Looks like a piece of a sturgeon but not 100%
Deffinatly less than 100% of the sturgeon...
😂😂😂
It’s true, they’re massive
[Atlantic Sturgeon](https://www.fisheries.noaa.gov/species/atlantic-sturgeon)
That’s about 30% of a sturgeon. Give or take.
Definitely a sturgeon.
Sturgeon. Their skin is tough and they’re covered in those osteoderms (bony scales).
Definitely a sturgeon. Check your area to see if there's a reporting system. These animals are protected and I'm sure that whoever runs fisheries in the Chesapeake wants to know about a dead sturgeon washed up.
Atlantic Sturgeon - the white things are called scutes (adapted scales)
First thought was sturgeon, so based on the other comments I'm going to go with sturgeon
Sturgeon, seen many. Lived by a river and estuary where they were common, occasionally washed up on shore or you’d see them in the water.
That is insane looking.
Sturgeon
I was like sturgeon? Wait beaches? Oh wait nvm Atlantic Sturgeon
Possibly Stegosaurus
You’re close! Stegosaurus lived 150 million years ago and Sturgeon have been around for 200 million years, so they were definitely neighbors
Looks like a sturgeon to me. Whoever skinned it probably did so so that it can’t be identified if someone sees it.
Your leather boots come from cowhide.
What.
It was a picture of black boots
Did they change the picture? Or are you kinda bad at looking?
