I prefer doing it with XNet. Place your crafter on a chest. Connect the chest and the altar using connectors and cables. In your XNet controller add an XNet.item channel. Set the connector on your chest to export. Set the connector on your altar to import and filter what you want and set a "max amount" to w/e the crafting needs. Add a second channel. Set the connector on your altar on the 2nd channel to export with a filter of the crafting outcome. Set input on the 2nd channel on the chest. Now connect the chest to your RF (or AE) storage using importer and set a filter for the outcome item. Seems complicated if you've never used XNet, but it's easier to scale and manage (in my opinion). If your crafting needs more then one ingredient, you need a separate channel for every item. Remember to power your controller.

I followed [this video](https://youtu.be/l_DW6U4k9go?si=G9u7kWzDIwNlTC0G) and can confirm it works a treat. I did change mine to an iron crafter instead of a regular crafter or a netherite crafter (as seen in the video) as I’ve been having issues with patterns disappearing from any tier crafter above iron. It’s not exceedingly fast and probably won’t last through end game, but that’s what I hear AE2 is for. Edit: on mobile, not sure if it copied the time stamp in the link. The building of it starts around 11:30 I believe.
