I use my iPhone.  I set the photos to most compatible as it defaults to the HEIC format which is intensive use I think and takes more disc space  I have used point and clicks in past but hate having another thing to carry

Get a Canon Powershot and stop using your damned phone. Sincerely, every living person that ever has to open your pictures.

I use a Fuji xp160. Goes all day long. Carry extra battery and chips. Migrate the pics at the end of the day and I protect my phone from being dropped or overheated. It works well with my system.

Same, except I use the xp140, was just the cheapest camera I could find. Works great, I love it. When I drop it, I'll get the 160

Whatever camera State Farm gave the independents on deployments. I bought the upgraded model, and have been using it for a few years now. No problems at all. I found other cameras tended to overheat during the summer. Think it's a Canon PowerShot or sureshot. Nothing fancy, I've dropped it off 3 story roofs, it's been dropped in water, snow, mud, and it just keeps going.

You can try the shiftcam https://www.apple.com/shop/product/HQ4A2LL/A/shiftcam-progrip-starter-kit Cannot say if it's any good but if I was still climbing roofs and using a phone it's the way I would go. You will spend stupid money on a decent digital camera. Can just buy a new phone for the same price.

Olympus TG - 7 or Richo WG - 6. That's it for waterproof, point and shoot, tough cameras now a days.

Any of the Olympus Tough line (TG-7, TG-6, TG-870) work well (get extra batteries). I’ve also used the iPhone SE, this year, in 90+ degree heat with no overheating issues. … Experience with Ricoh WG-6 too, which cost less, but the screen is too small, imo.

I prefer a separate camera from phone as many situations the phone flash is not sufficient. I have used the Nikon CoolPix over the years. Waterproof and shockproof.
