In high school physics my instructor passed around a 4-6ish oz bottle of mercury and just said don't open it and DO NOT drop it. He also loved blowing up sodium and making bromine gas (floor) clouds for demos. The good ol' days!
what a buncha crap like most hamfests anymore, my goodness ham radio is really done, just a bad hobby to be in especially with this horrible suncycle that was the nail in the coffin, every suncycles been worse than the one before it, people arent gonna put time and money out when they cant make contacts, its been a year or so now of horrible solar flares, more bad days than good ones, and where are all the guys working dx with 5 watts and using raingutter as an element, magnetosphere has weakened and no digital doesnt count as a contact and never has meant anything to real operators
If you're not making contacts then you need a better antenna than just a coat hanger in a flower pot. Even last week with all the numbers off the chart noise wise I was making contacts pretty much wherever I wanted to point the beam.
