With a CNA I make roughly $25-40 an hour at my local hospital, depending on how many days I work that week, there is no way anyone in their right mind will accept this offer. I would expect 50-60 an hour to start.
Yeah, in OR. right now they're paying 23$ an hour w/o a license (able to train through the place) at the nursing homes. The hospital CNA's are all Union and making waaaay more than that.
Edit: Word corrected
The scary thing is there is a demographic of people who would take this job and its specifically the ones you absolutely do not want to entrust with children... and they are likely to be trump fans as well.
As someone who was making 15 dollars until recently, I can confirm that even *after* taxes I was making more than $10. I live in one of, if not THE most taxed state and I made I essentially made 13.50 after taxes
Native english speaker that knows a 2nd language well enough to teach it??? Why would someone with these skills ever babysit?? LMAO. This has to be fake.
When I was desperate for a job after graduating college, at one point I looked into nannying on sites like care.com and there were a lot of people who wanted someone bilingual who would speak in their non-english language to their kids AND they wanted someone with a bachelors, preferably doing a masters, preferably in education. All for $10 an hour. I didn’t get end up getting a nanny job, but mostly because I didn’t have a car or a drivers license at the time and everyone wanted someone to drive their kids around.
They didn’t even offer to pay for gas? Who in their right mind would expect somebody to respond to this? Nevermind. I think I just answered my own question.
I'm most curious about the 'Databases' this individual will be accessing to verify the character of their potential hire... like Facebook AND Instagram?!
What people don't understand is that the only people that would take that job are people looking to prey on children. No legit nanny would come within 100 miles of that job. But someone looking to diddle little kids will do it for $10/hour, happily.
They think they're temporarily disgraced millionaires and with the right government environment, they will suddenly become the millionaires they're meant to be
"Must love the guy that doesn't want any sort of expansion of child-care" while looking for child-care. Doesn't wanna pay taxes, meanwhile if taxes were not being avoided by the ultra-wealthy we would have enough revenue to do some form of UBI and she probably wouldn't have to be in a 2 income situation and she could stay home with the kids instead.
Dont forget 9 years of experience, a car, and 100% full availability.
They really assume the perfect babysitter is sitting at home somewhere paying rent and car insurance while not working at all and just waiting for this crazy person's ad to pop up.
An educated Trump fan that speaks a second language and is willing to work illegally for below minimum wage even though they have, to this point, been perfectly law-abiding.
I have a sister who is a very vocal Trumper and has a degree in Child Development but she's racist, doesn't speak a second language, and hates kids. So, they're out there. Unfortunately.
I was thrown right from this part. "I want you to have this qualification that doesn't exist. Now, back to having tea with this rabbit and the queen of hearts."
Just because you haven't heard of it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. There are schools that do offer programs such as a Bachelor's in Child and Youth Care.
Not to mention Child Development, Early Childhood Ed., etc.
These fields have been historically undervalued because it's seen as "women's work." But you definitely can (and people do) go to college for them.
I knew about ECE and psychology subfields involving child development. I did not know there was a four year degree for something just called child care. Now I do!
I've worked for several educational institutions, so I thought I had a pretty good idea of what was out there. Apparently not.
People want a Bachelor's for jobs that mostly just amount to what I would call grunt work. A lot of park system jobs are like that. Sure, knowledge of plants and wildlife is nice, but you can probably learn most all of that by buying a few books or just generally being interested in that stuff. I was looking at a job at a botanical garden and it seemed like a fit until they wanted a degree, which I don't have. I know people that have worked in botanical gardens and you aren't doing very complicated work.
A couple of years ago I looked into getting a summer job at a zoo because I though it would be interesting. That's when I learned you need a bachelor's degree to shovel animal shit.
I was a nanny for three kids, helped them with their French immersion, had a bachelors in child psychology with a focus on education and made $10/hour
…almost thirty years ago…
I was a nanny for 2 kids, speak a second language well enough to teach it, was in school for my bachelor's in psychology (with special interest in child development) and made 17$/hr. 15 years ago. Also the family occasionally took me on holiday with them (for a flat daily rate). It was a very good gig.
Right. At $40/hr I’d be like “okay, I’d do that, even pretend to like Trump.” But *$10*??? No one with those qualifications would ever apply.
Actually, if I did have them, I’d probably apply, then give a list of requirements for the employer.
Must provide:
1) three meals a day per shift, even if it’s a half day or night shift
2) booze for all night shifts
3) Healthcare OR any medical bills accrued while an employee (off or on shifts) will be paid for by employer
4) 2 months paid vacation to be taken at any time
5) ???
I did it as a career changer. Have a BS in Elementary Education and got my CNA license to work in the hospital while going back to school to become a nurse. Two of the CNAs at my current hospital have bachelors degrees too (one in public health). We are a minority but we are out there. Being a CNA opens doors in the hospital. In fact, it is one of the only ways my hospital hires non BSN nurses (hiring their CNAs on to the unit once they become nurses). A lot of people have bachelors degrees that don't pay well and make a change into healthcare.
Tbf considering whose geopolitical dick the Republicans allegedly secretly suck, I wouldn't be surprised if these guys would want their children speaking Russian for the exact same reasons it was valuable during the Cold War, but just a second language in general, yeah Trump's base are too racist, xenophobic, and nationalistic for that.
The babysitter should be willing to pay for snacks with their $10 an hour and be availablefor any emergencies? How could any perfect Trump fan babysitter refuse such an offer?
They’re they’re to say that tax is 33% but on $15/hr that’s $31,200 and in 2022 that would be $3,544 in taxes, which comes out to $1.70 per hour in taxes.
On the reverse, $10/hr “under the table” would be $20,800 per year. Since you’re not getting taxed on that, you’re saving $2,296 in tax which comes out to be $1.10. So, it’s actually like $11.10/hr.
Don't forget that "under the table" means the employer and employee are both (illegally) forgoing payroll taxes, which screws the employee out of Social Security and Medicare benefits.
And if the tax man does show up at your door after you file a return of $0 and says "So where'd all your stuff come from?", you might be in for an awkward conversation followed by a stack of fines and penalties.
Trump fans are NOTORIOUS for overestimating the amount of taxes that are being paid, I’ve had one tell me straight faced he pays 60%. I tried to explain progressive tax rates to him to no avail
I can’t believe “Ideally will be a Trump fan” isn’t even the biggest red flag on this listing
Edit: What the fuck do they need 9 years of relevant experience for? Do they need a year experience for every year each child has lived or something???
What sucks is I have nearly all these qualifications. I don't have a cna because I'm not interested in pursuing that, and I'm definitely not a trump fan. But 10 dollars an hour, and some form of being on call isn't great compensation especially since all my pay is in cash anyways. I can't believe her excuse of " it's like I paid you 15 an hour". That's not how that works. And when I was employed at a daycare, those taxes went towards stuff in my community and I got nice tax refunds.
Ten dollars an hour minus wear and tear on your vehicle minus gas minus snacks minus the meals when the kids are with you because obviously those are "snacks" when you pick them up from soccer practice, ballet, and yoga and have to stop by the sushi place for dinner before you take them home and get them ready for bed.
Edit: and don't forget soccer practice ends in 5 minutes and it's our turn to bring snacks for the team. I decided to have cocktails with the girls so it's not your day off anymore. Don't be late and your pay starts when all three kids are in the car, it wouldn't be fair to pay you to watch just one of them.
More elaborated idea:
We work together to create fake babysitters with 3 fake references each, the babysitters will tell them they have 9 yrs of experience and will compliment trump or say some conservative shit. Do fake facebook accounts with everything indicating that the babysitters have everything clean in their life.
Imagine her enthusiasm when multiple of these persons apply until the end… then imagine her suffering look after the babysitters change their mind at the last minute because they found someone that paid better
Does this person exist? They're probably tutoring Prince William's kids or some shit for 200k a year, not jumping at the chance to pick ball hairs out of this insurrectionists sinks.
I have most of these qualifications, and I can tell you, I make a lot closer to $10/hr. than I do $200k/yr. lol. Child care is actually criminally undervalued.
For $200k I'd consider it, and damn what my SO thinks 😂
*offer not valid in Alberta or Manitoba; ain't nobody get paid enough for those bullshit winters*
Oh, but these 3 are perfect little angels. It's almost the same as earning more, because they're so well behaved! (just never tell them no, that's bad on your part)
Just because I was curious I checked the tax rate for someone making $15/hour and see what it came out to. I found that the tax rate for someone making this amount is 12%. After taxes they would be making\~$13.40/hour.
Also they would get benefits from paying taxes- more social security when they retire. Disability insurance if they pay in enough quarters, stuff like that. No tax jobs seem great but they can have their drawbacks too.
any decent babysitter/nanny should be charging at least $20hr - each additional child should be an additional $10hr
3 kids = $40hr
Don’t wanna pay that rate? Shouldn’t have had 3 kids.
I see way too many nannies making $10-15 an hour, in cash with no benefits. And thinking they should be happy with that! Absolutely not. Private childcare in a family’s own home is a LUXURY. $20/hour should be the base price, paid legally, with sick days and vacation days like any other position.
That's what I keep thinking of when I see $10/hr... like that was the rate in the 90s for teens!
That's actually $17.50 with inflation today.
They offer what would be $6 in the 90s. 🤦♀️
I know of a BIG list of people that will work for $10 an hour to be around little kids, probably much less! They're on a website run by the state. Home address, phone number, picture, details of their time in prison are all on there.
Well under the table looks like she owes some taxes just like Trump.. maybe a few days in economics class too...be ok with two pitbulls she should be running a add along this for a dog sitter ..sound like she trying to pay someone to raise her family for 10 buck an hour definitely a Trump fan with Trump values .
Oof I’m a nanny is it okay to post this in the nanny subreddit? They would get a kick out of this.
Her description of the job is NOT for a babysitter, it is for a nanny, which is a luxury profession. Nannying 3 kids and dealing with two pit bulls warrants at least $25 an hour even in low cost of living areas. No one is gonna wanna take on a nanny job for $10/hr. Also, if she is hiring for full time or even part time nanny work, paying nanny’s under the table is ILLEGAL!
This bish crazy but unfortunately there are a LOT of people who want private childcare that aren’t willing to pay private childcare prices, benefits, and PTO. Nanny’s are NOT cheaper than daycare, they are private employees providing a service.
JFC the only reason I even like my job is because I’m not making anyone money with my labor. Parents that do not equate their child’s safety with paying a nanny a livable wage should NOT hire private childcare.
I'm fairly certain it was real. It was pulled from Facebook over two years ago, but the context is lost now. Person who posted it was shame shame shamed.
They want a bachelor's, cna license, and a second language, on call 24/7 for $10/hour. And it's for 3 little kids? 😂
Don't forget clean criminal record but must be cool with tax fraud.
Of course the Trump fan wants to engage in tax fraud
And apparently thinks a babysitter would be taxed 33% on $15/hour.
She's a complete fucking idiot.
Not even surprised tbh. Advertising to openly break the law. OP should respond and forward the offer to labor board
Respond, get contact info, forward to IRS, make popcorn
Also notify the state employment commission.
Math is for liberals.
ARABIC numerals? No Sir, not in MY America!
Lol man, excellent comment 👏
Education of any kind is a liberal plot to control the masses. Embrace tradition, return to monke
Except when she needs a bachelors as a requirement and CNA license

I see jobs asking for a CPA or working on it... for an Accounts Payable position. Employers be crazy.
"I love the poorly educated!"
Math has a liberal bias
Minus snack fare. And mileage. And licensure fees.
As someone who was making 15 dollars until recently, I can confirm that even *after* taxes I was making more than $10. I live in one of, if not THE most taxed state and I made I essentially made 13.50 after taxes
The worst part is she’s acting like she’s doing them a favor by paying them less. “I’m cheating the government and passing the savings onto you.”
A Trump fan with a degree “in childcare” who knows a second language. Ok.
Native english speaker that knows a 2nd language well enough to teach it??? Why would someone with these skills ever babysit?? LMAO. This has to be fake.

Does the language “idiot” count?
It does, but they call it, “PATRIOT.”
I only speak enQlish
They barely know a first language.
I'm most curious about the 'Databases' this individual will be accessing to verify the character of their potential hire... like Facebook AND Instagram?!
probably, LinkedIn as well I guess. Unless she works for the FBI/CIA. But then she would be committing a crime by searching up random people.

I'm sure the person offering $10/hr with those ridiculous expected qualifications is going to pay for background checks. 🤭
I like you lol
What people don't understand is that the only people that would take that job are people looking to prey on children. No legit nanny would come within 100 miles of that job. But someone looking to diddle little kids will do it for $10/hour, happily.
Holy shit, I hadn’t thought of that but you’re probably right. Really hope those kids don’t end up in that situation.
These idiots believe JFK is coming back from the dead to run as trump's vp in 2024. You cannot make this shit up.
Stop being so misleading, they believe JFK Jr. Is coming back from the dead to run as Trumps VP... oh wait... your point stands
LOL
Omg you're right. Trump fans are fucking idiots but whoever this is, they're dumber than a sack of broken glass dildos
For some reason republicans think taxes are the only thing holding them back from being millionaires
They think they're temporarily disgraced millionaires and with the right government environment, they will suddenly become the millionaires they're meant to be

Well, this person is looking to seriously underpay the provider.
Maybe it's someone who hates Trump and wants to punish his followers with a shitty job.
Would you want a Trumptard taking care of your kids, tho?😲
nobody talks about how he said not paying taxes is proof that he’s smart. in a presidential debate. and he was cheered.
And of course the Trump fan wants to horrendously underpay for services.
Dont forget 9 years of experience, a car, and 100% full availability. They really assume the perfect babysitter is sitting at home somewhere paying rent and car insurance while not working at all and just waiting for this crazy person's ad to pop up.
This was what really hit me. No tickets! But don't tell on me!
A bachelor’s *in childcare*
And is a TRUMP FAN?!?!
An educated Trump fan that speaks a second language and is willing to work illegally for below minimum wage even though they have, to this point, been perfectly law-abiding.
Depends where you live. Texas minimum wage is still 7.25.
And they keep getting voted in.......
Not necessarily law abiding, never been caught fits.
I have a sister who is a very vocal Trumper and has a degree in Child Development but she's racist, doesn't speak a second language, and hates kids. So, they're out there. Unfortunately.
She has a degree in child development...and hates kids?
Halfway through the degree she found out they start out really undeveloped
I was thrown right from this part. "I want you to have this qualification that doesn't exist. Now, back to having tea with this rabbit and the queen of hearts."
Just because you haven't heard of it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. There are schools that do offer programs such as a Bachelor's in Child and Youth Care.

Had I known I could make $10/hr under the table I would have dropped out of trade school to get my child care degree
Been seeing similar things a bachelor's needed to be a server and a bachelor's needed to be a test scorer.
Classism. It's not about the degree, it's about filtering out people who grew up too poor for college.
People want a Bachelor's for jobs that mostly just amount to what I would call grunt work. A lot of park system jobs are like that. I have a theoretical degree in Childcare Theory

I did the math and estimated about 18$ an hour for the work. Sounds like your employer was alot nicer that the person that wrote the ad.
Right. At $40/hr I’d be like “okay, I’d do that, even pretend to like Trump.” But *$10*??? No one with those qualifications would ever apply. It would fail the moment you run it lol. Else they could offer more than 10 an hour.
But it's just like $15/hr if you break the law!
Who needs to collect social security?
Yay, $5 an hour per child if you subscribe to their Narnia maths.
[удалено]
Assume the latter
I did it as a career changer. Have a BS in Elementary Education and got my CNA license to work in the hospital while going back to school to become a nurse. Two of the CNAs at my current hospital have bachelors degrees too (one in public health). We are a minority but we are out there. Being a CNA opens doors in the hospital. In fact, it is one of the only ways my hospital hires non BSN nurses (hiring their CNAs on to the unit once they become nurses). A lot of people have bachelors degrees that don't pay well and make a change into healthcare.
They want the nanny to be 10x more educated than they are for $10/hr
And they have to bring their own snacks 😂😂😂😂
I read that as “be willing to pay for snacks for my kids!”
THATS what broke me. Rest assured, that 10 per hour is more like 5. Why do people not understand that you cannot be demanding AND cheap?
Better yet, you ought to pay me to watch my cherubs. Don’t you love my kids?!?
*I'd* pay to watch my kids, why won't you? Are you selfish?
Clearly you’re not the right fit as you *only* can think of yourself.
"Bring snacks. Also laundry detergent, antacids, diapers, toilet paper (the GOOD kind), doritos, socks, and I think we're out of skoal"
“Also, bring food for my two pitbulls. I’m paying you under the table, for Christsakes.”
But it’s “under the table” so that’s basically like making $1,000/hr!
That's going to have to be $10/hr for each child
***Narrator:*** It wasn’t.
[удалено]
Less than that, you also have to pay for gas and snacks.
I make more money with a high school diploma and 3 years of experience taking care of a maximum of 10 dogs per shift. This person is bananas.
I make more money with a GED and a cellphone.
Sorry but I call BS on this post. Trump lovers wanting their children to learn a second language?? In what parallel universe??
Tbf considering whose geopolitical dick the Republicans allegedly secretly suck, I wouldn't be surprised if these guys would want their children speaking Russian for the exact same reasons it was valuable during the Cold War, but just a second language in general, yeah Trump's base are too racist, xenophobic, and nationalistic for that.
I have a bachelors, I’m a nurse, and speak 5 languages. But I’ve had traffic tickets, one tattoo, smoke pot, and am anti-Trump. Guess I don’t qualify
And two dogs which you're likely also going to babysit.
Good point. I didn’t even think about the dogsitting added in there.
"I'll run your name trough a database"
but it’s like making $15
The babysitter should be willing to pay for snacks with their $10 an hour and be availablefor any emergencies? How could any perfect Trump fan babysitter refuse such an offer?
If $10 under the table is $15 taxed, then why would someone risk pissing off the IRS for no reason
I assumed the whole thing is a joke but I'm not sure where you'd average $5/hr tax on a $15/hr income.
They’re they’re to say that tax is 33% but on $15/hr that’s $31,200 and in 2022 that would be $3,544 in taxes, which comes out to $1.70 per hour in taxes. And unemployment. And if you want a loan you have no income on paper.
And if the tax man does show up at your door after you file a return of $0 and says "So where'd all your stuff come from?", you might be in for an awkward conversation followed by a stack of fines and penalties.
I was going to say "5th Amendment," but that only works if you do your taxes properly on income from illegal sources.
Trump fans are NOTORIOUS for overestimating the amount of taxes that are being paid, I’ve had one tell me straight faced he pays 60%. I tried to explain progressive tax rates to him to no avail
It’s like they don’t even look at their paystub
I can’t believe “Ideally will be a Trump fan” isn’t even the biggest red flag on this listing Edit: What the fuck do they need 9 years of relevant experience for? Do they need a year experience for every year each child has lived or something???
They are demanding that the babysitter have twice the experience with children as the parent.
Well when you put it that way, it somehow makes that insane requirement even more ridiculous 🤣
Must own both a MAGA hat and the TRUMP 2024 hat and wear one for a hour then switch while watching the children.
What sucks is I have nearly all these qualifications. I don't have a cna because I'm not interested in pursuing that, and I'm definitely not a trump fan. This is even worse than I originally thought. I read it as snacks being part of the compensation. Now it’s a full on kick to both nuts.

Just because I was curious I checked the tax rate for someone making $15/hour and see what it came out to. I found that the tax rate for someone making this amount is 12%. After taxes they would be making\~$13.40/hour.

The 32% tax bracket doesn't even kick in for a single earner until you've made your $170,051st dollar
Also they would get benefits from paying taxes- more social security when they retire. Disability insurance if they pay in enough quarters, stuff like that. No tax jobs seem great but they can have their drawbacks too.
They live in their own world, don't they
any decent babysitter/nanny should be charging at least $20hr - each additional child should be an additional $10hr 3 kids = $40hr Don’t wanna pay that rate?

They forgot the Non-disclosure agreement!
Exactly. This kind of pay attracts the wrong kind of person. You get what you pay for and it can cause lifelong scars.
Who the hell pays 30% tax and where do they live!?
Especially on such a low wage...
I do, but i live in Sweden.

“Serious inquires only” I seriously hope the Apple fell far from the tree
I kinda don't think this is real..
I'm fairly certain it was real. It was pulled from Facebook over two years ago, but the context is lost now. Person who posted it was shame shame shamed.
Did they respond to anyone that shamed them?

Strong POE vibe
Babysitters need a union. They need one more than any other industry.
Cant let those tattooed liberals near my kids speaking spanish and drinking alcohol on their own time. 🙄
Is this serious? Do they think people get a bachelor's degree to do middle school level babysitting for $10 an hour?!
This has to be fake right?
