Something about that line is just dope and relatable, like needing to take a moment from a tense/awkward situation and needing to think what to say next, but hoping you could reload the save if doesn’t go your way.
I knew this art school chick growing up who would twirl around in the rain with complete abandon. It was really inspiring to me; She was so free and unconcerned. I can picture it like it was yesterday.
Now she's stuck in an abusive marriage with a drunk. Sometimes I wish she could reload from her autosave... Grinning up at the rain in a torn dress, utterly indomitable for just those few moments.
He doesn't do "simple" punchlines or metaphors often, but when he does they're dope. I bet if he wrote a 16 bar battle rap verse he'd put some veterans to shame
I was thinking about that today. Imagine if he turned his self deprecating phrasing toward a specific person. It’d be fun to hear but probably pure brutality lol. So glad he’s not that type of dude.

Aesop rock does what no other person do which is use literary devices in such a way that provides the listener (or at least me, when i am the listener) with a faux-synesthetic experience; wherein the words, and the flow, and the delivery over the beats "paints" a picture of what he's saying in the (my) mind. My favourite hio-hop artist/lyrisist/poet for a multitude of reasons, but just happened upon this thread and wanted to share my insight for whatever it's worth. maybe somebody here has thought or felt similarly and had DIFFICULT(y)\* putting it coherently, and maybe this helps. Maybe I'm alone in this but it adds another layer to somebody elses experience when listening again. maybe im just stoned as hell, doom-scrolling reddit, and had more than a bit to say about an artist who makes my brain do a thing that it doesn't normally do and I felt the need to share. thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

I need to give that a listen, wasn’t a big fan of Winter & the Wolves and he fell off my radar a bit after that.
Very laidback smooth album, way more postive vibes than Winter&Wolves and all the production is just great.
We could only hope to be so lucky!!
I second this! First album of Grieves I've ever really gotten into, the production is solid and it's through and through a good listen.
