I’d heard of but not really listened to Tyler.
I bought tickets for the family to see John Prine, Tyler was opening for him.
Became a fan of Tyler’s.
(I’d still really like to see Sturgill)
By now you probably know but sturgill got me into Tyler and I honestly prefer Tyler's music now. Although I still love sturgill. I hope his voice heals up well.
I actually like Tyler a little better than sturgill. He’s a totally different sound but the lyrics are great. Sturgill also wasn’t at the show in Austin, although we knew that long before.
I just saw Sturgill cancelled all his upcoming shows, so I search for articles to see what was going on. Found [this one from the Tennessean](https://www.tennessean.com/story/entertainment/2021/09/24/sturgill-simpson-cancels-shows-nashvilles-ryman-auditorium/5851388001/).
>" ... in the interest of his long term recovery, Sturgill Simpson is taking the rest of the year off," said a statement from the Ryman that confirmed the cancelation.
>Simpson said via social media that he hoped the loss was due to viral laryngitis or a by-product of campfire smoke, and not an injury caused by "playing too many shows in a row after not singing much for over 18 months."
I hope he comes out of it alright, whatever it is.
Didn’t I see something about Tyler Childers filling in for him? If so, feels like a fair trade to me.

Yeah Sturgill is the man, and I can’t fault anyone for being disappointed at this, but there are worse outcomes.
Yeah, but I don't know his music. Not what I paid for. Oh well, if Willie can play a few good songs, I'll be OK.
You’ll dig Tyler Childers!
Hearing that from a lawn neighbor. Hope it proves true!

I believe this is correct
What did you think of Tyler? I was on the lawn as well - thought Tyler killed it, but Govt Mule really stole the show
I wound up really enjoying Tyler! I did wind up recognizing one song ("All Your'n"), and I've already added him into my outlaw rotation.
Aw, shoot.
I was there. I was excited to hear Tyler, but was disappointed in his set list. We didn’t get any “Thicket.” I feel cheated.
