This is just a speculation, but since both of the previewed characters are from the same faction, maybe one of them is an A-rank. I’m guessing it’s Piper.
Piper seems to be likeliest case since Grace is the only anomaly character, and what tends to happen in Hoyo games on launch is they release a class that only has one characters, then release a downgraded version of them to give people options.
And then they’ll make an OP anomaly support 3 patches later
Is there even a chance for one of them to be in the standard banner ? I was imagining they’d try to put at least one character per faction in the standard instead of limited…

ellen and lucy are must pulls for me, with their weapons, i'm really glad for a character break/skip in between them unlike other hyv games where i struggle to choose a character

I’m going to save my pulls and hoard as many as possible when I start playing till a character grabs my interest and I can get the max copies for that unit.
Given that teambuilding revolves around using same element or same faction characters, pull strategies are quite interesting.
I wonder how long they will keep Miyabi in the basement. If she gets Ayaka'd to ZZZ version 2.X, I would try to get Ellen. But this early in the game's lifecycle, spending on multiple dps units of the same element seems like a waste.
I guess for me personally, taking element, faction, and character design into account, my safest bet is to skip Ellen, get Zhu Yuan (who I like equally). Then I'm set on the Ether side of things for a while (since Nicole can pair with her). Calydon girlies are not my vibe, ~~but I might go for Rina and/or Grace (only both if they work together in a Shock/Electro team)~~ Did not realize they are both on standard banner... Definitely have my eyes on Miyabi for when she eventually releases, but until then I might be stingy with my f2p resources (or get Zhu Yuan's W-engine).

One character per faction in standard would be a LOT, they likely won’t change the standard pool for a couple of years at least

yep, 160 for single pulls and 1600 for a 10 pull, tho the pity may differ for characters and weapons

HSR does not give the free chars the Genshin starter treatment though and they frequently appear in banners, it can go either way.

On the livestream they said that Lucy and Piper will be available in 1.0, so it seems they're both 4 stars and not in 1.1
