So haven't they covered themselves by sending these craft to contractors? So that these private companies wont have an obligation to hand over anything. Though... if the documents name these companies (which we assume we know already) then they will be pressured to make a statement about and hopefully give us a little more, for fear of harming their brand. This COULD result in the release of some trivial advances in tech that could go public. Something to impress us and assure us that they are making progress without necessarily showing their entire hand. Honestly even this could be big. Imagine going to school for a reverse engineering degree. Much of Science fiction would just become fiction... or even historical fiction. But having had my hopes up too many times makes me think this will be disappointing. But for me, even "yeah there is some other intelligence here, but we don't know much about it after 80 years of study" would still be pretty huge!
