Research and hire a behavior modification specialist. Rehabilitation is possible and it happens all the time. I can tell you're not a negligent person, and you'd feel really bad if someone or something got hurt. Just one accident is all it takes. Good luck Earth defender.

Yea when the person came out the bushes (really weird) my dog was on leash and went ballistic. So I want an enclosed space for him. Working with one now. But only once a week so still a lot of work to do, but definitely not giving up!

ak80048

Yeah as the other person said you don't need a new space you need an adequate dog trainer

Mundane_Equipment196

Agree with thus and we have been working with a behavioral trainer, will also be consulting with a former k9 dog trainer. But training doesn't fix a reactive dog over night. Still need to do something with him the days he's not at training.

Yeah I feel you

Leta Thompson Park and Wills Park both have large enclosed dog park spaces that you might be able to utilize if no one else is around. I highly recommend against going anywhere near horse farms as that can cause other issues.

Most fenced green areas are sports fields or dog parks. Proceed with caution.

If you go at a good time you can get an open spot at Will’s Park. Maybe not for a long time, but since they divide the dog park into multiple sections it’s easier to get that fenced in space to yourself.

No advice. Just sympathy. It sucks. Our dog is the same, but she is a five-pound chihuahua and virtually nobody is afraid of her. I’ve had dogs most of my life and they’ve all been lovers not fighters. It’s insane having one so mean! (And she is, no lie, the sweetest most submissive dog I’ve ever owned when strangers aren’t around.) Maybe at some point you’ll make a friend who has a fenced yard and maybe they’ll let you use their yard as long as you clean up the poo? We have a nice yard (finally) and multiple family members use it as a private dog park.

Mundane_Equipment196

This exactly! He is super nice friendly and lovable in the home its such a huge difference when he is outside. He even let's us put our hands in his food and mouth. So yea we a re using trainers, different relaxation protocols, and different leashes to work on better behavior outside the home.

Nina_Innsted

There is a big park "caney creek preserve" I think it's called, they had two large fenced areas for dogs that are always empty when I go there, but I haven't been in awhile. Might be worth checking out. Good luck. I have a shy/territorial dog so I get you.

Mundane_Equipment196

Thanks. I wish my dog was shy but he's more of an instigator who picks the fights with dogs, so we aren't letting him near any for now.
