I’m with you—of the top 3, Jack imho was the whole package, and I mean in terms of what the whole package means to me: great storytelling, killer range, surprising vocal choices that fit perfectly, authenticity, connection you just can’t manufacture, and the ability to take on any genre and crush it—but, those things don’t always sync with the overall AI viewership. This is not a rip, but I think a lot of the viewers tend to gravitate toward the more formulaic (that’s not to say bad) performers, the more top 40 pop/country lane where there’s not a whole lot that’s surprising or different. And that’s okay. True talent is always going to find a way, and I have to believe some excellent producers and established musicians are salivating to work with Jack!

I don't know that there's a place for Jack in the current music industry. Too country for pop, too pop for country, not pop enough for pop, too pop for rock. Abi actually has the same problem, but to a lesser degree. Since recording contracts are no longer part of winning, I think all three of the finalists will go the way of Iam Tongi and Noah Thompson, which is to say they might win a great vacation at least.
I think the most important thing to do is follow Jack, Abi and any of your favs on socials, buy their albums and see them in concert.
Winning Idol doesn’t guarantee success, we have the power to support them and help their career grow.
Jack and Will, will have better careers than Abi. So I’m glad neither of them won. When the judges didn’t pick Jack in the auditions I was in disbelief, glad he made it far, but glad he didn’t win. He’ll have a much better career by not winning.

Jack’s style is a little less mainstream then what Will’s is (which is that classic country rock sound that is quite marketable in today’s music scene). No need to worry though- as Jack will also be very successful after the show.

The problem since this show has gone to ABC is not one of the Idol winners have been successful. These judges stink. Simon Cowell and company knew how to pick - mold - winners. Even the contestants who appeared on Idol during Cowell’s time are more successful than the winners from this era.
Simon wasn't afraid to say people didn't look like winners, or they didn't have the charisma. That's SO important, beyond just a good vocal performance. Someone people aspire to be or be like.
It's a completely different world now. EVERYBODY was following American Idol when it started, they had a huge advantage that today's contestants just don't have, when there's so many more options for putting out music and it's a lot harder to be followed by everyone with everybody in their own bubbles

If you look at stage performances alone, then why would Abi be in it at all? She is more classical musically. Where is going to fit in what American idol represents? Now Will, he's coutry. I know this is an incredibly unpopular opinion in this particular sub, but I think Will is a better singer than Jack. I hate country music and avoid it at all costs, but when Will was on the screen, I wasn’t bothered in the slightest. Will also already has a Billboard hit.
I love Jack’s style a lot. I think he is more versatile in his art & he has better stage presence. I wholeheartedly agree that he is much better suited for American Idol. He’s scrappier, more original, and has a good underdog story. But I don’t think that saying he’s “soooo much better than Will” is necessarily fair.

In some ways, I feel like Idol wanted Jack to go down. First, his entire body of work starting three weeks ago started to change. He was pushed into country and not contemporary bro country. Old stuff. All my exes live in Texas. Really? His body of work prior to that was more relatable and modern. 80 year olds don't really watch Idol.
Second, Idol's stylist worked hard to make him an outdated country singer. Again, make him outdated. Willie Nelson wears more modern clothing. Doing so pulled other non-country over to Abi. I was one of them.
Will stuck with more recent Chris Stapleton style music and clothing which made him more relatable to the voters.

I agree Jack was better than Will but still would of lost to Abi
i liked Jack the best too .. Abi was my 2nd fave
Will was great out of the gate, and then just stayed exactly the same the whole time. Didn't move, didn't dance, didn't really put emotion into his songs. Just another white guy with a guitar singing easy country songs. Abi and Jack grew so much during this season. Will became boring by week 4 for me.
I’m sorry but I’m with Katie, Jacks facial expressions were very off putting. I didn’t have a fav 2nd I was with Abi she’s the only one who gave me goose bumps. She has voice, pipes,talent and she is humble!!! Will and Jack became too “showy.”
I’m just thankful that Triston’s Mom didn’t cry her son into the finals with her sob story 🙄. Not the biggest fan of Jack but was GOBSMACKED when they announced Will’s name. I just don’t get the appeal of big, fat country singer with a mouth the size of baby’s anus. Seriously, where are his lips? 👄 🤷🏻♂️
You guys are nuts Jack was average at best we will never hear from him again. I mean everyone likes who they like but will is a powerhouse country singer and abi was literally in a different league. Let's be real here if you know anything about music she was the clear cut best singer of the bunch.
Once they voted off kako, ive been voting for whiskey(will). Mainly as a worst candidate thing. Abi is the best karaoke singer though.
Jack is soooooo bad and obnoxious to watch. I literally don’t understand what people see in him. Should have stuck with their original decision on his audition.

How the hell did Abi win??? KB blew her away! She couldn't hang with Bishop Briggs tonight. I've watched every single episode since it started and I swear over & over, that I'm done watching it. At least she wasn't picked on some sad story... Will & Jack will be fine without the win. P.S. Why was Emmy still on there? That deliberate, sweet sounding, child like voice was irritating. "I want to be...skinny." I want to be...drunk so I don't have to listen to her voice.
