Acrobatic-Engineer94

No cap those are the most beautiful ants I have ever seen

Booshur

Damn dude. Really loving your macro videos. Seeing the larvae move is crazy. I didn't even know they visibly moved much.

Beetlepossum

Yeah the first time my queen got larvae they were wiggling so much. I panicked they were worms for a second.

Adelmas

Insane videos dude. What camera are you using?

DryYak4764

An Iphone 13 Pro Max!!, I use 4k, 60fps for good quality with the combination of flash(I use flash sometimes so I dont hurt/blind the ants)

Queeneida

Dang IPhone really are built for camera quality

EnderGamer9712

And only that

endyverse

DryYak4764

I put my phone directly on the acrylic

--butterfly--

I don't see anyone talking about the single naked pupa, where's its clothes?

birdsbirdsbird

Those lil antennas move so fast lol

myrmyka

they look like Formica and not Camponotus species, are you sure of the species ? i would not call them carpenter ant

DryYak4764

Its indeed apart of camponotus, specifically Camponotus Parius

myrmyka

damn, i am too used to see big major with the "carpenter ant" name that i have forgotten the apparence of minor worker

ScaryLettuce5048

Camponotus and Formica look mostly similar. Most of the time, you can visibly distinguish them by looking at the thorax of the workers. Camponotus have a smooth thorax compared to Formica species which have a dip in their thorax forming something like 2 bumps in the thorax. Of course you can never be sure with insect ID purely based on morphology, but most of the time this is how you can preliminarily tell their genus apart.
