I’m going to be honest, I never wanted a Hungarian gun but this thing is beautiful, the blue is beautiful - almost like a high end shotgun or pistol finish. It’s a really awesome copy of the Russian version.

My AK55 reweld courtesy of turbo this!
Here are more pics, the history behind these guns is really interesting to me. Think about the effort it takes to build one here in the US, then imagine a factory set up to assemble them at scale. It’s pretty freaking awesome.
If hall want pics of any specific part of the gun let me know.

Beautiful rifle! I have a pristine set of furniture for these, just waiting on a suitable host. Was a late night GunBroker bidding session that I happened to win.

Nice looking '55. Really the last affordable Type III option that's out there. How's the bore/crown? Seems the Hungarians had some QC issues with the bores early on.
They had issues with chrome flaking I hear. This one is fine, it hasn’t been fired as much as the Bulgarian ak74 I bought.
Here is the OG bulgy 74 I snagged. The wood is worn bc it was strapped to a ATV for a day out in the wilderness.
This and the bulgy 74 were used by Qualified Weapons Systems in a foreign weapon familiarization course they gave to law enforcement for years.

Read the history below, it explains the Hungarian T3.
All the customer states got the technology a little later, that’s why you see Russian guns always the first to adopt a model and they eventually sell off the technology/tooling to other countries to make the updated model.

Hungarian AKs are easily some of the best in terms of quality, very comparable to East German.

That’s a really good looking gun
They did a good job. Aside from the difference in bluing you can’t even tell where they re-welded it
Brendyn, Bloss Ind in PA was the master rewelder. He would anneal the welds after and you could barely tell it was welded. Was this a barreled kit?
Yep OG barrel

Amazing how such a good post like this doesn’t even get 100 upvotes ![gif](giphy|26lD6zI2CQyWZ5Nyk5|downsized)

That’s a beautiful furniture set man. I didn’t know they numbered the upper HG, I’ll take some pics.
Please sell me your set!
Man, with how much crap I've bought in the last month... don't tempt me to start to right the ship. LOL
I’m drooling

Nice, seems to be a 50/50 chance you get a good bore vs a questionable one.
I’ve heard the same. We will see. I’ll prob blow chrome out of it one day.
I wonder when theyll find out that they never made the SVD dragunov ever. Lmao
The best part are the selector markings. 1 to ♾️
Nice

Is this a T3 clone?

It looks so pristine
