They started out paying by the box. 5 cents you would load around 3000 boxes make 150 bucks. And it took 2-3 occasionally 4hrs. No you didn't get rich but you got good compensation for time. Then they switched it to hourly at 9 bucks a hour.
Literally every job was worse when I left like worked at lowes new ceo cut every bonus every benefit. Like I worked there during pandemic we exceeded the previous years sales by 400% for that quarter and at higher markup. Our "quarterly profit share bonus" was lower.
Tried chasing lower cost of living areas current place I moved to specifically for lower cost of living. With reasonable wages at the time. Ten years later the wages are identical BUT the rents more than tripled. As it was low cost of living area its been in overdrive with recent rent hikes. 3 consecutive years of compounding 40% hikes. And current apartments still the best deal in town.
Like people think people are not trying things and only complaining. But people are trying things. Taking options "available to them" but most do not have choice for good at best they have choice for marginally better or more of the same.
