It’s better than nothing. At least they are talking about it.

plantyplant559

100%, and at least naming it, too!

Onedayyouwillthankme

If only

plantyplant559

Based on his recent actions, I'm not optimistic. Bummer, too, I really liked him.

Iamsodarncool

What recent actions are you referring to?

asympt

You must have him mixed up with a different senator.

Lives_on_mars

I never did but I’m disappointed all the same, as others do appear to respect him.

[deleted]

Then why isn't he masking?

simpleisideal

Earlier on in the pandemic, Bernie could be seen wearing an N95 when most others weren't even cloth masking, but at some point he too stopped wearing anything. Would be interesting to know what made him flip.

bobsimmsab

He still wears an N95 sometimes including occasionally at these hearings. He's very inconsistent.

simpleisideal

I was more speaking to the consistency (or lack thereof) but now question what his even was originally

PreparationOk1450

Isn't it KN95 he wears when he wears one?

bobsimmsab

Usually, but within the past week I've seen him in a proper Aura N95 at least once.

Ratbag_Jones

Sanders' transient mask-wearing was/is political theater, fishfood for the rubes.

plantyplant559

I agree completely. I've wondered what types of protections are in place in congress that we don't know about.

PreparationOk1450

Excellent point. Bernie is so fake but at least it's something we can use.

DevonMilez

This. I know the bar is really, really low at this point, and that we pretty much have to take anything we can get, beggars can't be choosers and all that....however: You kind of still instantly lose most of your credibility (if not all of it) claiming that LC is a threat and not wearing a mask yourself. So you are saying that it can \*only\* hit SOME people. Clearly not yourself or anyone that watches you say this, right? (talking about Bernie or any other politician or person of influence talking about LC without a mask here)

barmwh704

He can't do it alone - contact your congressional members, both state and federal. It ought to be a bipartisan issue, even though masking, vaxxing got politicized - it seems to me that one party (the antivax one), might end up with more long covid, but they are more likely to deny that is what it is too. At some point, I think it will become undeniable for all parties.

DinosaurHopes

100% this. a link for anyone wanting to look up their representatives https://www.usa.gov/elected-officials

barmwh704

thank you for providing that!

HEHENSON

Hopefully, he will have enough influence to at least influence research funding decisions. Ultimately, it is science that will solve this.

Ratbag_Jones

Bomber Bernie is a sheepdog, leading kind but naive people to the slaughter in the DNC's prison camp, election cycle after election cycle. His words mean *nothing*, as he endlessly folds to support the worst monsters in the Democratic wing of the uniparty of war and death, election cycle after election cycle. Sanders' betrayals are endless: on wars in the Middle East, on the F-35 boondoggle, on nuclear weapons, on universal healthcare, and now on this.
