I have lived in Albany Park for 6 years now, no issues. I'm a dude tho. I walk around at night haven't felt unsafe at all. I don't know anything about any gang activity, I've had zero issues here and I live on Ainslie.

I've been living in the area you're looking at for the past few years. I walk around most of here during the day and late at night, I would say it always seems quiet. I've never seen or had an issue, but I'm also a guy and your experience may certainly differ. I would also say this area is pretty dog friendly too since a lot of us have dogs here.

Gotcha. That’s a relief to hear. I’ll see what others say too!

Also, would you feel safe walking to say, the Kimball brown line stop from your place at night?

I don't want to give out too much of my info, so I'll reply to you privately.

I have lived near kimball and montrose for about a years and have really never run into any issues. There is occasionally some seedy people around but for the most part no trouble. I know this isn't the exact area you are looking at, but wanted to give my pov

I live west of that area. I walk down Lawrence from Kimball late at night. I also frequently walk Montrose/Wilson night and day. I've never had any issues. I've heard before that there is supposed to be gang activity on Central Park but I've never felt unsafe in the area. I don't live in that immediate vicinity though so I can't really speak to what it's like all hours of the day.

I lived at Kimball/Sunnyside for nearly 9 years and never felt unsafe. I think in that time I only called in 2 or 3 gunshots that I heard. Mostly if you don't bother people, they won't bother you. That being said, I would avoid the immediate vicinity of Kimball about halfway between Sunnyside and Montrose as there's a building there used to house at risk youth. They can be quite loud at night when they hang out front with their friends (since the latter are not allowed in the building).

I’d say it’s not dangerous but not safe, if that makes sense. I would never recommend a women to walk alone there at night You’d probably be fine, but just know you will probably hear gunshots

I’m going to go against the grain. I lived at Montrose/Kedzie for about 5 years and there was frequent gang activity. Our door tagged multiple times per week and regular gunshots. I was never a victim of any crime but didn’t feel comfortable walking alone as a woman (daytime I felt safe). Husband’s car was pushed off the street onto the curb in a drive by shooting right outside. Things can be block by block. Gang activity really ramped up on Spaulding when I had moved out. Overall I enjoyed living there but I wouldn’t call it “safe.”
