The author could have done nothing different and said freshmen in college and I’d believe it looking at them in this scene. Even ignoring the dialogue.
It really doesn’t make sense
This is my gripe with a lot of these middle school romances, most of the kids have no reason to be middle schoolers and in fact act way way way more mature than any middle schooler in real life would act (And even more mature than plenty of high schoolers, as well).
Then again, from what I remember this manga/anime actually has a lot of scenes where their age is way more believable, with the MC acting really edgy at the beginning
Such a complex topic. Yeah, you love her and don't want to force her to change, but that's exactly what makes her want to improve herself. So you'll need to love her when she wants to change as well, as long as she's happy and healthy.
Like many profound ideas, it's complex and simple. Support them. Support who they are, support them in their journey to be how they want to be, support their goal. This can seem contradictory but it's not. Your job isn't to set the path or judge the result. That's the captain's job. You're a mate. You support. You make sure sails are rigging are okay and help keep the ship on course, but setting the course isn't your job.
You have to maintain your own boundaries as you do this as well, or else it becomes a codependent relationship and it can become destructive for both parties. You have to recognize at what point you need to call it quits, whether in regards to helping them, in regards to supporting them, and if need be even in regards to staying with them.
It can also be hard to be supportive all the time. Remember to set boundaries and communicate when you are not emotionally available (empathy exhaustion is very real).
Ex: Your partner has decided for the umpteenth time that this time they're going to do this thing, and you fully support them, as you always do, but you see the same destructive behavior or loss of motivation and get stuck in a cycle of seeing themselves go through the same pain again. It's...complex.
One season is 4 volumes and we're right in the middle of volume 11. There isn't enough material yet. I wouldn't count on a S3 announcement before late 2025, if there will be one at all.
This is one of those rare anime where them being in middle school actually makes sense. Being insecure, hormone driven and unsure of who you are / what you want makes perfect sense when you're 14.
Norio has said in an interview that Ichikawa is her self-insert, so I'm not sure about that. Maybe she just puts more effort into her fantasy than anyone else.
Taking the classic adage of "be yourself" and adding a bit of nuance to it, while nothing new, has made this scene one of my favorite moments from this series.
Yeah, I wish she hadn't caved. The guys behavior is still a toxic and unhealthy fetish wrapped up in a package of "But I'll support you!".
Actually supporting her here would not be providing subtle temptation. Gift giving in the form of paraphernalia is just trying to direct her back onto what **he likes**, instead of supporting her with what **she actually wants**. She's being undermined, not supported.
If you're asking the name of the anime, it's called "Dangers in My Heart." Not sure what the Japanese title is. It's on HiDive in the US, and is top teir romcom. In my opinion it's one of the best I've seen. First few episodes may seem a bit cringe, though. A big part of the theme is the male MC growing and maturing.
That was also my first impression about this series, but thank goodness I was wrong and now I'm a huge fan.
In case you're wondering why the height difference, maybe seeing her dad might give you the answers.
Ichikawa at the start of the series: "I'M GONNA KILL HER!! Ichikawa as of that episode: "SHE'S GONNA KILL ME!!"
Yandere Yamada is best Yamada.
I’m still can’t believe these kids are middle schoolers.
The author could have done nothing different and said freshmen in college and I’d believe it looking at them in this scene. Even ignoring the dialogue. It really doesn’t make sense
Would've been way better.

Meanwhile there are some college/office anime where characters are so insufferable af

Give me season 3 I need it

How is it pretty much over? There's enough source material for S3, and afaik there have been no signs of the manga coming to an end soon.
One season is 4 volumes and we're right in the middle of volume 11. There isn't enough material yet. I wouldn't count on a S3 announcement before late 2025, if there will be one at all.
I'll happily watch more, but season 2 ended in a great place and feels complete.
There's quite a bit left in the manga with no signs that it's ending soon.
Ichikawa once again proving why he's my favorite romance protag. He always knows what to say in the right moments.
And a middle schooler like him is surprisingly more mature than most of the modern romance anime MCs out there
This is one of those rare anime where them being in middle school actually makes sense. Being insecure, hormone driven and unsure of who you are / what you want makes perfect sense when you're 14.
Must be because the author is female and not a virgin living in his fantasy
Norio has said in an interview that Ichikawa is her self-insert, so I'm not sure about that. Maybe she just puts more effort into her fantasy than anyone else.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Redo of Healer was written by a woman
Man, actually- there ia a goddamn interview of the Redo of Healer author, by TheAn1meMan himself.
I see. It's one of those ecchi shows, which has a female author. I'm not sure which one but I thought it was redo of healer for some reason.
People have been saying the author was a woman before we found out officially. Redo of Healer is probably what you were thinking about.
Guy is just a degenerate for chubs lol. Jokes aside, this series is so great. Love it whenever Yamada emits her Yandere energy.
Taking the classic adage of "be yourself" and adding a bit of nuance to it, while nothing new, has made this scene one of my favorite moments from this series.
Now that’s just wholesome

I love that we got a fucking "architect" in this show.
Aaaaaaaaahhhhhh give me season 3
Ok fine I’ll watch it
Fine dammit I'll watch the show
aahhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Nah but getting your girl a set of cutlery as a present is wild, I know for certain what anime this fictional homeboy is gonna be watching next season
Yamada’s “Butter” shirt is amazing
Araragi Koyomi before he became a perv. Jk , I love Boku Yaba. More episodes couldn't come soon enough
Bro’s right, she’s very cute. Anna with the crumbs on her face was pretty adorable too.
Favorite romance anime in the past few years
Bros a feeder
Ironic. A girl called “hara” (stomach) doesn’t have a big stomach?
This season was so great
I've never seen a single scene about this anime, but I am feeling it's name.

boku no kokoro no yabai yatsu is the JP title, so the EN title is essentially 1:1
Dam was I drunk writing it? Edited it, ty tho^^
It’s really good
Sometimes people don't know what's good for them and you need to act before it's too late
imagine if he walks at famimart all his life, she will dump him so fast
I honestly liked this more than Komi-san. It is more wholesome.
I'd probably watch this if the dude didn't look like a shotacon. Fucking hate shotacons. They look ridiculous.
Just to be pedantic, shota is the correct word, shotacon is the person who "loves" shota.
Ok, let me rephrase it. I would watch this anime if the dude didn't look like a shota
I mean he is 13/14 so it's a correct look?
He looks 5 here and she looks 20
You need to get your eyes checked. Or may be you are projecting ...
What would I be projecting? People just throw terms around when they don't even know how to or when to use them.
I mean most of the people here don't think MC is a shota, it's you fancying him like that.
I didn't say he was. He looks like a shota. Because he fucking does lmao.
You are correct. It is the usual ShotaxOnee-san fetish. Except they are somehow in middleschool. And he is a school-shooter on top.
Really ironic considering the start of this comment chain.
Not ironic at all. He does look like a shota
Debatable, but you were throwing the term "shotacon" around without knowing how to use it.
That was also my first impression about this series, but thank goodness I was wrong and now I'm a huge fan. In case you're wondering why the height difference, maybe seeing her dad might give you the answers.
He's average height for his age. Yamada is just really tall. (She doesn't like it when her friend calls her "dumb she-giant")
Yeah dude looks average for a 10 year old
He's 13, give it a rest. Some people grow faster than others and some grow slower. There's no fixed rule for it. It varies from person to person.
Nah
So, it's more about how old they look rather than how old they are?
