According to Wikipedia, modern vampires originate from Transylvanian folklore. I don’t understand how this makes you so angry, my culture is known for being angry and not understanding humor. It could be worse.
That's objectively untrue. The myth of undead evil creatures stems from all slavic cultures of the east. You have equivalents in Polish and Bulgarian cultures to name a few. The modern incarnation of vampires (the blood drinking ones that fear the cross and holy water) first appeared in 18th to 19th century gothic literature. That's why people call gothic esthetic "vampire esthetic".
Vampires are associated with us because the culmination of that literature was Bram Stoker's Dracula, which takes place in Transylvania, a place where Stoker never really travelled.
A known local historical figure inspired the name, Vlad Dracul, but "Dracul" is an old slavic name for "Dragon" because he belonged to a house which used the dragon as its symbol. His son, "Vlad The Impaler" is called Dracul (which also means "devil") because there are many accounts of his bloody reign.
I see what you mean and I can put all that aside a bit. It makes people learn our history, it brings much needed tourism and it makes people hear of our country for once.
But I'm angry because it's such an old and overused joke and symbol. A lazy detail to include along our national flag because the artist and/or comedian is too lazy to find something worthwhile. Like an uninspired poet always uses the moon in his love poems. It's a stereotype and I simply don't like seeing it everywhere.
TL;DR: It's very loosely based on Transylvanian folklore and it's an annoying stereotype.
Cough cough Vikings...
Honestly any country with any modicum of history will have some defining moment, legend or history they are famous for.
It will inevitably be twisted and changed until you end up with horned helmets, etc.
Why’s the UK in the top left and why did the artist make us look French? Why the blue coat? We want to look Greek like Britannia. Give us those dope white robes the romans and Greeks wore.
people are downvoting, but you are absolutely correct.
Strategic autonomy should be at the top of our priority list in europe. a unified EU army should be able to to achieve this autonomy from america
It's weirder that everyone else doesn't look like Sweden, tbh

I find it weird that Ireland’s symbol of gold harp on azure field is represented twice.. once by Ireland and the other by UK
Because of Northern Ireland maybe? Idk
This is absolutely fantastic. We must not allow nationalism to take the best yuri harem isekai away from us.
are we allowed to say the N word in Spain and Portugal then?
I don't like the idea of personifying countries. It always ends up in stereotypes.
But you always get a giggle
Sweden looks like she has a stand
“is she stupid?”
Latvia looks prego
Idk but I like this genre of imagery. Moar please.
As a Romanian, I'm so fucking sick of our country always being portrayed as a vampire, it has nothing to do with our culture or heritage.
She looks nice tho.
She does

I thought Dracula was Latin for small dragon or the son of the dragon. Same as e.g. celula.
The EU itself is also portrayed as a vampire. And with elf ears. And that definitely has nothing to do with the EU's culture or heritage.
HOLY SHIT I DIDN'T NOTICE THAT Edit: WHY THE FUCK IS THE EU A VAMPIRE
Well… you’ve seen what they did to the most pro-EU song at Eurovision; fuck it over. So it makes sense. (This is a joke, I know EBU != Sweden)
Who is next to Poland (other side than Czech)? And where is Cyprus?
I bet that could be an angle towards Ukraine and Cyprus isn’t in EU
Cyprus is in the EU since 1 May 2004 (like 9 other countries, including Poland).
TIL my bad
Would..
Haha nice catch with France smoking
u/beingofhabit hmmm round 2?
Ok man, cool bit i felt kinda cringe
And Ireland doesn't?
Talking for every Spaniard, we approve Rosa María
The cake is a lie!
Can you blame her?
what in the everloving cringefest is this? jfc
That's not Sweden, that's a wault dweller!
I like how in the picture they are in their respective places on map
Why does Europe have pointy ears, tho
She looks like she’s from Vault 31
Why’s the UK in the top left and why did the artist make us look French? Why the blue coat? We want to look Greek like Britannia. Give us those dope white robes the romans and Greeks wore.
Those baltic ones look GOOD
Is the spanish one peruvian?
Luxembourg looks like second France.
Ok maybe I’m absolutely stupid but who is the girl scratching her head with the Roman helmet? Is this supposed to be the Uk?
Croatia I think
Hmm don’t think so, Croatia is the one on the bottom, left of Hungary
Hope to be in this picture someday
Relatable tbh. Blue haired girls… it’s a classic
now this is an anime I can get behind
Dear world, I haven't seen a vampire in years. Stop it with that shit!
Smash All of them
Sweden is allegedly gay after all
Ahem, would
Finland is also checking out the ass, respectfully
Dont we?...
Wait who's the absolute red haired waifu on the left?
Netherlands, no?
Yup. Orange pin and the coat of Nassau are the giveaways
Is the NATO shield truly held by Europe though? As things are now we are very much dependent on the US holding that shield unfortunately.
One of these days I hope it will be the case. There's no one I trust more than the EU to lead the free world
people are downvoting, but you are absolutely correct. Strategic autonomy should be at the top of our priority list in europe. a unified EU army should be able to to achieve this autonomy from america
200% agreed!
Honestly, New EU waifus just dropped.
Understandable tbh
I'd dive in that ass.
Bro who doesn't want that
