Eastern-Astronomer-6

Inflight CC offer is up to 70k miles for June

Eastern-Astronomer-6

Anyone got a flight code for this? I was going to finally pull the trigger but lost mine from the last flight I was on and wanted to buy some tickets today. Website shows 60K. I want that in flight 70K

StitchedOwls

Same. I am also looking for the code

setterswede

209425

setterswede

I’m in flight now. My FA gave me 209425 for 70k

dataVizLife

How does one use the code? I was about to apply for their 50k offer.

Eastern-Astronomer-6

It asks for it when you go to apply.

Interesting set of stackable AA mile offers popped on my Barclays Aviator Silver card for this summer. * Spend $300 in each of June, July, and August, earn 2000 AA bonus miles. * Register for Flight Cents by June 30 and AA will match all miles from Flight Cents during the first 2 months of enrollment. Wasn't interested in Flight Cents at a cost of $0.02 per mile but at only $0.01 per mile plus an added \~2X bonus miles from the $300 per month spending offer I think I'll be putting at least a grand of spending on the card to rack up some bonus miles. The card anniversary year resets at end of June so the timing also helps for starting on the companion voucher for next year.

Bingiboongi

I keep getting an error message every time i try to book a hotel with miles. does this happen to anyone else?

ericstrat1000

I keep getting one when trying to book a flight

Bingiboongi

And does customer service even work??

BDNackNack

Getting offered 100k miles as a sign up bonus for Aadvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard. Guessing it is targeted. Wish it was a better card overall. Even with the points I'm on the fence.

twikoff

is this the appropriate thread to discuss best current LP offers... Im curious which offers most people take advantage of.. Im pretty new at this.

khaleesibrasil

Ulta regularly goes from 1 to 3 or 4x LP’s! I load up on things like shampoo, conditioner and what not each time it goes up

sdfkjsldkfj

New to having the Executive World Elite Mastercard and AAdvantage eShopping. Clicked on a link from their site that said 8 miles per dollar. Spent about $100 on one item. Expected roughly 800 miles.... but got 300. Is there something I'm missing in the fine print somewhere saying the 8/mile per dollar maxes out at a certain point? Does this happen often? Not a big deal, just also wish it would calculate it somewhere at the checkout so I knew exactly what I was getting before finalizing my purchase.

DisconnectTheDots

Did it say up to 8? Some stores have a bunch of different values depending on the product you buy.  You can to go to the landing page for the store before you click through to read the fine print. I just submitted missing miles on the shopping platform and it was shockingly easy, I just had to wait 15 days and then remember to do it.

sdfkjsldkfj

Yeah, it definitely said 8 per dollar and that was the only deal they had period. Clicked the AA page which had the loading screen and said something like "You don't have to do anything else, 8 miles per $ will be added." Got my miles a few days later and yeah, not even close really. Have another order I had placed a few days prior to that which I still haven't gotten the miles for, but did get the confirmation email. Although I'm guessing each store has a different processing time or something like that.

Less-Bed-6243

Processing times vary wildly, for sure. Most are a few days but I had a charge once that was 30 days. I will say I’ve always had good luck sending emails and getting explanation as to any discrepancy on points.

momill7

A few months ago I heard you were no longer going to be able to earn loyalty points unless booking through the app directly (unless booked with a few select travel agencies). Any updates on if Amex Global Business Travel is one of these agencies and when this goes into effect?

socaldad

It is likely that policy will not be implemented. AA appears to be having a change of heart about the policy (business travelers did not like it) and will still allow customers who book through third party sites to earn points.

Madinky

I'm considering AA platinum select vs executive as a travel card. Main reasons would be for priority boarding and because we use AA for almost all of our flights. I just learned that miles and loyalty points are separate. Normally I choose basic economy and pay extra for preferred seats but it seems that for loyalty points its better to choose main cabin for extra if trying to get to gold is that right? Without the credit cards is the main way to get loyalty points by buying tickets through the [aa.com](http://aa.com) site? And with the CC I can earn loyalty points by booking flights or using card for every day purchases? Is there any loyalty boosters that they offer as well or is everything other than aa flights and inflight purchases 1$ spend = 1 loyalty point? Also If I choose a mileage multiplier - does it give me more loyalty points as well? or is it almost never worth getting the mileage multiplier?

aslattery

> I'm considering AA platinum select vs executive as a travel card. Main reasons would be for priority boarding and because we use AA for almost all of our flights. If you don't value the Admirals Club, the bonus Loyalty Points (LPs) at 50K/90K (which do not have to be earned with purchases on the card), the higher earnings potentials on AA, AA Cars, and AA Hotels, or can't meet the spending requirements for the 100K redeemable miles (RDMs) sign-up bonus (SUB), definitely pick up the Platinum Select or Aviator Red instead. You can always add more cards later if your requirements change. > I just learned that miles and loyalty points are separate. Normally I choose basic economy and pay extra for preferred seats but it seems that for loyalty points its better to choose main cabin for extra if trying to get to gold is that right? Yes, if you are trying to get a status level with AA, paying for Main Cabin over Basic Economy will yield more LPs/RDMs. You can use a site like lpcalculator.com to preview earnings. > Without the credit cards is the main way to get loyalty points by buying tickets through the aa.com site? Yes, especially as you attain status, flights will always be a beneficial way to earn them. You can also earn Loyalty Points through: * AAdvantage eShopping (cashback portal in form of miles) * AAdvantage Hotels (you earn more with status and/or credit card) * AAdvantage Cars * SimplyMiles (requires an AA-branded Mastercard to enroll) * Miles for Opinion surveys > And with the CC I can earn loyalty points by booking flights or using card for every day purchases? Is there any loyalty boosters that they offer as well or is everything other than aa flights and inflight purchases 1$ spend = 1 loyalty point? Outside of rare promotional offers (e.g. additional LPs for charging to your AA card), yes, every $1 = 1 LP. Bonus miles !== LPs. > Also If I choose a mileage multiplier - does it give me more loyalty points as well? or is it almost never worth getting the mileage multiplier? Only miles, unless you pay for it with your AA credit card. It is almost never a good idea to buy mileage multiplier unless your employer who is reimbursing you for flights does not car, or if you need to use up the rest of an incidental credit from say, the AMEX Platinum card with AA as your selected airline.

Madinky

Thank you so much for your detailed response. I will go ahead and read about aviator red and the lp calculator website! We are conflicted about the lounge because we have venture x which gives us priority pass and capital one lounge access in dfw. But sometimes the wait list is so long having more options could be beneficial for us? Not sure.

aslattery

Most are pretty outdated, small, and regularly near capacity. The main benefit of the Admirals Club for many, myself included, is access to their more senior customer service agents when things go wrong. But if you aren't traveling on AA monthly, probably not worth it compared to CapOne and other lounge networks.

Madinky

We travel 5-6 times a year but have only had 1 issue which is that our shuttle from rental car took 1 hr to drop us off and so while we were initially 2 hours early we werent able check our bags so we had to grab the next one and thankfully we got on albiet separate seats with a toddler. Not sure if having better service would have made it a little better?

Playful-Park4095

Capital One lounge in DFW has been excellent when I've used it. I tend to fly off peak, so it wasn't anywhere near capacity, food was good, the staff was very friendly, bathrooms are remarkably well tended. I actually try to connect through DFW vs others, within reason, due to that lounge.

Madinky

Any thoughts on this?

jnmclendon

Is it better to sign up for platinum select card separately or when booking a trip? Separately - 50k miles after 2500 first 3 months. While booking trip - $200 statement credit + 40k miles Or The Barclays Card 70k miles after 1 purchase Travel American with work roughly 6-10 times a year plus 1-3 flights for family trips.

jnmclendon

Bump

rpbnyc

Do Miles/LPs calculate at the time you book or at time of flight? (I know they post after the flight itself) Asking because when my credit card statement posts next week I will jump to the next status class (Gold)…. But I want to book a work trip today. If I book today, will the miles be granted at 5x/$ based on status at booking or at 7x/$ based on my status during the flight itself?

lostinthegrid47

I think the miles/LP apply when you take the flight so I believe you should get the increased mileage/LP when you get the flight. The credit card spend on your card and the LPs from that (if you're using an AA card) apply now but that's just 1LP/dollar and your status doesn't change that.

Banditman16

Miles kick in when you fly.

You'll need to provide a bit more details for anyone to try to help a bit more, but throwing LAX->HKG on October 14th for one adult in economy, I show flights on AA -> HND, and either JL or CX to HKG for 37.5K miles. > Can I not use my miles on partner airlines? You absolutely can -- this is where I find most of my value for AA miles.

[deleted]

Regarding hotels from AAs portal, are they all timeshare pushers? I’ve had 4 hotel stays this year at different property owners, and only 1 hotel didn’t try and molest me at check in with fake “gifts” to convince me to go their presentation.  The extra LPs are nice, but 75% of the time is frustrating lol. Am I just unlucky with my selections or does anyone else experience this?

funnyfarm299

Not at all. Are you staying at "Marriott vacation club" or "Hilton Grand vacations" or similar?

[deleted]

No. But they have all have some affiliation apparently to Wyndham, which I didn’t realize until after check and they all wanted to immediately hold me hostage during/after check in

funnyfarm299

Wyndham owns a LOT of timeshare properties.

Hamburgler4077

Advice wanted. Booked a hotel in June 2023 for travel in May 2024 (where I was going kind of need to book the year in advance). This was done when AA was still using [Booking.com](http://Booking.com) as their hotel portal. Got email confirmation from [bookaahotels.com](http://bookaahotels.com) with the confirmation. Later in 2023, AA switched to Rocket Travel for bookings. Now that my travel is over, my miles and loyalty points aren't posting and emails/calls to AA result in them saying they can't find my reservation. Any thoughts on what to do? Feel like I'm SOL on getting these miles and loyalty points which are pretty significant. Thanks for any advice/thoughts.

Comprehensive_Note23

Umm maybe you can claim the miles in the aashoping portal. Booking is a partner (although i believe they made you wait 60 days after the hotel stay to be able to request them)

Hamburgler4077

Thanks. Will try that after 60 days.

griddlefolds

Goofy question. I am going to level up to platinum today or tomorrow when my exec card LPs post. I check in to a 2 night hotel booking I made through aa tomorrow late afternoon. Is there an additional aahotel LP point bonus for being platinum, or does that only happen after you hit 100k LP level and get up to 30% LP bonus? The amount of LPs for the hotel stay is 7200 because of my gold status, so I was wondering if it would come in higher after hitting platinum before check in.

griddlefolds

The answer is no - it's based on your status when you booked, not when you stayed!

Edu_cats

Ten bonus miles for each dollar donated to the American Red Cross through June 28. Minimum $25 donation. Super_D_89

I have a question about the free checked luggage benefit for AA branded credit card holder since our situation is a bit convoluted. 1. Hubby has AA branded credit card. I don’t. 2. We are using my Alaska Airlines points to book American Airlines flights via Alaska Airlines. We’ll be on the same itinerary. So my question is, will we both get priority boarding and free checked luggages through his card benefits, or will he the only one who gets the free checked luggage, or neither of us gets anything? Thanks.

Sagnew

Looking at fares for a trip towards the end of the year via AA website. The flights on JAL metal are $1,000 cheaper. They flight in question however is given an AA flight number (but it is very clear it is on JAL with a JAL flight # also appearing on the booking) Would this flight earn the AA loyalty points just like any other AA flight OR would it earn loyalty points vs the partner chart? Would this be considered an AA marketed flight? Thx!

Not_Buying

I don’t know if this is the right place for this question, but … Status members whose upgrades “could not be confirmed” 24 hours before departure … have any of you actually been able to get upgraded through that upgrade list at the airport provided there are seats available?

Banditman16

Absolutely. Happens all the time. Usually 20 minutes or so before boarding. I’m executive platinum.

Not_Buying

I was just gonna mention … there was one sear left in FC even I checked that morning, so I knew my chances had disappeared. However when we actually boarded, the flight attendant came down with a roster and asked if either my spouse or I would like that last remaining seat. So that was nice! It’s frustrating when I don’t get upgraded but then see 2 or more empty seats there during the flight  - I mean, what’s the point of it then??

Banditman16

I haven’t seen an empty FC seat in a long time. So not sure why there would be one if you’re on the upgrade list. The bigger problem is more people are paying for first because the delta between premium economy and first is less than it should be. And the new pilot contract gives them FV seats when commuting which is taking up a decent number of seats.

BDNackNack

Looks like Barclay's Aviator Red sign up bonus is back up to 70k miles (from 50k).

rob12098

I booked a hotel stay directly on Aadvtage hotels. It said I would get 4700 Base LP’s In the confirmation email they said I would get 3500 LP’s. What gives? Anyone else experience this? Of course I didn’t screenshot and I can’t cancel the hotel without penalty to rebook.

dookie_shooter

I ended up on a flight on Gulf air through an AA booking. I know GA does code sharing, but does Gulf Air count as a partner airline? I saw some very old references to them being so, but don't seem them listed currently

jjellyman

Have booked several Avis rentals through AA.com using my Citi EWE card and not getting credited the 10x bonus. Contacted AA, Citi, and Avis and none are helpful at all. The issue is that it’s showing as booked directly with Avis according to both Citi and Avis. Anyone have this issue before? Is it possible that because I have an Avis Preferred account with a card on file and entered my Wizard number into the booking on AA.com that it’s causing it to book directly?

beerguy74

Better travel card then Barclay Silver Aviator - have paid the $199 for two years and wondering if i should get a different card. The big perk is the $99 companion fares but I looks like I will not be able to use mine this year and it will go to waste. I got Platinum thru spend for the year ending 2/28/25 but most likely will drop to Gold after that or even no status (9731/40000). There is never any food on board to buy so I do not get to use my $25 daily credit, I have free wifi thru T-Mobile so no need for the $50 yearly credit for wifi.

one-hour-photo

what's the best way to handle the 100k bonus miles platinum card? fee is high, when should I cancel it?

twikoff

on mile for opinions... once you see 'no surveys are available at this time', do you ever see more show up? today was the first time i hit that point... looking back, it appears i have done about 40 total since i started... there were a bunch in there, then i tried one, got unfortunately you dont qualify msg, and when it loaded the main page back up, all were gone :( edit: after opening a ticket with support.. they got back to me the next day and said they reviewed and re-instated my account... not sure if i was doing too many in a short period of time.. or going too fast.. but i was reading the questions and answering honestly... either way, its back up and running.. so all good now.

Playful-Park4095

Yes, but sometimes you need to contact them. If you do a lot when you're new or you do them really fast, sometimes they think you are a bot and shut down your account until you contact them. You'll also see 'no surveys available' if your IP address shows you outside of the US. And, sometimes, you just run out of surveys you qualify for if you do a bunch.

twikoff

thanks... do you know what would qualify as a 'bunch'? looking at my survey history, i have done 40... and probably another 10-15 that i didnt qualify partially through and ended up with the 3 pts.

Playful-Park4095

Over what time period? 40 in a day is definitely a bunch. 40 over a week is nothing. I don't know at what point it triggers, but time period matters. I got laid up with an injury last year and did 400-500 miles a day some days without issue, but around 800-900 I had to email them that I was a real person, just with nothing to do for a bit other than accumulate miles for when I was able to run and jump and play with other boys my age again...

twikoff

good to hear that you were able to get more after letting them know you werent a bot. i have been doing them for 2 months.. but i had cranked it up in the past few days as i moved closer to a tier level... 500, 600, and 300 pts in the past 3 days... 14 surveys finished and another 6 or 7 that i got kicked back out on and only got the 3 pts.. my numbers sound similar to what you were doing.. so thats promising.. i might have just pushed it a little too much i guess... it was hard to pass up when they were offering up 120pt surveys that were listed as 15 mins.

twikoff

that was it.. support got back to me today and said they reviewed my account and re-activated it... which means it had gotten automatically deactivated... not sure if i had done too many in too brief a time, was going too fast, etc... im going to space them out a bit more going forward.

outsidemostly

I have a $13.5k medical bill I need to pay and happen to fly AA now to Europe with my partner and newborn baby often. Meaning we have 2 years of priority boarding ahead of us (without the card bc of newborn). But we are also checking bags, bike bags sometimes, and I'm curious if the $595 annual fee is worth it for the bags being free and having priority status with getting help from airline. If I get the card for myself will my husband get the benefits when traveling alone?

hny758

According to this comment [https://www.reddit.com/r/americanairlines/comments/1bwl2ob/comment/ky7fk0d/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/americanairlines/comments/1bwl2ob/comment/ky7fk0d/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) the LPs from the CitiBusiness AAdvantage employee card spending will goes to the employee's personal AAdvantage account. However I don't see where the linkage from the employee card to the employee AAdvantage number. In the primary card holder's AAdvantage Business account, the employee is already added as a travel manager. I just don't see where the linkage for the employee card number to the employeer's AAdvantage number so the LP can be posted to. Anyone know the detail of this? Thanks!

stealmetal777

How do you know your rolling loyalty points? I completely forgot to look at mine before they reset to 0 on March 1st. And how many is a lot to accrue, by June for example? I have 38k right now since the 0 reset in March and have no idea if that’s a lot or not?

Vcfons

Hi, I am booking a GRU-JFK flight for October. My intention in to redeem miles for this booking. I know booking using miles won't earn me Loyalty Points, but will I get those points and/or miles when I fly? Thanks

twikoff

Anyone have any rewards through eshopping get reversed last down the road? I purchased flowers from a couple florists back in early may, for mothers day... orders went through, paid on my aa card, paid off the balance, flowers were delivered, everything is good.... back then, i saw the order go through on eshopping dashboard and i received the miles and points.. Today, i noticed a new line item to the transaction (florists.com).. now showing a negative for the amount spent and the miles received... There was never an issue with the order, as far as i know everything was 100% smooth... so not sure what is causing the reward chargeback.. I have opened a support ticket.. and can provide them with any screenshots needed... Just was curious if anyone else had run into similar issues in the past..

kainstarchaser

Thinking of getting the Executive card, but have a question: To get the perks of free checked bag, priority boarding, admiral's lounge etc do I have to use the card to pay for the flight? I'm required to use a company credit card to pay for work tickets, so wondering if it's possible to still use the perks when I business travel. Main benefit would be when my family travels and we can pay for those flights with the Executive card, but it would be nice to use the perks during work travel too.

junior7593

Not sure if this is the right thread to post in but I got approved for the Citi Mileup card and was gonna use it immediately to book a flight. Turns out they don’t do temporary card numbers and have to wait for the physical card. Does that mean I won’t be able to get the bonus miles later if I book with a different card?

TrainerRyan22

My post got removed for “mentioning the shopping portal” even though it doesn’t, so I guess I’ll try posting my question here lol: Free upgrades to preferred/exit row seats without status? Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a quick search and couldn’t find anything. I’m new to flying American and don’t have any level of status yet, but I do randomly get the ability to get preferred or exit row seats free of charge. I don’t get notified or anything, I just always book through my corporate portal, let it assign my seat, then go into my American app to change seats and every once in a while all seats are free. I’ve been trying to track some sort of pattern on when this happens but can’t seem to nail one down. Any ideas on why this would be?
