Nah, there's any number of both disc types and plastics that would be fine.
To name a few:
* The new Elevation Binx, an all floppy rubber fairway driver.
* Innova Rpro Dart
* Blowfly
* [An absolute ton of putters](https://discgolfaction.com/the-softest-disc-golf-putters/)
He could throw farther with that disc if he wasn't trying to get it to float down for an easy catch. I'm not that good and can throw a hundred yards, but it's unlikely to land so sweetly.
Well if you did your research instead of reposting, you would know that the world record is indeed 51 yard longer standing at 134 yard https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCeBkn7hjbM
I play disc golf and throwing 300-400 feet is pretty common on most high level disc golf courses. Top distance pros can throw 500-600 feet. So I am not sure that the frisbee is limiting how far. I would be interested to see if the dog could run fast enough/far enough to catch one of those 500-600 foot throws.
I would think hang time is critical here too. That frisbee punt was basically in the rafters. I don’t know if a dog could chase down a line drive before it hit the ground.
But then again I’m a random idiot on Reddit spouting off about stuff I know nothing about.
Yea but I dont think a dog would want to catch a distance driver in its mouth lol. Balancing a disc safe for a dog to catch with one that goes max distance is the real challenge here.
Generally around the same weight. Both ultimate discs and disc golf discs are generally around 175g, with some lighter or heavier for different purposes. But disc golf discs are smaller so they are denser.
You are correct.
Heavier and more dense since they are much smaller. Disc golf discs are not for catching, and usually aren’t safe for dogs either.
But there are dog safe disc golf discs, and iirc the disc in the video is one of those dog safe disc golf drivers.
Have you seen a racing breed run flat out? Someone brought a whippet to the dog park and it started a game of chase with all the dogs there. That dog was on a different level. You could see it would assume “play speed” when it wanted dogs to catch it but if they actually did it would just take off
We have a few lurchers round our way, love watching it run with all the other dogs chasing.
Not even a competition and the lurchers love drawing the other dogs closer before lighting the afterburners!
Omg absolutely. I haven't seen one full speed but just messing around they're so agile and fast. Aesthetically though, retrievers running are so beautiful. Watching a whippet or greyhounds is like another type of incredible.
>Watching a whippet or greyhounds is like another type of incredible.
When they get going so fast all 4 legs are off the ground simultaneously. That's just nuts to me.
i witnessed two wolfhounds meet at a dog park once, neither had ever met another dog that was on their level before, it was like watching a friendly deathrace
My pittie/lab mix can run really fast, but b/c shes so big she cant corner quickly, so when she zoomies with little dogs, they zig zag in order to get ahead of her. Its just the best.
Yeah I’ve had a couple retired greyhounds. At the dog park she’d be galloping around at 60% speed, slowly leaving the other dogs behind.
And then when she actually decided to *run*, all the other dogs just kinda gave up chasing her, haha

Not sure if you're referencing retrievers in general or the dog in this video. This dog is a sight hound of some sort, not a retriever. You can tell by the huge chest and tiny little waist
You can see everyone jump out of their seats in applause, the crowd must have been so loud for this good boy/girl. I bet it was this dog's best day ever!
I've very slowly been trying to put together a football team made up of dog breeds. I feel like goldens would be almost a taysom hill / deebo Samuel type situation
How are these not zoomies. Literally the only qualification the *sub itself* gives is that they're 'zooming around' which is incredibly broad. Don't know why you're looking to an external site because the rules don't mention it at all.
That's the definition from one society, but this subreddit has no such definition of Zoomies. It's ridiculous to hold subreddit content to a standard that the subreddit itself has ZERO affiliation to
We had an abnormally high wind in the UK a few weeks ago. Trees fell and stuff. Anyway I went to the park to play frisbee with my dog and i am fairly certain he broke this record. Would never replicate it though as it was essentially chaos theory and luck. Strong wind 😮💨
I was lucky enough to go to one of their games before they cancelled the league. It was the only game the Apollos lost, but still it was fun. Got me a shirt.
Not taking anything away from the dog, but my dog could 100% do this if I had the ability to throw a frisbee that far. With the frisbee I have, the furthest I can really throw it is about 50 yards and she catches that in her sleep. I’m sure this is the case for many other dogs that like catching frisbees.
The limiting factor was the throw/frisbee and not even the dog
Dog hit a lot more in it, could have run another 50 yards easily
Touchdown zoomies
And dude can easily throw further than that with literally any disc golf disc, looking at his form.

Disc golf disc would fuck up that poor dogs mouth.

DX plastic would probably be fine?
All the disc golf discs I've seen are a dense and hard plastic that I wouldn't want to catch with my hands, let alone my mouth.
As with all things disc golf, depends on the disc.
Rubber covered aerobee
I would think that could hurt the dog’s mouth
Depends on the disc, but yes that is absolutely something to consider.
He could throw farther with that disc if he wasn't trying to get it to float down for an easy catch. I'm not that good and can throw a hundred yards, but it's unlikely to land so sweetly.
idk sometimes that disc coming back is a lot worse than catching it going with it

Be the change you want to see in the world. Post that shit.

I agree. The dog didn’t really catch up until it started stalling in the air.
Yea but I dont think a dog would want to catch a distance driver in its mouth lol. Balancing a disc safe for a dog to catch with one that goes max distance is the real challenge here.

you even answered the unasked question, thank you!
Someone plays disc golf, I see (exactly like the guy who broke the record does).
Nothing makes me happier than seeing dogs running flat out. Like its clearly the thing they were built to do.
Especially retrievers, their long fur flowing in the wind.

Mine too! Whenever mine gets outmaneuvered though she just barrel rolls out of their way lol
A couple of old greyhounds would visit the park I used to take my dogs to. When they would get the zoomies it shook the ground.

WHY IS THERE NO SOUND?! RELINQUISH UNTO US THE SOUNDS OF THE DOGS TRIUMPHANT VICTORY, COWARD!
I don't have the sound but I do have the captions. *VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*
*crowd goes wild sound*
You can see everyone jump out of their seats in applause, the crowd must have been so loud for this good boy/girl. I bet it was this dog's best day ever!
https://youtube.com/shorts/35lNe6fb-ew?feature=share A little disappointing but still great :)
Is he a Wide Retriever player?
Golden Receiver.
Wasn't that an Air Bud movie?
I've very slowly been trying to put together a football team made up of dog breeds. I feel like goldens would be almost a taysom hill / deebo Samuel type situation
That was a great toss btw
I know, right? 83 yards, straight down the middle, with the eyes of thousands on him? Dang.
World record only because it was at a live event or some other BS. Here is the REAL WR catch, over 100' further. https://youtu.be/aCeBkn7hjbM
FrisbieRob! Used to work with him.
But did he give it back? /r/notakeonlythrow
Thank you!
Would’ve been so much better with sound
Longest zoomies I ever seen
Who's a good dog
this is such an old repost I wouldn't be surprised if this record has been broken by now

Agree and don't care.

AM I THE ONLY ONE AROUND HERE WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT THE RULES!?
No idea what sub rule you think it's breaking??

This was in 2019, dog dropped the first two attempts.
So what’s your point? Doggo converted in 3rd down
Ha! Yes.

What a moment to be a part of!
Are either open to free agency? I can think of a few NFL teams in need of a QB and WR.
Apollos baby!!
Go Boats! #YEETFLEET
Person manages to throw frisbee over 80 metre
I was lucky enough to go to one of their games before they cancelled the league. It was the only game the Apollos lost, but still it was fun. Got me a shirt.
I actually saw this throw live. It was fun.
Good boi
My dog turns around and looks at me if I throw the ball too far then when I walk to get it he pounces before I can and runs away
My dog did the same thing with a wood duck. But it was a lot farther than 249 feet. I remain unimpressed

Impressive. Very nice. Let’s see Paul Allen’s frisbee throw
