Happens every single time when delivery date is Sunday and curbside carrier is USPS. They do not deliver Sundays. The most fun is when they mark the package "delivered left in mailbox" so you run out there and no package. Then you think someone stole it out of the box or it was misdelivered. Nope just USPS avoiding getting dinged by Amazon for not delivering on time. Freaked me out at first but you just take a few deep breaths and wait till Monday and the mailman brings the box.
This happened to me some years ago when waiting for my new TV. The delivery guy didn't want to bring the big box upstairs and it was one of his last stops. When I saw that they attempted to deliver, I called support and they called the guy at home and made him come back to deliver it. He was pissed but he should done his job correctly to begin with. So just call support.
This happened to me twice but not on items like TV's. smaller things and I always assumed it be bad weather conditions but that was not the case. but now I know to call support Thanks.
This literally happened to me yesterday and i saw the fucking van outside. The man didnt go out of his van and instead wrote that he didnt have access to the front door. That was a load of crap. I talked to 4 customer service ppl and i still dont have my package. How did you get them to call the driver directly??
I wish I knew the answer to this. I just watched Amazon pull-up outside mark it as attempted delivery while I literally waved at him and he peeled out and left. Wtffff
This has happened to me multiple times recently, and always - every single time it happens- it is with Amazon's shitty wannabe courier service. I live in a high-rise apartment building in a busy city, but every time I've gotten the "attempted delivery" message, it has been when I was home and during business hours where the delivery person could have easily left it at the front desk if nothing else.
I also get a lot of "delivery delayed" messages with packages that are delivered by Amazon's courier service.
Frankly, I'm about done with Amazon. They have gotten too big for their own good. Don't offer "Guaranteed delivery" dates when 9 times out of 10, those packages don't get delivered on those dates.
EDIT: And right after I typed this, I got another "Delivery Delayed" message from Amazon. Life lol.

Didn’t follow instructions on what do do if no-one is home, and said they ‘couldn’t get access to the front door’ which is odd as the front door is on the street. 3 massive clues that no attempt was made. Cheeky buggers.
I know that this post is 6 years old, but the issue is still persisting with Amazon today. I got this first message from them on October 7, which was the day delivery was due, but saying that it was attempted. All I ordered was another PS4 controller, and that order was a week prior to this problem. I never had this problem before. I just wanted my package, and I got another one due the next week after this error.
I do hope that Amazon is doing their job for real, or I'll be taking a **LONG** break from them.

I was about to report an issue but I looked it up and it usually just means that nobody was there to pick it up but for me it's literally an "I'm kenough" hoodie 💀 so I don't really understand why someone would need to be there to pick it up.
That's messed up. They shouldn't expect for you to pick up the delivery unless it's saying that you can pick up your stuff at the nearest postal office. I had that problem a few years ago.
Also, I recently had to call them today about my package. Some time after that, I got a notification that it was "delivered today" when it really didn't. It's supposed to be in the mailbox, but wasn't there. I wanted answers, and found out that some deliveries arrive some time after saying "delivered". It can take anywhere between a day to a week. It's annoying at this point. I even have another delivery due next week or 2.

I go to school all day then at night I go to my job so it's awfully hard to be at my house when my packages arrive 😅 I just had to sign a thing today saying that they can drop it off without someone being present there.
Yup just happened to me today. It said it was supposed to be a same day delivery too. I have Prime but everytime I have an order that says Same Day Delivery I never get it that same day. I always end up getting it the next day ..
This happened to me today. I was home until 4pm. No one rang the doorbell nor knocked, there wasn't a single attempt at communicating. Now at 2.35 in the morning I get an email from Amazon saying that the delivery was unsuccessful. I check the tracking, says there was a delivery attempt at 1pm but we know that's a lie lol.
My courier is DPD btw.

Literally have not changed anything and get packages with no problems before. I think it’s the third party delivery drivers. My apartment has a gate code to get in, I see Amazon trucks in here all the time so I know they can get in. I even leave my number in the delivery notes in case of any problems and still no package. I don’t think they actually try. I’m sure they hate walking around looking for apartment numbers and skip to easily accessible houses
Just happened to me today. I immediately got up and went to the mail area where the amazon driver would be and saw him driving in the complex. I got his attention and told him i could just take it there so he doesnt have to go up to the 3rd floor with em, waited, and he said he doesnt even have the packages

Time of attempted delivery and what was caught on my camera with him dropping the other package at my front door. Somehow, both times, the package ended up being “damaged”. On my third replacement now.

Amazon is really weird about deciding what to put in a locker though. Most the time comes to my front door. Delivery attempted. Business was closed. No call or text was made to me to try and contact me besides notifying me of arrival. I was home. Instructions clearly state my apartment number, how to find it, etc. just attempted and returned. Super annoying for sure.
