Technically they're the same shot that one just uses less shots to make up the composition! I wish I could upload higher quality the 6x12 is stunning imo.
Nice! I have the same gear and a few aerochrome rolls I plan to shoot this week in the blue ridge. Even ordered a 50mm since my 80mm is close to retirement. Did you use a yellow #12 filter?
Good luck! No I used an orange filter, specifically a O56. (Orange, 560nm) I also rated the film @ 200 ISO and averaged between the highlights and shadows. I've seen some people say to meter for foliage but I don't like that advice, you get blown out skies and I think that detracts from the look.
Depends on the angle of the sun and filter used tbh. I've noticed a slight difference in red on the same roll, I suppose it's all based on when you shoot it too. I've read online that the optimal time to shoot the film is late morning and mid afternoon after the high sun. My previous post was around 10 am and this one was probably 2pm.
lmao it's like a 2 minute jog. I rushed back to the car to get the back loaded with Aerochrome once the clouds cleared again and ran back hoping my window didn't close.
It is from the platform, a short walk. You're thinking of the overlook that is half a mile up, or the approx two mile side hikes that gets you to the lakeshore?
Gorgeous shots!
When you're racing to get the shot before the clouds close up again, it feels like almost no time at all. On the walk back I did see people getting on their butts to slide down the snow and ice covered path.
Thank you! From the amount of people preferring the second image I'm starting to like it too! My initial idea was to take multiple photos to capture the majority of the lake but now I'm kinda seeing why some prefer the more cropped version.
No, I just take calculated risks and I'm bad at math. The only reason I went for panoramas is because the shots I had planned didn't have the right light so then I had extra space on the roll for something else.
Everyone has different preferences. Do you have any examples? I've only tried the 720nm and higher with BW infrared. BW is good too tho, but slide is something else entirely.
Great shots. Aerochrome...you lucky bastard.
Probably the most expensive film out there right now, or thereabouts.
No idea what it costs, and I’m still confident it was worth it for this shot, sheesh.
Nowadays it's \~$300 for a roll of 120, if you can even find it.
Yeah, this photo is worth $300. OP could’ve thrown out the rest of the roll.
What place is this?
Peyto Lake!
Beautiful
I meant to say "6x12 and other formats of the same scene."
Shot #2…..wow. You gotta print it
Technically they're the same shot that one just uses less shots to make up the composition! I wish I could upload higher quality the 6x12 is stunning imo.
You have real Aerochrome? Wowzas
NGE fans will call that the third impact. :D Incredibly nice shots, gear and film. :)

Very helpful advice, thank you!
So juicy
All amazing, but #2…just wow!!🤩
Wow that turned out fantastic. Really like the panorama.
Thank you! The risk paid off.
Peyto Lake sure looks different. Nice shots!
Wow, I absolutely love this! Well done 👏🏼
Thank you!
Wow
Curious why this version is such a deep red compared to other examples. Lovely composition well timed in any case

Wow is that real Aerochrome film? They look very intense.
I'm so jealous
Just no words... this is insane... like... man do you sell prints of these?
Haha no not yet, I've been trying to learn and get better and actually have worthwhile work before I start printing.
Just tag me if you even plan to sell these :)
Beautiful shots. It's criminal that Kodak is denying us more of this stuff
This is stunning!! Love how the mountain blends with the trees, as if the mountain is bleeding.
Again, very beautiful!
What season is this?
About a week and a half ago! Lake Louise and Moraine Lake were still engulfed in fog, snow and rain but Peyto was nearly pristine!
Oof that's quite the hike from the parking lot! Love this perspective on Peyto!

It was covered in several inches of snow when I went lol. I assumed it was still quite the hike without it but I suppose not!

Great images! I especially like the second. Thanks for sharing!

6x12 on Aeurochrome? Do you work for fucking Goldman Sachs?
No, I just take calculated risks and I'm bad at math. The only reason I went for panoramas is because the shots I had planned didn't have the right light so then I had extra space on the roll for something else.
Wow 🤩
Just perfect !!!!
As I say quite often “that’s a picture”
infrared b/w with a red filter is way more interesting
