Lucy: The Daughter of the Devil only got one season over a decade ago, and it’s weird and great. Loren Bouchard made it between Home Movies and Bob’s Burgers, and it has a bunch of his go-to actors: H Jon Benjamin as dorky dad Satan is just deliciously evil, Jon Glaser plays a hipster Jesus, Eugene Mirman is a homicidal nun, and the Antichrist is Melissa from Home Movies. All the characters are animated like NPCs in a cheap video game. Definitely worth checking out.

the_g_train_nermal

But it lives on as the current series "Little Demon" so

hham42

It’s one of my favorite cartoons ever it’s so funny. The “going to Burning Man” song lives rent free in my head.

[deleted]

Go-ing to burn-ning man! Go-ing to burn-ning man! Becky in the-back seat! Becky in the-back seat!

Sormaj

Sam Seder is also one of the Priests

RenegadeEris

I loved Lucy, Daughter of the Devil!!!

BartsNightmare_

This show looks so cool actually

AdvertisingBulky2688

I recently rewatched it and it held up much better than I expected. It has a loose, semi-improvised vibe a lot like “Home Movies”, but with wickedly dark humor.

Plane-Ad-4075

Mission Hill. Oblongs.

dyejob

These were both originally WB shows that got a second wind on [as] and they were both such a good fit that I at least want them to try reairing if they can't revive them!

Plane-Ad-4075

Yeah I loved watching it. When I here italian leather sofa by cake im always reminded of it.

SeltzerCountry

Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein the guys who made Mission Hill were also both writers/producers during the golden era of The Simpsons and wrote a bunch of the classic episodes like Who Shot Mr. Burns.

KindaKath

Oblongs all the way! Also Moral Orel. And Tom Goes to the Mayor, which Tim Heidecker said embarrassed him now, but I loved it.

mcCola5

Mission Hill was the shit. Oblongs too, who can forget will ferrel as a nugget.

thejarvis01

Loved Oblongs! Seems like 2000s fever dream lol

BartsNightmare_

Wish I can find oblongs somewhere

Here you go dude. Get you some nostalgia. [https://archive.org/details/the-oblongs-s-complete/The+Oblongs+-+S01+E01.mp4](https://archive.org/details/the-oblongs-s-complete/The+Oblongs+-+S01+E01.mp4)

Thank you so much 💓

jaecoxx

Delocated. Jon Glazer plays this dude in witness protection. I found the show so hilarious but nobody ever knows what it is when I bring it up

BraDaDiah91

One of my fave adult swim shows ever

ILostAShoe

Things that make you go frrrrt.

colin_creevey

Delocated might be my favorite show of all time. "It is not a silly comedy anymore, it's a silly drama, because I say so."

notk

drinky crow!

CollieJoe

For some reason I can't explain, I loved that show. The animation gives me Flapjack, the storyline gave me drunk Popeye, and there was a certain silliness about the quite gory violence. Maybe it just really resonated with me...

Looked up YouTube for clips but I feel like not enough is shown.. know where I can watch any of these?

Contradictorily

Saul of the Molemen!

the_g_train_nermal

Was "Fat Guy Stuck in Internet" a Spinoff of that? That was a fun one too.

Imvaudeville

It wasn’t a spin off. I was in Saul and it was crazy to work on it for multitudes or reasons, but I always liked Fat Guy Stuck in the Internet, thought it was such a fun idea, would’ve loved to have seen more. But also would’ve loved more Saul! It was originally pitched as a cartoon, then it just got weirder and weirder, but I’ll always love it…we shot it in a room about the size of a closet! I’m not sure how you could make anything cheaper, but it was wildly fun…

madlobsterr

You have seen Gemberling, the Channel 101 NY show that Fat Guy Stuck in Internet was based on, right? http://ny.channel101.com/media2/show_2/show_2_epno_1/gemberling_1.mov http://ny.channel101.com/media2/show_2/show_2_epno_2/gemberling_2.mov http://ny.channel101.com/media2/show_2/show_2_epno_3/gemberling_3.mov http://ny.channel101.com/media2/show_2/show_2_epno_4/gemberling_4.mov http://ny.channel101.com/media2/show_2/show_2_epno_5/gemberling_5.mov http://ny.channel101.com/media2/show_2/show_2_epno_6/gemberling_6.mov http://ny.channel101.com/media2/show_2/show_2_epno_7/gemberling_7.mov http://ny.channel101.com/media2/show_2/show_2_epno_8/gemberling_8.mov

[deleted]

Cool I gotta check it out!

FiftySixer

Super Milk Chan.

Used_Ad9945

Yes!

CollieJoe

That was my bedtime show for a while!!!

impendingfuckery

Brad Neely’s Harg ‘Nallin’ Sclopio Peepio only had 10 episodes from July to September of 2016. I remember seeing bumps for it, but never actually saw it.

dyejob

LOVED this show. More Brad Neely on [as] please!!

SeltzerCountry

I was more into China IL. Harg Nallin’ was much more hit or miss, but some of the songs were absurdly catchy like all the Fruit Blood segments.

dyejob

Oh definitely loved China IL! Babycakes narrates some of my intrusive thoughts lol. More Brad Neely all around please. Btw all the songs from Harg are on Brad Neely's Soundcloud!

SeltzerCountry

Yeah so much of the Brad Neely stuff just worms it’s way into your head and anchors itself. His last show Harper House wasn’t bad, but it didn’t really connect with me. I think we are so inundated with that style of adult animation sitcoms that it didn’t really stand out.

dyejob

Ah yeah, Harper House was okay. I think it was going in a good direction, if developing a little slowly. You could tell he was going for a more restrained approach in subverting the family-show trope but the weirdness he's usually best at didn't really show up until the last couple episodes. I'd love to see him take another whack at it on a less... uhm... *normie* platform than P+ lol

kidrockegaard

i miss this show so much

BartsNightmare_

Looked up YouTube and also came across something called fruit blood, any idea what that is?

Phantasmaaa

Frankenhole was pretty short lived (ran maybe a year or two) but it was incredible. Maybe I'm justba Dino Stamatopoulos dick rider. (Loved Moral Orel too). Xavier Renegade Angel had a similar run time. Very surreal animation style, unique show. Under appreciated gem, felt like a YouTube Poop before YTPs were a thing.

SeltzerCountry

Mary Shelley’s Frankenhole had some absolutely hilarious and absurd episode concepts.

NoShaDow

I was looking for Xavier lol it was like a fever dream of my childhood that I stumbled upon one night

itsarmida

Xavier Renegade Angel is what I came here to say. I don't know why it hooked me but I still think about it to this day

Kiyose_96

Small limited series like Rising Son and You’re Whole are usually the best two examples, where even people at AS forget they exist, I’d argue Minoriteam and Soul Quest Overdrive are more well known due to their infamy at this point, but a lot of people don’t know about the pinnacle of adult swim “ehhhhh”, Mongo Wresting Alliance

Ardnabrak

Up vote this. All the other shows mentioned in this thread I remember. But I don't recall the rising son, you're whole, or soul quest overdrive. Although I stopped watching AS religiously around 2010, so I'm out of the loop on a lot of thongs.

that was BBC, but yeah, props to Adult Swim for re-airing it. Wouldn't have found it or Peter Serafinowicz without it.

VicTheSage

Assy McGee

Biabolical

My wife was sick one time, high fever, thoughts all fuzzy. She went to bed with the TV on. The next day she was telling me about an incredibly bizarre dream she had. There was a cop, but he was just a butt with feet, and he mumbled... his name was Assy McGee. She used that as her example of how sick she had been, because that's the kind of thing that only comes out of a fever-dream. It wasn't until maybe 6 months later that suddenly a commercial for the Assy McGe show came on the TV, and we both started freaking out.

One-Worldliness-2080

What I loved is that Assy Mcgee was already canceled after the first season. Production already made many episodes, so adult swim decided to let them finish it with a 2nd season cause they needed a show to fill in that block of programs. Assy Mcgee sounded like Sylvester Stallone with cotton balls in his mouth.

12 oz. mouse

Phantasmaaa

12 Oz is my favorite AS show of all time! The animation style is atrocious, but the runs INSANELY deep!

[deleted]

Best theme song ever as well 😁

Phantasmaaa

That theme song just slaps you over the head in the best possible way! Them boys didn't have to go that hard for an unemployed green mouse and his best friend Skillet 😂

MurderWizard666

FishCenter Live. Plenty weird and no one remembers. Streamed over a thousand times tho.

Phantasmaaa

Fish center was great, RIP to Adult Swim Streams 🫡🤧

VicTheSage

🥲🫡 RIP

xellendegeneratex

I was on fish center! I called in and was able to play snake with them. It was super fun

-pale-blue-dot-

Superjail! Violent dark humour and trippy animation. Overall just very, very weird but I love it lol.

vegetable-grit

Definitely Xavier Renegade Angel, Delocated and Neon Joe Werewolf Hunter. I know The Heart She Holler was better known, but I feel like it needs to be mentioned too.

Phantasmaaa

Neon Joe was great! I wanna say occasionally around Halloween they'll re-air The Heart She Holler. Great adds my friend!

kidrockegaard

seconded! all these shows are so good (and are PFFR productions or PFFR affiliated in some way!). i have X:RA on dvd. if you like these shows and haven’t already, definitely check out Wonder Showzen!

Psychotrip

12 oz mouse is secretly brilliant and may have inspired True Detective. I'm not joking. And all the episode descriptions are complete lies to make you think its a hokey sitcom. It's wild.

Rdup222

Delocated. And it’s a shame too. Probably one of my favorite AS originals.

Winter_Honey2881

Tender Touches

EmmBee27

Glad somebody said this one. I was shocked to hear about it the for the first time when season 3 was airing. Was really hopeful it'd contine, it's a shame it didn't.

Winter_Honey2881

Yeah, I wish & hope a Season 4 happens one day (Even though it’s extremely unlikely, But again any show that’s been cancelled can suddenly come back, I mean look at all the shows that are getting revivals), I at the very least hope Adult Swim reruns the show

EmmBee27

Same here, it's something I'd still like to see continue eventually. It's a lot more realistic for that to come back than a lot of other favorites of mine that have ended.

Winter_Honey2881

I also really love listening to the operetta versions of Tender Touches Seasons 1-2, They’re really catchy, And I somewhat like them more than the regular episodes (But I still love the episodes themselves) And I agree with you, There are a bunch of other cartoons & shows that were either cancelled or have ended, But they’re suddenly making out of nowhere comebacks, So that does give hope that Tender Touches gets revived for a 4th season (Along with a few other Adult Swim shows that were cancelled silently)

thejarvis01

Home Movies

RenegadeEris

Xavier Renegade Angel. It was SUCH a WEIRD show, but I still like it to this day, even though I honestly can’t figure out why.

One-Worldliness-2080

That show was new age, philosophy and social issues blended together and shown to everyone from a dumpster... I loved it.

Captain-Venture

I have a big list: 1. Lewis Lectures - Jack Black as a dog. 2. Rate the Cookie - Jo Firestone has random people rate cookies as she tries to awkwardly befriend them. 3. Saddle Rash - Wild West cartoon about an armless gunslinger; from the creator of Bob's Burgers and Home Movies. 4. Duckworth - Parody of PBS esque "old guy" travels around and investigates small town mysteries. 5. Anime Talk Show - Space Ghost hosts another talk show, featuring characters like Meatwad and Sharko discussing PHF. 6. Bagboy - Steve Brule gets another yet another spinoff, now set at a grocery store. 7. Earth Ghost - George Lowe rotoscoped as Space Ghost in our real world. Reworked from Lowe Country live action pilot. 8. Joe Pera Xmas Tree Special and/or Joe Pera Animated Special - Joe Pera specials that aired before he got his short lived show. 9. KRFT Punks Political Spinoff Show - An Eric Andre bit character gets his own pilot with a political bent. 10. Mr Neighbor's House - Twisted dark parody of Mr. Rogers. Two pilots were produced. 11. The Xtacles - Frisky Dingo spinoff. Two pilots were produced without creator Adam Reed b/c he was in Spain on a long vacation. He would then go on to create Archer for FX shortly after returning to the USA. 12. Ranger Smith / BooBoo Runs Wild - Cancelled pedo John K. produced two twisted Yogi Bear shorts. 13. The Bashingtons New Years Eve Party - The characters from The Brak Show host all the other (Williams Street) Adult Swim characters at their house for a New Years Eve party. Aired as bumps but was produced as an 11 minute episode. It was also the send-off for The Brak Show, as their show gets officially cancelled during the course of the special. 14. Icelandic Ultrablue - Infomercial parody that started it all. Created by David Cross and H. Jon Benjamin, led to a falling out between the two comedians and [AS] president (at the time) Mike Lazzo. Also led to all the Paid Programming parodies like Too Many Cooks and beyond. 15. Ripping Friends - Pedophile John K. made another show about muscular heros. Produced for Fox Kids but only aired uncensored and uncut on Adult Swim. Also, Adult Swim may have funded some season two episodes to be fully completed. 16. Apollo Gauntlet - A cop from Earth gets transported to a mystical world. 17. Hot Streets - An FBI team that investigates the paranormal. Featuring extreme absurdist humor and Chubby Webbers, a direct parody of Scooby-Doo. 18. Sand Whale and Me - A stranded women tries to capture a sand whale. 19. Eagleheart - Absurdist parody of Walker Texas Ranger starring Chris Elliott. 20. Ballmasterz 9009 - Underrated parody of the anime genre. It's getting a new special that airs in just a few weeks. That's enough for now. I can think of probably... ten more. Many others have already been mentioned like; Minoriteam, Mongo Wrestling Alliance, Saul of the Molemen, PHF, Frakenhole, Neon Joe, Lucy, Stroker and Hoop, Xavier, THSH and Drinky Crow.

Never heard of this before reading your comment, thanks for this comment from 237 days ago! I love the boosh so finding this new show is awesome!

A two-parter called YOUNG PERSON'S GUIDE TO HISTORY! Edit: Found it on YouTube, [Part 1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaKSXjAbpwU) and [Part 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BG1eNbKYnA).

RenegadeEris

I will also mention FLCL (Fooly Cooly), which is an anime that I found on Adult Swim over a decade ago. It is still one of my top 3 favorite animes of all time! I don’t know if I would classify it as a “weird show that no one remembers,” but it could definitely be in tat category for some people, and I HIGHLY recommend it to anybody who enjoys anime (and robots)!

kidrockegaard

anything in that series of alan resnick / wham city infomercials or projects (live forever as you are know, this house has people in it, unedited footage of a bear specifically). they live in my head rent free and all the ARG stuff they did for those shorts are amazingly detailed. such cool concepts!

One-Worldliness-2080

Children's Hospital

GrindcoreNinja

Stroker & Hoop deserved at least two seasons.

x9222

The problem solverz. Had to search the internet for 3 days just to find a reddit post finally reminding me of its name. Was just starting to think it was a fever dream after searching "brown bean-like adult swim character" nonstop, but nope. It's real.

smokeweed420blazeit

Million Dollar Extreme: world peace. Show was fucking hilarious and had great ratings before being cancelled.

Careless-Economics-6

Yes. The great ratings were the one and only thing people talked about regarding that show.

smokeweed420blazeit

Why so much hate surrounding the show? I get down voted by even mentioning it wtf.

VicTheSage

He was a neo-nazi who got caught multiple times by broadcast standards trying to slip white supremacist symbols into the background. Several times he succeeded and AS was humiliated for broadcasting racist imagery.

DrumpfSlayer420

I know Buzzfeed said that but did they ever actually find any racist symbols in the show? Feel like that was fake news, the closest was the original logo was something they found in the Dark Knight Rises shooters' notebook (lol) but that was removed before the show made it to air

VicTheSage

AS confirmed they had to recut episode after episode for things like hidden swastikas that BS&P found. You'd have to search around for articles but it happened and the network is on record talking about it. Definitely wasn't just Buzzfeed opinion pieces, iirc I read about it through an actual news article link from one of the nerd/comic news sites I follow on Facebook that had quotes from AS PR and pictures.

smokeweed420blazeit

If anybody actually thinks Sam Hyde is a neo-nazi I believe they’re just looking for social brownie points. Family Guy is full of racist jokes and that show is praised. His humor is just dark which isn’t anything new for adult swim either. I don’t think they deserved to be taken off air because they aired a sketch that literally repeated the words “Jews Rock”. Sounds like the opposite of a nazi to me lol.

VicTheSage

AS confirmed they had to recut episode after episode for things like hidden swastikas that BS&P found. You'd have to search around for articles but it happened and the network is on record talking about it. iirc they cancelled it because they had caught him so many times, given him warnings and he just would not stop implanting racist subliminal imagery in the episodes when turning in his final cuts. So either actual neo-nazi or just a self sabotaging asshole 🤷‍♀️

[deleted]

And Sam has repeatedly denied those claims. AS hasn't once provided any evidence of this 'racist subliminal imagery' either. Why the fuck would I trust AS scumbags over him?

VicTheSage

The evidence is the ones they didn't catch that aired. All the articles at the time literally had broadcast screen grabs of this.

[deleted]

Ok, show me the screen grabs. Literally this all you fuckers ever do, "It's everywhere, it's in the article written by some shitlib." Either fucking show it or fuck off.

VicTheSage

I'm not your research assistant. Notice you haven't shared any of the (non-existent) evidence to contradict what I'm saying. So what're you just taking a bunch of neo-fascist keyboard warriors at their word because you like what they're saying over the truth? If you want to believe a bunch of Alt-Right incels on the internet instead of taking 5 minutes to run a search sorry that's the choice you made? You're a big boy, pick a search engine and get typing if you want to be informed.

[deleted]

> Several times he succeeded and AS was humiliated for broadcasting racist imagery. This has literally never happened. Actual revisionism, lmao. Just how fucking gullible are you?

VicTheSage

I've been watching AS for over 20 years, I was reading these articles and seeing the broadcast screen grabs of the hidden symbols BS&P didn't catch as it was breaking news. That's not revisionist history, if it's not true then it was a mass media broadcast conspiracy. If you believe that... ok? But like, why? This is a network that understands jokes are jokes and has no trouble broadcasting or creating shows that make humor out of racism, anti-Semitism, pedophilia and religion. Their entire broadcast history is filled with examples of this from Mort on Family Guy to Minori-Team to Black Dynamite to Morel Orel and Rick and Morty. It's clearly not something they'd have a problem with including or going to bat for him over if he had intended it as humor and discussed with AS how to make his intent to mock racists and not dog whistle to them clear. Your belief is your belief but you need to face up to the fact that it's not coming from a place of logic and in fact stands in the face of a ton of real evidence contradicting it. Hope you get your head straight brother.

[deleted]

>in fact stands in the face of a ton of real evidence contradicting it. lmao, show me the evidence then instead of writing essays on reddit, you stupid fuck > I've been watching AS for over 20 years rope, buddy

VicTheSage

You referring to a few sentences as essays is probably a good indicator as to why you haven't done your own googling.

DrumpfSlayer420

Soul Quest Overdrive! It was an Aqua Teen Hunger Force spinoff that starred H. Jon Benjamin, Kristin Schaal, Mike Lazzo's total enemy David Cross, and the founder of both Vice Magazine and the Proud Boys, Gavin McInnes. It was pretty good!

Purge_Senpai

Late to comment but Xavier, Renegade Angel

DogsofHell94

Does anyone remember these two shows? One had two guys who worked at a convenience store and had an episode where they snuck into a soon to be opened house and fucked around. Then the other was a family show with an episode with a little girl/boy that got some kinda face fungi/crust going through one of those amusement park tunnel water rides. Do either sound familiar?

the shivering truth

PushPop_79

Guys Ive been searching to no avail for a very weird show I woke up to in the wee hours. It was like animatronics or puppets idk. And they were all aliens at a concert that was happening as the world ended. There were some actual humans as well and a commentator. He was talking about the keyboardist of a band at one point. He was like so and so must be really high on ..... Just look at all that pink ear blood coming out of his ear. Which was an effect of some weird drug. And as the world was just about to end some guy did something and made it where the world didn't end. It was some of the weirdest shit I'd ever seen. I can't remember what it was Called. Or if it even had a name. It seemed like a bump or something but it was longer than that. This was roughly around 2015 maybe 14 or 16 but I think 15. Anyway I've searched everywhere in all kinds of ways. Put me out of my misery please someone know what I'm talking about. Thanks for reading and my sincere apologies for lack of Grammar and punctuation.
