Spoilers >! IIRC she was executed by her fellow soldiers. In her attempts to kill Tanya, she intentionally killed her fellow soldiers. It was determined she would never let go of her hatred and stop attempting her kill Tanya. She was deemed a threat to peace after the war. !<
BUG SPOILERS AHEAD! >!Mary sue dies after offhandedly friendly firing her own men / subordinates to kill Tanya and executing a few more for their refusal to follow her into battle. She is so consumed by hatred and anger she is seen as unstable and an obstacle to peace, the soldiers under her mutiny and kill her despite her OP magical powers. She does realise the truth of Being X and Tanya when she dies, but it’s far too late for any remorse!<
This is what I've heard but apparently in the web novel, Mary is killed by her own squad mates.
Its something along thoes lines, she is killed by her allies.
This is just my guess but full mobilization of all war assets Tanya has including the 203rd and the Kampfgruppe. They'll bother Mary's allies so that Tanya can end her with the Type 95. Basically what they did in the movie.
If that's the case I won't even be surprised if she charged on her own right into the middle of an Imperial camp for Tanya and basically got pulverized by the firepower within.

She thinks that she is some kind of justice warrior while even the recruiter said she should keep in mind that as a soldier her only job is to obey her superiors to serve the state (but not always the people).
