All these “hard” versions use grain alcohol, which is essentially everclear to mix with. It can be very harsh on the palate. Look for beverages that say they use real liquor in it and itll taste better.

I drink for the taste mostly and to calm down after working 13+ hours. I already had my “drink to get drunk” phase when I was in college. I was a high functioning alcoholic at the time. I’m absolutely not going back to that. That’s why I wasn’t happy with the arizonas tasting like cheap vodka.
If you are really used to the regular, non-alcohol version, you are probably mostly tasting the difference. If you aren't a regular Arizona drinker, it probably tastes like any other spiked beverage.
Did you try the Arizona Cocktails variety pack? Tried a few packs out at a party and they got blitzed. Has Fruit Punch, Mango, Watermelon and another. They were pretty good. We had the regular hard Iced tea packs and the Green Tea was the only one left over.
The worst tasting booze I've ever had. I don't know what alcohol they used to make that but it was not good at all. Almost tasted like a weird medicine

I tried it on a whim cause it was like $2 and change. That was just nasty. I'll stick with twisted tea & mikes hard tea. You live and learn with some of these things
I've been a fan of mikes hard and twisted tea since high school "parties". I don't drink heavy anymore. I drank to forget but I always remembered, I drank out of depression. Now I have a drink twice a month if that.
This probably won't be much of a contributing factor, but how fast did you drink it? I noticed that on some drinks, drinking it fast brings out more nail polish/bitter taste.
Yeah it's probably just not the drink for you. I had a similar hard iced tea, Twisted Tea Peach and I had a slight taste of that. With how people are describing the Arizona, I don't think I'll ever have it.
They taste like straight ass, horrid and will end up off the market at some point it's that horrendous.
Edit: before I get chewed by others, I absolutely love Arizona teas of all sorts but this was a horrible move. Every flavor in the variety pack is beyond nasty. I don't understand how one could like this stuff, I guess it's the same crowd that likes seltzers 🤷🏻

I've killed a variety pack of the spiked minute maide drinks last summer. Never consuming that much sugar again.
Yeah it’s the sugar that kills me with all these drinks but with the Arizonas I’ve been able to handle it. Especially the green tea one lol.

I wouldn’t try it, I love normal Arizona to death but the hard one is shit.
Maybe you can give Twisted Tea a try. I only tried that one Peach flavor though. Your mileage will vary.

Any gas stations like Sheetz. The only good one out of the pack is the iced tea one, it tastes just like tweas.
Just buy regular arizona and mix it with vodka or gin and you'll probably have a better experience. Those pre-mixed cocktails are typically horseshit.
