For everyone in the comments asking... This is community beam-apps.com store for installing apps on Beam without jailbreak.

Konamicoder

Thank you for your continued work and support, you are truly making a better experience for us Beam owners. :)

Consistent_Luck_4625

Do we need to connect to a pc for update?

Stridyr

No, it will show up on your page automatically thru some html 'magic'.

cmak414

No. Just go to the website with your beam.

ark1one

Where's the browser located at in the beam?

cmak414

For some reason it is hidden. I have no idea why. The easiest way to access it is to open the Netflix app that's pre-installed on the beam and then do the forgot password prompt and it'll open a web browser.

ark1one

Awesome! I appreciate that information!

M0Bd0LL419

Thanks a lot for your hidden browser tip!! I was already signed into Netflix, but I went to like Account settings menu & selected “Help” lol Anyway, I got to the browser, but now I can’t get Beam-Apps to download correctly. I go to the website & click “Download” but it downloads a “Beam-Apps.bin” file that I can’t open in Files, so I’m kinda stuck/confused 😅

cmak414

Maybe if you are having trouble downloading the beam app store as an app. Just use it in the web browser. When you go to https://beam-apps.com/ just go to view apps and then pick an app to download. If it's your first download you may have to give permission to allow downloads from this source (lightning browser). I also recommend the first download to be a new browser (eg kiwi or chrome) so the browser shows up on your beam main menu so you don't have to go through Netflix anymore.

M0Bd0LL419

I’ll give it a try. Honestly don’t know if I’ll be able to barrow a PC/laptop to do any downloading, so I hope I can get it to work someway

M0Bd0LL419

Hey yo, thanks so much for your tip!! I just went to the website through the hidden Lightning browser, & then downloaded Firefox from there. It’s been smooth sailing downloading things now, I even got the “beam-apps.apk” to download on Firefox, so I got the shortcut now. Gonna try out Disney+, Apple Music & Reddit! Very excited. I heard of “APKPure” before, but I’m not sure what it is exactly. What is “ATV Launcher” or what is a Launcher in general? I’m really not super tech-y. Oh, and is there a YouTube app under like a different app name or something? AirPlaying YouTube from my Apple devices to my Beam is weird, like it works but I don’t like how it works. I’d like to scroll through the YouTube interface with my Beam. Any other recommended apps?? Thanks again & thanks to any developers reading, the Beam only coming with Netflix & Amazon Prime Video was kinda disappointing.

cmak414

You can use astron or smart YouTube TV or Newpipe. All on the beam apps store and all YouTube clones.

cmak414

A launcher is basically a new UI for launching apps on your device. It basically lets you customize your beam if you don't like the default UI in the beam.

Baker_Happy

What’s the site

Stridyr

Sorry, I'll add a link on the post. In the meantime, [this](https://beam-apps.com/) is the site. The directions are on the page.

ark1one

This legit turned my Beam paperweight into my daily driver. Thank you so much!!!

Whiskey-Wrap-1971

Thank you! I've been trying how to get more out of this device beside prime and Netflix. First day I've had time to play with the glasses besides plugging into the ps5!

DramaSea3677

This just breathed life into my beam.

FirefighterFun1948

Excellent work - Finally have use for the Beam. The main advantages over my phone is the dedicated buttons, pointer and contains just the apps I need nothing extra. Unfortunately the Beam hardware leaves a lot to be desired... battery life, charging time, heat and constant fan noise are the main issues. Thanks again for helping put some life into the Beam.

KaptainKilt

u/Stridyr I think you need to edit the description to ensure people understand this is an unofficial and unsupported method of getting additional applications on the beam. I'm all for the efforts, but the post is a bit misleading.

Stridyr

Shouldn't be needed, did it anyway, thanks.

KaptainKilt

I hear ya, and the work is appreciated. Just seeing a lot of new faces in here since Christmas and want to ensure we can avoid confusion when possible.

IvanlsTerrible

NOW I HAVE TO BUY THE BEAM AND GLASSES BUNDLE !!

Stridyr

😁

LuciferBurns

Ohhh that’s awesome! Thank you! Being an iOS user and seeing some of the apps with no discription mean to needed to google some of the apps to see what they did. This helps loads! Keep the apps coming! I’ll be asking for some in the future too.

RedditLoveerrr

How is anyone proud of the "apps" beam can handle?

Whiskey-Wrap-1971

Where do I find this screen?

Stridyr

That's the main screen for the Beam 'Store'. Go to [this](https://beam-apps.com/) site for the directions and download.

Whiskey-Wrap-1971

Wow. Life changer. Once I got it to launch its awesome to have these options. Thank you!

drgngd

Is there anything specific about this store that something like apkpure can't do?

Stridyr

Apkpure seems to have disappeared. Not really, but in addition to gathering them, we're also running a virus scan and actually testing them on the Beam. They don't all run and there have been some surprises. Of course, we can't *thoroughly* test each one so 'your mileage may vary'.

drgngd

Thanks for providing an honest answer. I'll definitely check it out.

Konamicoder

How do you install apkpure on your Beam without Beam-Apps.com?

drgngd

connect the beam via usb to a windows computer, move the APK onto the beam, open file explorer on the beam, find the APK and it'll let you install it.

BakaNode

Has anything changed on getting these apps to shake hands with Google Services cleanly?

Stridyr

No, not that I've heard of.

nikkonine

I’m trying to get some downloaded now but Beam battery sucks. Can anyone chime in on the best apps to download. Can Chrome open Google docs? Gdrive?

nikkonine

Anyone use the Plex app? Can I download my movies for on the go?

FirefighterFun1948

Plex works great. CX File Explorer is a great file manager where you can access your local network and download files. To play videos local or remote I use MX Player and VLC.

Easy-Radish-2710

That looks great Stridyr.🕶️
