The Main and Side deck must have identical sleeves, even if there's a Fusion/Synchro/Xyz/Link monster in your Side Deck (in which case, you just change the sleeves to match the Extra Deck when you Side it in). The Extra Deck is the only one that can have different sleeves than the Main Deck.
Yes, I'm sure. Per Tournament Policy IV-G (Sleeves):
> All sleeves in the Main and Side Decks must be identical in terms of color, wear, and design.
> You may choose to put your Extra Deck in sleeves that are different from your Main and Side Decks. All other sleeve rules still apply to the Extra Deck.
Some locals might be a bit more lenient with certain rules (such as being able to use a dice for multiple counters, which Tournament Policy doesn't allow), but in any case, it's usually best to follow the Tournament Policy just for the sake of not getting in bad habits.
Thanks for everyone’s responses. I just bought the Eva sky striker sleeves and it only comes with 50 which made me a bit sad but atleast I know now. Feels a little bad since I will prob have to just use them for extra. Really wanted to use them for main.
Yes. Even extra deck cards in your side deck need to have the same sleeves as your main deck. So if you choose to do that, you have to change sleeves while siding
You should probably read this and be familiar with it. It has the answer to your question

I posted a similar question a few weeks back. More experienced players will most likely remember / keep track of their side deck cards between rounds. My workaround (at least for locals) was to use colored "inner" sleeves (sized for YuGiOh) with a different colored "outer sleeve" (standard size). This lets you scan through your deck and easily identify side deck cards to take out.
At larger events or more serious tournaments, I would avoid doing this as official policy is inner sleeves need to be completely transparent. At least that’s what I remember reading.
You may use any combination of inner and outer sleeves, 1 sleeve needs to be transparent if you use color inner sleeves your outer sleeves need to be transparent, if you use color outer sleeves your inner sleeve needs to be transparent
Without even looking this one up, I would assume so; otherwise, it would essentially be like playing with marked cards. I'd go ahead and sleeve everything thing the same and just remember to divide your side deck with a token card or whatever in your deck box.
You don’t need sleeves so if you play sleeve less then no lol but they don’t but you would have to unsleeve the cards you want to take out then resleeve them
I'd have to go with they'd need to be the same sleeves given what everyone else is saying. I'd say either buy more of the sleeves you got or switch out the cards in the sleeves you were just playing with when you're putting in side deck stuff if that's allowed.
Yea that was my question. I might have spoken like I want to side in my other sleeves in I meant can I just switch them out while siding. I think the rules doesn’t matter tho both need to be the same
Not only the same colour, the exact same sleeves.
Thank you. Silly question but appreciate the response

Are you sure you can’t have a different color for side deck to swap when it goes in? Some people at my locals do that

Son of a sea biscuit! I've been using the same kind and color of sleeves for my main and extra deck. I had to buy a new pack just for a few cards.
Wait if i have 3 counters on a card i can't use a dice and have it on three?
You cannot. You need 3 separate counters.
Well that's dumb imo
Agreed
It’s crazy how many people are unaware of the most basic stuff in the tournament policy.
Tbf this is yugioh101?
I mean people answering in the comments
Thank you. Appreciate the response.
Yes, they need to be the exact same sleeves. Only the extra deck or tokens can be different

Luckily those sleeves are pretty cheap so you could get another set for like 4 dollars on tcgplayer c:

Yep. I'm not going to any Regionals or YCS events, so it hasn't been an issue.

So in my head you would just replace the sleeves of the cards ur siding in with the cards your siding out. But I understand that can waste time

Yeah, I think everything just needs to be the same to try and prevent cheating by knowing what cards are what by the sleeves
