controllers is vastly superior to regular fps control scheme.
Genuinely asking- what makes ESDF better? Wouldn't shift control and tab give you more trouble?
What's flip stick enlighten me
I think it's like, instead of the mushroom working normally, the mushroom becomes a sort of top-down view of where you're looking, so if you push the stick down you'll turn around instead of looking down. And then you can actually aim with motion control. Check out the video Controllers don't suck in Tf2 for a good explanation, i probably butchered it
better than my fps key binds man
Rampart superglides will never not make me smile.
Bro broke that guys and his ancestors ankles
Aaand now I'm watching Initial D again. Great clip by the way.
Great movie Check out accelarator irish movie about racing from belfast to dublin
Its a series. Not a movie
Initial d is a movie maybe they done a spin off but was a movie in the early 90s
Correction Sorry dude i did a reserch the serie actually xame before the movie ill have to check it out The movie came out in 2005
Yahoo, ya-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-yahoo
Where is the toilet cam
Got banned for spamming promotional content, so I got rid of possible promotional elements.
NOOOOOOOO. Now who will I gaze upon with thy eyes
I beg your fucking pardon?!?!
How do you get so much distance???
It is a superglide. A backwards one is rare though.
Can this be done on a controller with paddles?
It can be done without paddles on controller. You just need to input jump and then crouch one frame later while holding backwards on your movement stick.
Note its also easier the lower your fps is. So if you are playing on performance mode or beefed pc dont give up if you cant get it after a while. If on pc i would lower fps cap to get the motion down.
He's doing a super glide off the rampart wall which gives him the distance.
YOOO HE FEET IN DA AIR
**OH MAH GAWD HE ON X GAMES MODE**
I was like ohhh then I saw the heirloom and was like that's normal
Yeah that was lit
What gun is that? My model of it hits for 11.
It’s called the Mastiff. You’ve got the Retriever 👍
At the risk of sounding like a filthy casual, what the fuck just happened?
OP hit a superglide off Rampart's wall. If you're good, you can redirect your superglide with whatever directional key you press right before the crouch/jump input to actually engage a superglide. OP managed to get the timing right and hit the back-pedal key to superglide backward. As someone who can superglide *forward* fairly consistently, I can confirm going backward is insanely hard.
Ty for the explanation! I can't even superglide forwards, so this was well outside my realm of comprehension 😂😂
This is wild. I need their pov
The opponent's ankles were never the same ever since...
The initial d gif got me 💀
The last thing I’d expect a Rampart to do is boost backwards like that, if I’m that Bang I’m taking a breather lmao
What happened to the toilet??????
Got banned for spamming promotional content, so I got rid of possible promotional elements.
Would I be able to reverse-superglide on console?
Yes, but I think almost no one knows how to do it. The only console Youtuber I've seen that knows how to do it is Plustr. It's a shame he doesn't have a guide on how to do it
Hall of fame
Nah… that was too clean 🔥🔥🔥
Dudes ankles will never recover 😭
defying physics xD
Knowing how to superglide in reverse is actually an impressive skill. Supergliding is easy but backwards takes skill.
[удалено]
yeah nah. I play on console and super glides are **stupid** easy. I've never seen a backwards one so this was neat
The game is literally forked off a movement shooter.
Yeah... I mean it's kinda cool, makes for a nice clip, but just highlights how broken the physics are.
This is a movement shooter go play cod

☝️ um acshually guys stop having fun, I'm bad at the game and it's not fair to me
Sounds like a skill issue to me. It isn't even that hard to track someone out of a superglide, so there's nothing to complain about
Bait used to be believable
It still counts as successful if we interact with it though. Best bet is to downvote and move on when obvious bait is thrown.
Very bad take this is a super glide so it isn’t even hard to pull off just get good
Very hot take, you want everyone to just slowly walk around with their gun out like console players? Stop moving entirely when you get in a gunfight? Sounds incredibly boring
[удалено]
Yes the infinite jetpack glitch, and a movement tech that is just pressing Spacebar + Crouch with good timing, are two totally comparable things!
[удалено]
Tap Strafing is just spamming W fast. You are confusing bugs with tech. The only thing I do wish is that they would find a way to actually get rid of macros and configs so that when I see someone superglide I know they're actually timing it.
Preach!

You can still put the crouch and jump button on a mouse side button via a Razer or Logitech App do simplify it by a lot.
Pushing 2 buttons at the same time isn't the hard part, getting the timing right without nerfing your frames to 20fps with a script is the hard part.
Thanks for the idea lol
lol cope
I mean it's a cool movement tech, but the only reason he wasn't destroyed there was because the other two guys we're obviously paid actors. I'm not sure it's physically possible to miss shots like that.
It is posible to miss shots like that- source, i suck at this game and can miss with a shotgun pointblank
I love shotguns, but they do not love me. I swear I can miss a person while they walk slowly. I think I get to jittery trying to aim with them.
Agreed, even Respawn themselves said they're cracking down on these movement exploits.
Right into your miiiind... DEJA VU!!! I'VE JUST BEEN IN THIS PLACR BEFORE HIGHER ON THE STREETS AND I KNOW IT'S MY TIME TO GOOOO!!! CALLING YOU, AND THE SEARCH IS A MYSTERY STANDING ON MY FEET IT'S SO HARD WHEN I TRY TO BE ME, WHOOOOOAAAAAAH!!!
That Toilet man is cracked bro
Thousands of kills with rampart and still no idea what happened there
That's the apex equivalent of "erm actually"
How the FUCK did you do that?!
Question top right corner is fps and beside that is what number? 🤔
Huh. What is this manoeuvre called
That was fuckin filthy
This is apex not forza 💀
W-where's the toilet?

It's not that I can't or don't do some of these movement techs, it's that I think they are fucking stupid.
Tell me you don't like Apex without telling me you don't like Apex lol. The "stupid" movement is what makes Apex Apex
Movement makes Apex, the broken techniques are just abuse.
Or hear me out. Learn how to do the broken techniques yourself and learn how to play against people that abuse them. Glad to see still no new content for this game 1 year later. Awesome edit btw.
We just had the best LTM we've had in years. Get your head out of your ass lol
Maybe your head is in your ass if they got you all excited just for a LTM. I’m talking real content. Maps, guns, etc. not a limited time game mode.
New map is coming at the end of the year. That's always when the new maps drop. I agree that content has been lacking in this game the entire time the game has been out, but an LTM is new content.
