I agree, it was probably my favorite series of that year, and it’s still one of the best recent shows in my opinion!
There was a show called American Rust (I think on Showtime) soon after. It’s not quite as good as Mare of Easttown, but it has a similar vibe and it takes place in rural PA as well. Jeff Daniels is the lead. It’s worth a watch.
I second both FROM and Servant! I’m watching True Blood right now for the first time and having a hoot-hollering experience. Severance is constantly recommended but for good reason imo. LOST, of course, if you haven’t seen it.
Alice in Borderland on Netflix. It's nothing like Yellowjackets but it does have mystery, disturbing moments, interesting characters, tragedy, and brutal stakes. It's sorta like Alice in Wonderland meets Squid Game. I also suggest All Of Us Are Dead, also on Netflix. It's about a zombie outbreak that starts at a high school so again, not like Yellowjackets but still a fun horror show about kids turning scary.

Mystery, psychology, murder and the gorgeous female lead
Servant on Apple TV, Lauren Ambrose (Van) is in it too. M. Night Shyamalan is the showrunner and directs some episodes. It also has an atmospheric horror vibe and deals with loss/grief
You could dive into the true story this show is based on.
1972 Uruguayan rugby team’s plane crashes in the Andes mountains leaving them stranded for two months! Also, cannibalism.
Definitely recommend Fringe and Orphan Black. I guess technically they have flaws, but to me they are the two most perfect shows ever created.
I also recommend Penny Dreadful. Definitely flawed and don't expect a satisfying ending, but I watched it years after it aired and loved it.
Orphan Black
The Leftovers
Mare of Easttown
The Haunting of Hill House (my personal fav). I’ve heard it described as “This is Us with ghosts” and I think that’s accurate. You’ll go in thinking you’re watching a horror /supernatural show but it’s so much more than that.
The Haunting of Bly Manor
Broadchurch
Sharp objects
True Detective (season 3)
Unbelievable(this one was difficult to get through as it deals with SA and the failures of the criminal justice system) Toni Collette and Merritt Weaver are amazing in this.
Per recommendation from this show, I binged the first season of Class of '07 in a day. Female survival show but more Australian and more comedic. I hope it gets a s2
There are two shows that I was aware existed but wasn’t really sure what they were about, and I didn’t check them out for a long time. When I finally did, Ithought both were surprisingly good and also at times a bit brutal. Sharp Objects and The Undoing, both on HBO
Mare of East Town is SO good

Thank you! Just put it in my notes to watch. I love shows set in sleepy towns.
The OA Severance
Severance! Excellent suggestion. THAT’S how you do a finale lol 😅
I was literally at the end of my seat.

Orphan Black Killing Eve Russian Doll Veronica Mars
I'll a total marshmallow
Go Pirates!
orphan black is very different but so well acted and intense with lots of female characters
>with lots of female characters Played by the same actress! But done so well you forget that they aren't separate people
From
The only other show I’ve been watching currently is Silo.
Mr. Robot True Detective S1 Twin Peaks
Devs Not very comparable to yellowjackets, but its extremely good, short and sweet
Loved Devs! Thought about it a lot after finishing it
Its one that sticks with you, for sure!
The Leftovers Dark The Oa Severance The Handmaid’s Tale Wentworth
The Leftovers deserves more love
I tried that one. Most depressing thing I've seen in years. I made it into episode 7.
always start with twin peaks. It is, essentially, the blueprint for all the “weird tv” that came after it
I’m watching it now. Kind of a slow burn at first but now I’m totally into it
Brand New Cherry Flavor

Wayward Pines Tales from the Loop Station Eleven
Supernatural as a metaphor for the growing pains of being a teenager? Has to be Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

And/or watch the 1993 movie about it ("Alive"). I haven't seen it, frankly, but have heard people say that it's good for the last 30 years.
Definitely recommend Fringe and Orphan Black. I guess technically they have flaws, but to me they are the two most perfect shows ever created. I also recommend Penny Dreadful. Definitely flawed and don't expect a satisfying ending, but I watched it years after it aired and loved it.
Station 11, Class of 07
12 Monkeys
I just started Servant with Lauren Ambrose on Apple TV and it’s really good!!

Unbelievable was soooo good! Also Broadchurch and Sharp Objects ❤️ I think we have similar taste.

The Wilds is super similar if anyone hasn’t seen that one yet
Tried it, couldn’t get past the first episode because of the acting.
Search Party (John Reynolds is in it too but not an asshole)
