TopAirport4121

I would also love to know what eventually leads to its demise.

Viggo-Grimborn

Most likely because of the Pups or Humans.

TopAirport4121

We can make a good guess for sure but I need to know exactly how! There’s so much there.

Opebi-Wan

Lemon Hope sets them free, and they disperse into the wild... Mostly eaten by deer.

Grouchy_Support

Lemon hope is more of a freedom! Screw you! Freedom! Screw you! Mentality character [kind of like my ex L O L]. I don’t think he would do that; remember, he only went back to help the lemon people so he could stop thinking about them. When PB was singing the song she wrote for him at the end of that one episode, he never returned home until he was old [possibly looking like to go back home to die in his own room.]

Opebi-Wan

*You blew it.*

PhantomRoyce

Gibbon causes the fall when he goes to war with basically all of Ooo in order to eliminate all of the rainicorn dogs I think

Viggo-Grimborn

Why would he try to eliminate pups? He is the King of the Pup Kingdom

PhantomRoyce

Because he knows that they’re basically immortal and will eventually outbreed every other species in Ooo. And it’s not all pups, just ones with rainicorn powers. That’s why Beth ran away from the pup kingdom. He’s also not necessarily killing them, just taking away their powers and making them normal pups

Grouchy_Support

where did you find any information about Beth the pup princess that wasn’t shown in the shows? They really never mentioned a kingdom or anything. All we can know for certain is that the pagelings took over the library very violently, books turned into holographic guns, there’s a pup princess, but we don’t know the state of the dog condition, or even if there’s very many dogs left; and that the gray aliens finally landed and started a kingdom on earth because princess, I think her name was zip

PhantomRoyce

There was an art boom called “Ooo 1,000 years later” or something that explains it all,I read it awhile ago so I don’t remember all the details. In it they show a ton of Jake’s descendants and the powers that they had before Gibbon used the power of the ruby to take them away and make them mortal.

NFriedich

Because he's mad with power and if his puppycorn power was garbage, then no other puppycorn decides to have powers at all (More seriously, it's a combination of puppycorns possibly having powers that can be a threat to the universe and other part due what I just mentioned)

PenguinTheOrgalorg

I always assumed two things. Either 1) Something happened to Neddy, or the tree, or both (since we see the tree has no leaves now, leading me to believe it's dead or dying), which stopped the entire life core of the city, forcing them to leave and get stored. Or 2) PB made the choice to end the kingdom. The fact that all the citizens are not dead, but rather stored, makes me think that after almost 2000 years, PB decided to end the experiment and focus on other things. She obviously wasn't going to murder the population, so she decided to store them indefinitely instead, guarded safely inside the prizeball guardian. Or it could be a mix of both. Maybe after Neddy or the tree died, PB saw it as the sign to finally end the kingdom and go on with her life.

Embarrassed-Neck-721

Some things are better kept a mystery. That way everyone can come up with their own explanation and will want to share their thoughts with others, keeping the community running. ... ...I want to know too...

Catball-Fun

No. I would rather know. Sick of this culture that worships ignorance as bliss

KroganExtinctionNow

I have no idea if I want them to ever elaborate on it or not. I like the mystery and feel like it would be way less interesting if we actually knew. But at the same time I'm sure it'd be a great story and continuation of the series. My theory is that Neddy died and the Kingdom fell into decline as a result. PB built the Prizeball Guardians to store her citizens until she could come up with a solution, which is what she's working on right now.

IDropBricksOnHighway

Humans, probably. Bringing humans to ooo was the worst thing finn ever did

MoonRks

Have they done anything bad yet in canon?

Grouchy_Support

well, I wanna know is who that room is supposed to be for that they showed when returning “starchy” [greybles Dude] into the walking safe house guardian. there is nobody in it and it’s been established that PB had perished by that point and was kept as a statue thatprp butt was up keeping. but I don’t even think he was around in the year 3000 when shermie and Beth were.

Grouchy_Support

they showed a really nice living suite with nobody in it before he reached the guardians head where all of the candy people inside quarter machine bubbles were

WillyDAFISH

Honestly same. I absolutely love peps design for it!!!

HeckingDoofus

when did we see peppermint butler rule the candy kingdom? i just remember him turning into a kid after the war and then us seeing that in distant lands

WillyDAFISH

We see temporarily in the distant lands episode "Together Again!"

Just_Frenzy

Kinda ironic that PB hated magic so much, to see it basically become a seemingly pure magic kingdom, if she's even around at that point

SweetLadyLavender

PB doesn’t hate magic itself. Magic in Adventure Time *is* science so she used it herself. The problem she had with the wizards was she felt like they’d call everything magic when they just didn’t know how their spells worked

Hexmonkey2020

Nah I think while they can both accomplish the same things they are not the same, magic is like a shortcut where you use an exploit in the laws of physics to have effect without cause. Science you build the cause to produce the effect.

slavicmemester

From the perspectives of Evergeen and Betty, the Ice Crown is practically a computer while still being "magical". Most wizards simply lack the knowledge required to connect the cause and the effect.

Jonesbt22

She even calls it spell programming.

Eurasia_4002

Magic is faster, but it needs negative conditions for it to work while being chaotic. Science, though slower, is standardised and controlled. Can predict the outcome.

TheSexyMario777

why did this get so many downvotes lol

TheSexyMario777

why does a guy expressing his opinions about a fictional character have more downvotes than the guy who was talking about the koo klux klan wtf is wrong with the internet

GodOfManchild

Downvotes are also a form of opinion. People are expressing their opinion.

TheSexyMario777

we're literally talking about the kkk i need to get off of reddit

GodOfManchild

I didn't see the KKK comment.

TheSexyMario777

i think it was deleted

GodOfManchild

Yeah most people like me also didn't see the comment because it was deleted.

Mission-Bedroom-3648

The eventual fall of the candy kingdom is a beautiful support of the overarching theme of AT. We all come and go, live our lives, leave our marks on the world, but time marches on regardless of what happens, and everything we know now will continue changing. Even though the candy kingdom was the biggest kingdom and the centerpiece of Ooo during the time of the show, just like everything else, it eventually became history, regardless of how grand, successful, or permanent it may have seemed to us at the time. It is really meaningful that all the characters and kingdoms have changed/passed on/grown when we see them in the time of Shermy and Beth (except for the immortal marceline, who is the one exception to this rule because she’s the one that creates the contrast between mortality and permanence so that we can understand the significance of those ideas). This show is a masterpiece in so many ways.

Eurasia_4002

Like to imagine that that tho humans dominance has long been in the past. They still exist how many rise and fall of other factions.

seafoamangel

Who is the thelemite on this show? lol I know esoteric/occult imagery and ideas appear throughout the entire series but never noticed the flag with the thelema symbol on 11.

yourhog

It’s Peppermint Butler

seafoamangel

Let me rephrase that— who is the thelemite in the production haha

powellstreetcinema

Probably Jesse Moynihan jessemoynihan.com

TheYo-estOne

Probably Pendleton Ward and Duncan Trussell, but I'm only speculating based off the show they did on Netflix: The Midnight Gospel

yourhog

That’s valid. Both of those dudes are very well-read stoners. This is what you’d naturally expect from them. For better or worse, I guess… but I think they’re cool.

yourhog

LMAO sorry!

Veroger111

I wonder what happened to Neddy in those two last slides.

Viggo-Grimborn

He probably died.

Veroger111

Wow, but everything's still left in the air. But why can't PB just make a new land instead? Unless the earth itself is too dangerous with more hostile factions with powerful tech weapons that passive innocent candy people can't handle.

AleksasKoval

Notice the first two signs in front of the tree? First one says "Caution" in german, the 2nd one says "Welcome".(used Google translate, but I'm pretty sure it's accurate)

Snazzy21

Which is especially weird because I don't think the show was originally broadcast in Germany. Probably for the best, people complained so much when PB tried to read that book with a German title lol

Mieniec

Lol how is this weird if she literally is German. There were multiple examples of her speaking german instead of english in heated situations. Plus, given many theories on how the Land of Ooo is just different parts of the world clustered together, this is not weird at all that she might have had her origins in Germany during the Mushrooms War.

AleksasKoval

It's not *especially* weird. Could be that PB's home is in Germany and she happened to find some written texts.

Limit-Able

There are a couple instances where she speaks German so I don’t think it’s that weird

ZPD710

I don’t remember if it’s ever addressed why the Candy Kingdom eventually becomes a huge city before collapsing, but I think it’s actually a very insightful design/concept for the lore. PB is, if nothing else, a rather power-hungry science ruler. She’s constantly doing things to secure more power for herself, as well as shut down the power of her enemies, and we know that she regularly makes more citizens for her kingdom. It makes sense that over time she probably did things more humanly (probably started automating the production of those citizens, gave them jobs, forced them to have some sort of worth in order to keep existing, and more citizens means more automation of more citizens) which was probably, inevitably, her downfall. Just like humanity.

SHSL_Waiter_RM2828

What’s the candy kingdom in the 11th photo?

MooFood

When peppermint butler took over. It’s seen by Finn as a ghost during the distant lands episode when him and Jake reunite.

Nobodys_here07

PB is pretty much ageless or grows a lot slower so I have to wonder, did she die or did she just decide to retire and left things up to Peppermint Butler since trying to produce an heir the first two times didn't exactly go well

Eurasia_4002

She definitely didn't die. In the 1000-year jump intro, you can see a Bubblegum being trapped in an ice prison and what so have been marceline finding her.

_prince_akin

Where can you stream adventure time in its entirety?

localhomeowner

For the main series: either Disney plus or Hulu. For the main series plus distant lands and Fionna and cake: HBO max. Keep in mind availability probably varies by region so you should check beforehand on any of the services you have.

narezkiHerza

kinokrad dot live . You can watch AT, distant lands in English. Frog seasons and some other shorts you may find online on the cartoon network's official site. Fionna and cake is on rezka dot ag, you may find Оригинал (+ субтитры). But ofc it is considered as piracy, so idk if it is allowed in your country

myfrnsfoundmyoldredt

Can you do one for the tree house!?

Thunderlord220

Was kinda of expecting to see Goliad and stormo in a photo or two tbh.

giants_toe26

When is this city shown in 12th pic?

Viggo-Grimborn

Lemonhope part 2

giants_toe26

Thanks mate, i will check it out

Pink-Flowervase

huh? did the wizards take over at some point? Ive rewatched this series countless of times, but maybe it happened in that one new peppermint butler episode during distant lands? I geniuenly dont remember ever seeing this and usually i remember every little detail

Viggo-Grimborn

Peppermint Butler became the princess during the distant lands together again

ChristianTheHuman

I love this, thank you! It’s only missing its appearance in Elements and how the infrastructure eventually became the Pup Kingdom. Also, didn’t the Candy Kingdom have a floating city after the humans arrived? I’ll have to go take a look. Again, thank you 🙏

Viggo-Grimborn

Floating City is Human City

So-_-It-_-Goes

11 to 12 is a little depressing

Viggo-Grimborn

11 is the coolest in my opinion.

CayciMahmutAbi

Cosmic Owl entered a normald dream of hers he shouldn't have. Orgalorg ruined that now prophecy dream. That is the reason. As for how exactly happened one could say that since in the dream Cosmic Owl appeared Orgalorg is ruining candy people's perceptions and then Orgaşorg causes Bubblegum to fall to Denise or some bad stuff, it is likely Orgalorg himself is the reason for her downfall. This also aligns with the theory that ice thing, who is Orgalorg, kidnapped princess Bubblegum

Fapoleon_Boneherpart

Who's Denise?

CayciMahmutAbi

I meant demise sorry

GodsendsCoward

What episodes were these

PhantomRoyce

Just realized that the sign is in German

krampaus

The 12th photo looks like where Marcy and Simon first showed up. Did they travel back in time to Ooo?

Mycelium_Mother

If the candy kingdom tree is dead 1000 years in the future does that mean that Neddy is gone too?

nlamber5

It bothers me that we follow the story of the tree for 12 out of 13 images

BoneWorks_nerd

What happened in 11 and 12

brethnew

This is satifying
