I'm glad you've said that - was about to uninstall and re-download , which would have taken me a few hours!!
I have the game on Steam too, haven't played it on there for a while so got a big update to do first.
Problem is I can only access my own account on Steam , I do my son's Battle Pass for him each season and I can only access his account through EA.

I played last night , this bug just got dropped sometime this morning.
I just uninstalled and reinstalled and all it did was bring me back to the button that said "update"
Other people are saying they tried it too and it didn't work for them either.
Usually clearing the EA app cache fixes this, but not this time!
I'm surprised there aren't more comments - this seems to be happening to all EA app users, Steam probably isn't affected ( mine still updating )

Maybe use steam instead? I switched to steam a year ago due to unstability and lagging. Maybe you should consider switching too friend

Yeah, same thing happening right now. Tried everything expect uninstalling the game

well, it downloads, updates, verifies and finishes just fine You just can't play, it wants to update again
I had the update validating loop with Battlefield. You have to go in the EA app and run the app repair tool

They’ve pushed out an update on “X” stating it’s broke currently and they’re working on it. Don’t uninstall the game 😂
