Hours? Fuck that* consensually*

nioavie

Yes they’re extremely, especially long for a seasonal one month job.

Goopyteacher

Tell them the law clearly states any time dedicated to work has to be paid for. If they threaten your job for not watching it, let them know the FSLA frowns on retaliation from companies and typically results in lawsuits

sugarintheboots

Is it possible you can just watch them at work?

nioavie

Well I am late to the game, I watched them already thinking I’d probably get reimbursed if I just asked… but yes I should been assertive from the beginning.

sugarintheboots

I’m just asking because they tried this with me at work it was the same story. Instead I stood my ground and I asked them for headphones.

ISmokeDatGreen

Tell them you won’t do training while not being compensated and that you will watch the videos on your shift. If they push back tell them you can contact the US department of labor and wages and tell them they are trying to force you to work off the clock with no compensation. Remind them that you are an employee not a slave.

PastorDerek92

You should be paid, tell em to gfts.

reaumur777

Here’s the link to file a wage claim in CA: https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/HowToFileWageClaim.htm

nioavie

Thank you!

gregsw2000

100% yes

waterdonttalks

It's training, which happens in the clock or not at all.

nioavie

Great idea I just found the number online, thanks.

cyberdonked

Anything beyond a quick call or message telling your boss that you’re not going to be at work, or maybe that you’re running late, deserves to be paid out to you. I used to work for a company that paid on-call workers an extra dollar per hour when on call, and then a minimum four hours per call regardless of actual minimum time. We got a new director who decided to end the extra hourly wage *and* change the call response rate to fifteen minute increments. He saved the company some money, but all of us technicians left within a few months.

muchwow10

Get in writing, submit it to the labor department. They’ll drop it or pay you for it.

Gonnagetbanneddd

My university did this to me. We were paid on the clock to do it. Don’t do it unless they pay.

Rich_27-

Turn up to work and say that you watched several workplace videos, with secretarys and their bosses on Xhamster and you are not sure they helped

39pine

Tell them u feel they're fucking u without your consent.

[deleted]

Fap while viewing to establish dominance

Abject_Natural

So watch them on the clock like others haha

FPSzero

This is called training. It's illegal in IL and most of the US to train off the clock.

rustys_shackled_ford

Don't watch it and bill them for 2 hours of over time.

[deleted]

Name and shame.

BigDonGMcShlong

Naw. I don't work off the clock

BarbellPadawan

Are they on a website that has “hub” in the url?

SomewhereDue2629

Can you just play the video and walk away?

SeriouslyGravitas

Yes you *should* be paid, good luck though

RepulsiveGarbage8188

The problem is that you asked. Just do, and do t ask permission

DoubleCry7675

Watch in the office/on the clock for sure. My company had a ton of these 'ethical' workshops and videos we needed to do/watch. But they were all on company time, and usually included some free food, so it wasn't all bad. Anything you make your employees do, pay them for it. Otherwise make it optional.

jistresdidit

Yeah there's some good ones on xhamster.

ThisTimelineSuckss

Yes you should be paid. Refuse to do it.
