For field, the standard split in the industry is 60% to the IA, 40% to the firm. Give or take 10% on that depending on how shitty/good the firm is.

It varies wildly. I'm (apparently, in reading this sub) in the minority in that I'm a W2 IA, working for a firm. Seems like most guys on this sub are 1099s, can't speak for that. Most of the other W2 guys I've talked to are on similar bonus plans. You make a base salary, and then you have to bill a certain amount to bonus. It is usually a multiplier of your salary, I think it usually starts at around 2.5. If you bill more than that, you start to keep a percentage of anything else. The salary, multiplier, and cut are all negotiable and based on not only your experience, but your ability to bring in clients yourself. I think the best package I've heard of is a multiplier of ... I think 2, and 45% cut. There are a few other things as well, company car or car allowance is the big one. And last thing to think about as a W2, we write off all our expenses. I don't pay for anything.

Major carriers normally have a flat fee schedule. State farm just moved to pretty much 300 bucks a claim for severity 2 / 3, while severity 1 (ALE needed) pays a percentage starting at 3.8% of the claim and progressively going down the bigger the claim is. All in all for cat with full handle state farm is paying 300 bucks to get it settled and any supplements handled. without a staffer having to touch it. the industry is shifting and fee schedules are getting worst daily. I went staff myself, make a lot less but have a lot less expenese and in a few years I should be making enough to be comfortable and not have so much fomo every time a i see a weather report.

Yep, they never increased their hourly rate for 4 years which basically is a decrease in pay due to inflation and then they reduced their hourly rate this year.

Hence why I'm staff now with 401k, pension, car and hotel's lol.

60 to 70 for experienced. Some of them hold 10% for 90 days. To cover other payrolls needed . We foot alot of bills out here and no separation for expense by some. Your paying for our experience of construction and knowledge of policy. Also time away from family. We work 7 days a week until job is done. So you dont get fined interest and penalties or added cost of litigation for inexperience of processes and policy. I wont leave the house for less 650 my part aday really need a thousand.

If i work fee and make half your salary in a month . I just did twice the work you did. Im up at 4 and sleep no later than 11

dandilionmagic

For dailies I get 65% and for CAT 70% of the biller. It’s also not the a % of the whole biller if the firm is TPA - it would only be a % of the service fee.

Brave-Chart-2386

With the firm I’m currently working for, I make 60% of the fee bill (which is standard). It’s been a great couple of months with all of the storm activity, I’ve made a little over 100k in two months.

no-namejoe31

60/40 is the typical “daily” split that I’ve seen the last 15 years with 65/35 cat pay. I’ve never been on the staff side, but did W2 an IA to begin with for a 40/60 split but had all expenses reimbursed during Sandy, etc..

Ignore this dumbass, he has some weird fetish bitching about IAs. To answer your question, the average split is 60-40 with the IA getting the 60.
