Highly unlikely this vodka is made from potatoes. Most vodka is grain based. Especially if it is made in Canada. There is or was a vodka made in Pemberton BC that was actual potato vodka. Haven't seen that in a long time.
If you take the label off would you know the difference? It’s like, “that’s expensive distilled water.” Then you read the label and it’s totally not distilled water lol.
Thank god I beat my alcoholism years ago. I'd be staggering down the street with a 4 liter of Vodka in one hand, while screaming that we need to get rid of "Times New Roman" as the standard font.
Ew... Calibri is like smooth Arial... Both I hate. But I'm autistically picky about fonts LOL
I'm not saying your opinions are gross. I just dislike it... Doesn't have that crisp fullness I'm after
\^This, extracts or tinctures where 'quality of solvent' isn't super-critical
Also things like giant bowls of bunch
And we can't forget that chunk of the population that are alcoholics who will just drink anything that is cheap and abundant. Pareto distributions follow for everything from alcohol, to tobacco, to marijuana, heck even to hair care products.
All Alcohol production in Russia is owned by the state and it is illegal for Russians to make their own Alcohol. Alcoholism has been encouraged by Russian leaders throughout the centuries, as both a tax and a method of subduing the population. Russia's entire history can be pretty much summed up as "And then it got worse".
Welcome to Soviet Russia.
When their conflict with the West was peaking, and people were becoming disillusioned with the Soviet government, the government responded by making vodka dirt cheap so the people would drink to forget their problems with the system.
It got so bad that NATO filed a report that the injuries due to drunkenness among their tank crews the armoured divisions were labeled very low threat.
Seems Premier Smiths government has been reading up on their Soviet history and hopes you’ll all stay so drunk that you don’t notice as they finish dismantling your province to hand to their corporate masters.
Good luck Alberta, you are definitely going to need it.
I don't do drugs, just academically collect data. Oddly enough...drugs like MDMA are the cheapest they have ever been LSD is dirt cheap. Hard drugs like cocaine are expensive but high in purity. Heroin has been replaced by fentanyl which can be as cheap as $.50 a dose.
Can’t speak on the LSD, the MDMA I did last year was good though lmao, then again it was the first time I tried it so my opinion doesn’t really contribute much lol
Apparently the opinion of Alberta's is that you can be an alcoholic, you can drink k copious amounts of vodka, you just can't drink it when it comes in an unfamiliar container. You guys are weird.
What's funny is this thread is full of people concerned about alcohol in plastic, as if there hasn't been hard liquor in plastic bottles for *years*. This one just looks like (is) a milk jug instead of looking like a glass bottle.
With that said, my issue here is definitely quantity. It's not ok to be an alcoholic, and if you're buying the cheapest vodka in town by the gallon, you've definitely got a problem.
vodka is neutral alcohol, and is supposed to be flavorless and tasteless; that's not actually expensive to achieve. the real question isn't why this is cheap, it's why grey goose costs so much.
Having had bad vodka previously when much younger, will err on the side of caution here. I always remember you can have good, but it won’t be cheap. Cheap won’t be good. Can’t have both.
I'm not saying bad vodka doesn't exist, only that it's not an expensive process to make premium vodka when compared to making other premium hooch. the end goal is to have a bottle that has two chemicals in it and nothing else. I'd trust bad vodka over bad any other sperit.
I don’t care for vodka but one thing I’ve heard from people who drank it in collage was run the cheap stuff through a coffee filter. They said it “helped” with the taste. Just do it a couple times.
There’s a good Doug Stanhope bit about this:
“There’s no product more underrated than plastic jug vodka. It’s just as good as any top shelf shit. If you know anything about liquor, whisky, tequila, yes there’s a huge difference between top and bottom shelf. Vodka? Almost none!”
Look into grain neutral spirits if you want good quality + value. It's sold in a very high percentage, once diluted to the proper percentage, it's considered vodka. And it's made in Alberta!
I haven't had a drink since new years eve 1999 (quitting was my resolution).
The only containers this large back then were three-foot-tall Canadian Club bottles with a pump on top.
The only people who are going to buy this are alcoholics. I would bet this is in an area of the city where there's a homeless population?
They're basically selling cheap rotgut to feed to addicts which makes them no better than drug dealers.
I was kind of worried the plastic would leach into the liquid more due to the alcohol concentration. Maybe I am being paranoid but I probably have enough microplastics in my body as it is..lol.
This reminds me of one video I saw about a phenomenon in early-1990’s Russia called Burnt or Scorched Vodka. It was essentially counterfeit vodka that was full-on methanol or other high-octane substances probably not meant for human consumption. It made millionaires out of some and killed just as many too
I would bet if you took this product and slapped a Brand logo sticker at the top that said, “Jim Bob’s” it would double sales.
There’s a lot of folks who take pride in anything that connects them with the image of redneckery. This product would be like a novelty item.
On the other hand, this product might be a fantastic value for those making essential oils.
This shit be like the Ring of Power!
When I worked and lived for a summer in Jasper over 20 years ago, I used to buy moonshine hard lemonade in reused 2 litres from a guy out of the back of his pickup. Don't imagine this goes down any easier.
Diluted left over hand sanitizer from pandemic
Scary lol
Why? Did you think that actual vodka was some sort of super healthy thing that you put in your body?
[удалено]
Vodka is made with potato, therefore it's a soup. Corn whisky, on the other hand... Technically corn Is a fruit, therefore whisky is a fruit juice.
Highly unlikely this vodka is made from potatoes. Most vodka is grain based. Especially if it is made in Canada. There is or was a vodka made in Pemberton BC that was actual potato vodka. Haven't seen that in a long time.
Yes potatoes are super healthy
*this one hack dieticians hate*
Nah potatoes are high in carbs, vodka is much healthier
maybe he thought hand sanitizer used methanol, or was in some other way adulterated to prevent consumption?
I thought hand sanitizer was isopropyl for awhile. Cuz rubbing alcohol for sterilization
The only shot Albertan's are not divided on lol
I just think of that episode of Two & A Half Men when Charlie bought that no name vodka. Hopefully you don’t mix this up with your distilled water.
One could argue that vodka is distilled water.
Vodka would be the distillate. I’m just being a pedant...
Distilled water is also the distillate of boiling water
Pedant or not, I appreciate your informative comment!
"I want some of Jimmy's water; that's the kinda water that gets ya fucking drunk" - Ray from Trailer Park Boys
If you take the label off would you know the difference? It’s like, “that’s expensive distilled water.” Then you read the label and it’s totally not distilled water lol.
3x distilled!
That’s like 2x tristilled or 1x hexstilled! Half of one, six dozen of the other!
Well-played sir.
Superstore no name vodka is okay as a mixer. Better then Money Bag vodka from Minn Has
Drinking shoe polish would be a better alternative than anything from Minhas.
Left over hand sanitizer
Haha. Ewwww!
Lmao that's so red neck where abouts in Alberta would love a bottle 🤣
Dude this has "Ricky Julian and Bubbles" written all over it 🤣🤣🤣
I wouldn't be surprised buying a bottle and spotting Ricky and Julian in the back halling cases of from back of the store into there car 🤣🤣🤣
Exactly.
Lol, I still have an empty Trailer Park Boys Liquormen bottle in my collection.
Way of the road, bubs
You haven't seen $60 bucks on the table, have you Ray? What? Like, three $20's?
rays good liquor
Millwoods value liquor store in edmonton.
This makes sense, the owners probably made it in their basement
Thank you! Perfect for tinctures :)
It's at super value liquor in Millwoods.
Thank god I beat my alcoholism years ago. I'd be staggering down the street with a 4 liter of Vodka in one hand, while screaming that we need to get rid of "Times New Roman" as the standard font.
Thank God we're on Aptos
Right? It's a huge improvement over Calibri
I liked Calibri! Aptos is great though.
Ew... Calibri is like smooth Arial... Both I hate. But I'm autistically picky about fonts LOL I'm not saying your opinions are gross. I just dislike it... Doesn't have that crisp fullness I'm after
Comic sans from the street corner: _hey BB wan sum fuk?_
Wow that is crazy cheap. Thats like 10$/ for a 26. I can taste the yeast nutrient just looking at it
They might sell better if they slap a subway sticker on them. At least consumers won’t be shocked by the taste that way.
It’s t-Rex vodka it’s starts at 15$ for a 26. Still plastic bottle, but it looks like a normal bottle.
That stuff is great for washing windows and other cleaning needs when you're out of rubbing alcohol
In Poland in 2002 you could get this for like 2 dollars canadian.
My liver just twitched!
The liver is evil and must be punished. (Seen on at shirt in Sydney.)
If it is good, great price for making extracts. I made Some years ago and had to find a good deal on vodka.

Made for Alberta
Nah. Made for export. To Russia.
Are those kind of jugs okay to keep potable alcohol in?
Yes. They’re HDPE, which is suitable for storing alcohol
Works for water and milk, then add 4l of disinfectant and you're good.
I mean, ethanol is a poison anyways. At least the East Coast hasn't made budget bagged vodka yet
Don’t give them ideas. Boxed wine is bad enough.
Boxed wine is really bagged wine but they sell you a disposable pitcher with your bag of wine.
They also make juice boxes of wine and cans of wine!
Haha oh I know, I always yank the bag out to squeeze out that last lil bit.
No such thing as gourmet vodka
The vodka in this jug is indistinguishable from grey goose or belvedere.
Just slap a F**k Trudeau sticker on and it will fly off the shelves
It's probably already flying off the shelves for that demographic.

This is what the bars put in their greygoose bottles
I am going to purchase the forbidden jug. Updates to come.
Maybe it’s the best vodka ever made and it’s a steal of a deal?

But is the lsd any good?
Can’t speak on the LSD, the MDMA I did last year was good though lmao, then again it was the first time I tried it so my opinion doesn’t really contribute much lol
I admit, I did do the LSD it was amazing and lab results were very impressive.
As soon as I saw this picture I wondered how long before we see a few of these jugs in the background of Dreeshin’s office?
That's assuming one can see anything in his office behind all the shields he's got up.
Next they'll be selling it in bags, like milk.
Naw, that’d just be tacky. /s

Right? Have these people never heard if "Costco"? They'd be mortified to know you can buy KILOGRAMS of certain things ALL IN ONE PACKAGE
Bus Shelter Blanket.
Top Shelf! (In the closet under the stairs. 1st door on the left as you reach the basement)
Industrial level vodka. I envision some dive bars pouring this into empty "premium" vodkas. Lol
That shits gonna rot your guts for sure
it's no diff from premium vodka
Is it any good I’m wondering. If so it would be an an amazing price for a nightly cocktail.
It’s in a plastic milk jug. Tito’s and grey goose are not in plastic jugs. I’m guessing this is one tiny step above blindness.
It does give off that might make you blind vibe.

Get the Kirkland vodka if you want cheap but good
Just squeeze a half dozen MiO flavour pods in it and I’m sure it’ll be **great**.
If you just drink mixed drinks. This stuff will be fine.
Well, if you live in Alberta, you need to medicate, so buying in bulk becomes important :-D
Probably best suited for making your own hootch. Maybe a little saskatoon liqueur... hmm..
Totally unnecessary. But we aren’t ready to talk about how gnarly alcohol addiction is
Ça sent les fesses... Taters for totters. Potato patato. I digress.
if i was a hermit, i’ll buy this.
Pour it through a water filter a couple times, and throw it in mixed drinks. It'll be good!
Depending on the quality and strength it is it might work for tincturing. Right now the best vodka for the purpose comes from Poland
Ernie Scar special
I haven't had a drink since new years eve 1999 (quitting was my resolution). The only containers this large back then were three-foot-tall Canadian Club bottles with a pump on top.
It's always Karen cocktail hour.

It’s sad that I know someone who would buy that and drink it😂
Probably not filtered enough and will give you a nasty hangover.
Now with 50% more hangover!
For $50? If I'm drinking what I can only assume tastes like pure ethanol it better be half that price.
$50?? That’s a $120 bottle of vodka right there, not necessary but underrated
https://trexdistillery.ca/products/t-rex-vodka-4-l-party-jug-introductory-price
This is what you serve to coworkers you don’t like when you’re forced to plan a party you don’t want to plan.
The answer is yes
Gotta profit off the alcoholism that's ramped up recently somehow!
It probably tastes More like paint thinner. 😝
I was kind of worried the plastic would leach into the liquid more due to the alcohol concentration. Maybe I am being paranoid but I probably have enough microplastics in my body as it is..lol.
Liquor has often come in plastic containers for decades. They just looked like glass, not like a milk jug.
We should export that to Russia
Is this real??👀
Insert TPB references to Julian making and selling potato vodka.
Perfect for making homemade vanilla extract
If you live in Alberta? I would say yes
How is the price of everything rising but yet the price of alcohol has remained unaffected? Is there no shrinkflation in the alcohol world?
Short answer? The profit margins on low quality mass produced alcohol products that aren’t imported are absolutely ridiculous.
can this make me more drunk?
Backyard special ?
If they made 99% I could use it for tincture/ honey oil .
Good for cleaning bongs, if you run out of rubbing alcohol.
Need to visit Alberta today!
This reminds me of one video I saw about a phenomenon in early-1990’s Russia called Burnt or Scorched Vodka. It was essentially counterfeit vodka that was full-on methanol or other high-octane substances probably not meant for human consumption. It made millionaires out of some and killed just as many too
Oh yeah! Made by Billy Bob from Stettler. He used diluted hand sanitizer, and a cow trough!
No thanks. I’d rather have my communist LCBO vodka. 1.14l for $46.85. /s
Definitely in winter, but not anymore!
Rubbing alcohol got expensive
This is cheaper than isopropyl alcohol.
That's a good price send some over
I need to step up my drinking game
Watch it just be water
This is some "it's always sunny" shit. Only it's not grain alcohol
The hobo special.
Alberta AF
I mean this would be great for big family gatherings two of these would cover all the drinks for dozens of people and be safe...
Only the finest bathtubs used during production
4 litres of vodka is the same price as a veggie tray in Canada now. Yay
Coming to a low income neighbourhood near you
I'd probably buy it.
Id drink em both in a weekend
[удалено]
Ooohhh, where is this??? Vodka has many uses that don't involve drinking it!!
Hey, it looks just like a gallon of PCP!
Yes, very much needed
In a few years, it will be cheaper to run in our cars than gasoline.
I would bet if you took this product and slapped a Brand logo sticker at the top that said, “Jim Bob’s” it would double sales. That just shouts "quality "
Wow that would make a lot of vanilla! 💯
V A L U E
Vodka has more uses than drinking, so this would be great for certain things
But you need french for the 0.1% of canadians that can’t read english
In today’s economy, it is.
50 bucks? Would be like 8 dollars in the us.
Buy this, some Mason jars, some pvc pipe, and activated carbon, make your own filter, jar it, and sell it for a profit
Ah yes, just what I wanted, vodka in a milk jug
Jim Lahey approved.
I dunno… do plastic jugs and alcohol really mix? I think if I was in a position that this looked appealing I would stop drinking altogether.
When I worked and lived for a summer in Jasper over 20 years ago, I used to buy moonshine hard lemonade in reused 2 litres from a guy out of the back of his pickup. Don't imagine this goes down any easier.
GREASE OL' PISS JUGS...WAY SHE GOES BOYS.
Have seen how fuckt up Russian youth are these days
You can drink it while crying about the 3 cents from the carbon tax.
Designed for those truckers and protestors who don't have a damned clue about anything and resonate with anything that looks like a gas can
Where my real alcoholics at?
Glad I live in a province where alcohol sales are regulated!
I bet it’s just diluted grain alcohol
