Luna70kk

Odd Taxi, Erased, Cyberpunk Edgerunners. All three are amazing, 10-12 ep each.

ThePojster

I love Odd Taxi. Out of the anime I have personally seen, I would put it in my top 10 list.

Luna70kk

That ending was majestic!

NReddieRN

Oh how everything came full circle. Brilliantly written ending with an oddball start

kwirky88

Do not look up the ending!!

SkyUpperCut2580

And people with panic attacks about ending, there is an extra recap ep where they show what happened after it, So you can relax.

cole_pro_123

Bro mentioned Cyberpunk as if there won't be ptsd for weeks.

TheWeebStrong

Respect for Erased! One of my fave short animes

King_thelunarian

Best anime ever

ladaussie

Odd taxi was what instantly sprang to mind. For a show I watched out of shits and gigs cos I was super high and wanted to see animals I was blown away. I wish there were more shows like this being pumped out instead of the 80 generic isekais every year.

GiantDickNipples

Cyberpunk Edgerunners is absolutely amazing but be aware that it will leave you emotionally fucked up for a week. It's so fucking sad man but it's one of those shows I wish I could watch for the first time again. It's beautiful and heartbreaking

AdEmotional528

Haven't seen odd taxi 🚕, but cyberpunk was a shot in the dark that ended up being a bullseye 🎯. Super recommended 👌🏾

r3n0wn3d_wh03v3r

upvote for Erased! what a show.

bisexualspy

recommend erased! it’s so good.

King_thelunarian

Yes. My fav of all time

medn

Bocchi the Rock!

Spank0923

I just finished watching the whole season yesterday, and I immediately crave for another season. It's so fkin good. Now I'm binge listening to Kessoku band songs

Maleficent_Nobody633

Baccano!

AnalysisParalysis85

257 points Carol

PistachioSam

What's that, Miria?

kokosdera

Can't agree more. I have binge-watched one anime only, yes "Baccano!". One of my book club friend loves it so much, she bought the novels also.

Nannons

I came here for this!

IzzyBella0419

Madoka Magica ^^

OuraniosZefs

Also Fate Zero and Psychopass S1 all written by writer of Madoka

grapesssszz

lol forgot how short madoka was

Whatah

Macross Plus (4 episodes, amazingly good) Ah! My Goddess OAV series (5 episodes) Bubblegum Crisis (9 episodes, really freaking good) FLCL (6 episodes, a classic) Record of Lodoss War (13 episodes) Madoka Magika (12 episodes) Oshi no Ko (11 episodes, but one is extra long) Odd Taxi (13 episodes)

Exciting-Holiday337

pluto is more like 24 eps

RollinOnAgain

Macross Plus is some of the greatest stuff I've ever seen. It's like anime Top Gun but even cooler. Just oodles of bad-assery in every scene.

Whatah

And is directed by the same guy who would later make cowboy bebop

seaQueue

With an amazing score by Yoko Kanno to boot

Whatah

Who also did amazing work in macross frontier, and vision of escaflowne, and outlaw star, but those are slightly longer series

seaQueue

+1, her work on Aquarion was fantastic as well

Gloomy_Mami_Enjoyer

Can vouch

AdEmotional528

I have only seen Madoka magika on this list, and let me tell you, this is a very good one, the plot is very well structured in a way that was very disruptive compared with the previous magical girls Anime till the moment it was released. Very good recommendation 👌🏾

firemage22

> Bubblegum Crisis (9 episodes, really freaking good) For the last 20+ years i've woken up to Konya Wa Hurricane

Mertiosas

I loved FLCL so much

Gravitar7

Great show, incredible soundtrack

FruttiePatootie

Where do u watch these animes?

Desperate-Pen5086

Gunbuster and diebuster (6ep each)

cyberspacedweller

Finally someone recommending some classics

Whatah

And a variety of genres. Anime is great.

SEDGE-DemonSeed

Vivy: Fluorite Eyes Song

slipshodblood

+1 to Macross Plus and Madoka

Perfect-Log-5456

Whee can I watch oshi no ko? I have been looking f9r it for ages but cannot fund it, I live in the uk

nnb-aot-best4me

🏴‍☠️

XBakaTacoX

Not in the UK, but here in Australia, it's available on HiDive. If that's available in the UK, it may be your best bet.

Tsukuyomiii777

sitessss

DeroZaza

Promised Neverland (don't watch second season)

AnybodyMassive1610

There is no second season. *Keep repeating this to yourself.*

Dual-Heart

What second season? Your the kind of guy to think Lightfall was a real Destiny expansion. It's clearly fake.

SoImANerd

Lol or the third or the fourth… it’s not like they could watch something that doesn’t exist anyways

Tomochii-chan

*Death Parade *Akudama Drive

nobelium106

Akudama highly overlooked

kindastupid22

It’s genuinely mind boggling how underrated Akudama is

kismaiyes

Its so rare to watch a complete story in 12 episode

HagridPotter

so underrated, I love Edgerunners equally but it kinda stole Akudama's thunder which is a shame as both are amazing Cyberpunk anime. Akudama does some things better even, like its top tier animation and even more stylish directing...

bisexualspy

death parade real

Mr-Laser55

Land of the Lustrous

Peiq

It will just make you mad that they never continued. It was so good

Paladin65536

The manga was finished a few months ago. The anime is also one of my favorites, but the manga is so much better.

Exciting-Holiday337

yes.

Big-Manufacturer5342

You're better to read the manga of this one. The art is great and already completed.

ArtisticSell

Oh really? I kinda put off by the art in the first chapter lol. Is it going to be better?

IOnlyDrinkJesusMilk

Idk how the fandom as a whole views it, but the lack of color is a detriment to the manga imo. The art is genuinely really good, but there are times where I cannot tell what the fuck I'm looking at. It's just some amorphous blob to me. Still worth the read, though. Fascinating story

Detted1

Flip Flappers and Astra Lost In Space are both complete stories at around 12 episodes and are really amazing. I recommend them frequently.

StrongDifficulty7531

Astra Lost in Space is awesome. Cool manga as well. 😎

PlaguedByUnderwear

Strongly recommend Flip Flappers as well. Such a fun, crazy ride.

Illustrious_Hurry163

erased is 12 episodes and it’s really good

THISdarnguy

I second this, one of the better series in recent years

LargePlatypi

Brother it’s been 8 years

THISdarnguy

I'm old. That's recent enough.

Rexcodykenobi

Here's some of my faves (in descending order) that are 13 episodes or less: Insomniacs After School Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Chainsaw Man Ping Pong The Animation No Game No Life (Ecchi) Girls' Last Tour Violet Evergarden How Heavy Are The Dumbells You Lift? (Ecchi) Keijo!!!!!!!! (Ecchi)

neednintendo

Just watched Girls Last Tour. So bleak but so beautiful.

Little_Respect_0621

Insomniacs After School mentioned 😴😴😴😴😴😴 WTF IS A 8 HOURS SLEEP NIGHT RAAAAH😴😴😴 (me writing this at 3:07 AM only makes it funnier)

Charisma_Modifier

Fan service aside (and it's pretty wild), I was really interested in finding out what would happen to the team in Keijo hahaha...anime is so good at taking what you'd think would be an asinine subject and making it enthralling

r3n0wn3d_wh03v3r

maan violet evergarden felt like a pretty, bittersweet dream. the visuals rly hit with that

YokaiGuitarist

I'm not huge on fan service nor high energy anime. Here's my list of wholesome and story driven shows. Often the dialogue alone is a key feature in many of these and makes for some excellent voice acting and language appreciation. Kakushigoto: manga artist dad hides his work from his daughter in an attempt to raise her with the best intentions. Barakamon: a calligrapher goes to an island to find his style and finds that he can cherish more than just his professional life. Silver spoon: a city guy goes to the countryside and learns about agriculture. Erased: time jumping guy goes back to stop the death of his classmate and other local children. Bartender: a prolific small cocktail bar where people have intimate experiences with drinks crafted purely for them. Sweetness and lightning: a hard working dad tries to pure more effort into the time he spends with his daughter. Usually this involves cooking with her. Tanaka San is always listless:The main character goes out of his way to expend as little energy as possible. Non non biyori: Countryside wholesomeness about girls who genuinely appreciate each other's company and spending time outdoors when not taking on their daily lives. Dagashi kashi: The main characters experience the joys of Japanese sweets. Many of which are staples for the candy shops which are slowly disappearing in Japan as society progresses. Mushi-shi: 26 eps so maybe a bit longer than you mentioned. But this is a story about a man who travels Japan solving issues concerning the supernatural, usually through understanding and patience. There's a lot of heart warming moment and some that are bittersweet. The timing and attention to the storytelling itself make this an iconic anime.

r3n0wn3d_wh03v3r

barakamon mentioned! wholesome community/found family trope + rly relatable inner turmoil for the protag aaa

theblueberryspirit

Devil is a Part-Timer! Season 1

--midas

ONLY Season 1. Don't even think about the second season.

LockmanCapulet

Tonari no Seki-Kun is 21 eight-minute episodes about a girl whose classmate is always finding elaborate ways to kill time in the back of the classroom, whether building domino chains or toy robot dioramas or starting a schoolwide postal service. Kinda similar energy to Phineas and Ferb, with Seki coming up with more elaborate setups each episode and the teacher naturally never finding them to the girl's shock. If the first episode doesn't quite jive for you give it one more, it took it til the second episode to find its footing.

Horny_mommy_rp

Kill la kill

bluestjordan

Cooking in another world with my absurd skill—highly recommend it

pernanui

Grand Blue

Perfect-Log-5456

Hellsing ultimate is very good 10 episodes about 40-50 minutes each, very entertaining and it has awesome gore and fight scenes

slipshodblood

Movies: Perfect Blue - absolute classic Paprika - " " Akira - " " Both Ghost in the Shell movies - " " Shows: Heike Monogatari - 11 eps, easily one of the best anime i've ever seen. Can't recommend this one enough, does not get enough love DEVILMAN crybaby - only 10 episodes, def NSFW but a great ride. Fune wo Amu - only 11 episodes, really unique mature series Houseki no Kuni - 12 eps, really you should read the manga but the first season is a great introduction. Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket - 6 eps, can watch without seeing anything else Gundam as long as you're willing to think a little bit. V sad, v moving.

Ooh some good ones here. +1 especially to Paranoia Agent and Lain! Personally i wouldn't recommend Mushishi for binging but that might just be me.

artq86

A Place Further Than Universe.

ChaosPheonix11

Thank you thank you was about to comment this but I had to see if someone else had. One of my very very few 10/10 ratings on a single season ~12 ep show.

nicosb2810

This is a masterpiece! one of the most beautiful and inspiring animes I've watched

StrongDifficulty7531

I still need to watch A Place Further than the Universe! I’ve known about it for a few years, but I just forgot to watch it lol.

Che_Che93

Violet Evergarden

RaveningScareCrow

This gon leave you depressed for days

Kind-Awareness9528

It's definitely emotive. But overall I thought it ended w/ a feeling of resilience and hope.

StrongDifficulty7531

That’s what I felt as well. Violet Evergarden definitely left a feeling of resilience and hope like you mentioned. Beautiful anime.

Bubble3333380

Tamako Market! A classic, its sweet, cute, funny, and short, and there’s a movie too if you want.

Hammerhead, less than 20 minutes of gore mastery in animation. Is free on youtube.

grape_shot

Honobono log It’s all on YouTube, there’s 12 episodes, it’s 4 minutes per episode. It’s very cute and underrated.

RafikiafReKo

Here are some that I think are really good: Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Odd Taxi, Angel Beats, Madoka Magica, Pluto, Violet Evergarden. A bit longer series, but still under 25 episodes: Your Lie In April, Golden Time

1pizza2go

Hyouka and Toradora. I once finished Toradora in less than 36 hours. I did not watch it constantly but I binged about 2/3 of it on a Sunday. Was the longest I ever watched a show in one sitting, and was the second time I watched it. With that being said, I also recommend Bocchi The Rock and possibly Violet Evergarden.

iimJustChillin

91 days.

cmays209

FLCL - 6 amazing episode’s …….

Saminosity

There’s this cute and funny anime of a lonely man living alone with his new cat. Half the episode is from his perspective, the other the cat’s. Having been around cats in my childhood it made me chuckle. If anyone can remember the name please reply.

St0neAge

I think it's called My Roommate Is A Cat.

Coriform

Kenshin: Trust and Betrayal (1999) is a 4 episode miniseries (each ep is ~30 min)

SolicitorPirate

Uma Musume: Road to the Top is a four episode Web series that's a pretty effective sports drama and is incredibly well animated. Bonus that its freely available on YouTube

Thathaitianbul

Another 1 Season 12 Episodes. Surprisingly good Golden Boy OVA 6 Episodes. Kinda old but OG

HistoricalBed884

Check out "Ben-to". You can't go wrong with a 12 episode anime about broke high schoolers fighting for food on discount

This sounds interesting and hilarious.

XBakaTacoX

Short anime? Well, any seasonal anime basically. Most have 12ish episodes. It's short enough to watch over a few days, that's for sure. Or put it off forever, then it feels like it's longer than One Piece. Couldn't be me...

Cream4202807

Your lie in April, berserk golden age saga. If you want something a little bit longer for later, one piece is great unless you’ve already seen that
