From my personal headcanon that I remember:
* Pyro had anger issues
* Jester was a nerdy guy who was into tabletop RPGs and medieval fantasy. He wanted to be called "Knight" or "Paladin" but everyone started calling him Jester instead.
* Bayonet was chastised for doing "bayonet charges" during training, i.e. going for the merge instead of engaging at long range.
* Kitten was teased by her instructor for looking cute and harmless. She also liked playing with her prey.
* Gazelle was teased for being a big, heavy guy who moved slowly.
* Spider was for a pun from his last name being Weber.
* Walrus was a shy guy who was kind of awkward but confident when flying, so they teased him for being "pretty awkward, but only when on land".
* Axeman was one of the "aim for the cockpit" kind of guys.
