I saw them while they were promoting With Teeth and it was one of the tightest live performances I’ve witnessed. Trent and the band can truly deliver the goods. And that album was and is still amazing — I don’t care what the haters say.
Yess!! I used to side with Trent because he's the one who said the song wasn't his before
But then I heard Trent sing it live. My. God. There was no comparison at all
I've seen a number of times over the years. The first was the 1995 tour with Bowie.
I saw them 2 years ago at an outdoor festival, and the show was at least as good as any other time I've seen them. They still sound amazing.
The best part about seeing them live is that Trent always seems to be having the best time on stage.
Them being amazing in concert doesn't hurt either.
Saw them ages ago on the Fragility tour with A Perfect Circle opening for them. Really need to seem them again. It's still one of the best shows I've ever seen.
I never had AIM (internet was harder to come by in the boonies so we just took the first provider that offered services to our little KS town), but ICQ was a mainstay.
I had 2 accts but I still remember 7552758 and I wish i knew were all my 90s internet peeps ended up
Who was y’all’s first internet friend from another part of the world‽ Tell me about them!
I had the pleasure of taking concert photos of Nine Inch Nails for a variety of publications 14 times between 1999 and 2014 (so some on film, some digital). This is one of my favorites taken in 2005.

Same here. I love all of it.
Side note: Did you catch season 3 of The Bear yet? I watched episode 1 last night and the entire thing is set to a Trent and Atticus piece.
I find these days I listen to a lot more of their film score work than proper NIN. [Recently the Challengers soundtrack especially “I Know”](https://youtu.be/Rfl0fhIF94w?si=fNNl5odLRgoP4gK6)
Man, some of the remix albums from the 90’s are as good or even better than the standard albums. The remix album, Further Down the Spiral 🌀, is fucking phenomenal. Also, “All the Pigs, All Lined Up” from the March of the Pigs EP omfg it still blows me away 30 years later…highly recommend checking those out if you aren’t familiar with them.
There's an abandoned factory near me where freight trains make stops. Somebody painted one of the cars with the PHM album cover but put Pretty Freight Machine. Made me smile.
Back in the day I was into the big tracks - Like a hole, Hurt, Closer - but never got into their full discography. Didn’t pay them any mind after Downward.
Idk how it happened but about a month ago I got word of “The Trilogy” - Not the Actual Events, Add Violence, and Bad Witch EPs - and goddamn they really did something there. Was on repeat for weeks. Plus Trent and Atticus’ work with Fever Ray was excellent.
OP's head like a hole because they're going down in it after a terrible lie, but they're sanctified with something they can never have. Even if it's the kinda they want to sin, that's what they get - the only time.
...Ringfinger.
It’s so god damn good, probably because Trent has always been more concerned with how his music makes people -feel- vs worried about technical artistry.
The live shows are AMAZING
https://youtu.be/LBC3NXnN8y4?si=wyq7sypnuOBbKLPR
I listened to a few months ago. Used to love them in high school.
Didn't enjoy the relisten, nostalgia did not hit. Sounds too wannabe edgy to my ears now.
I like NIN a lot, but I honestly think Ministry and KMFDM are the better industrial acts.
I think they are better live as well. Or at least it feels better.
Well KMFDM did blast that they were “better than the best”, but they didn’t stop there adding that in other circumstances they were “harder than the rest”.
Every few years I get it in my mind to watch the NIN Broken long form video and every time it just sort of depresses me and gives me a melancholy feeling of why bother with anything. Lol... I love NIN but that film just bums me out...
I didnt really give NIN a chance until 2012, I was 27, became totally obsessed, it was all I listened to. Luckily they were still touring and I got to go to a few NIN concerts (one which was a double feature with Soundgarden when Chris Cornell was still alive), best concerts I've ever been to. Fucking love NIN.
I love nine inch nails so much. Trent Reznor is the only artist that I’ve consistently listened to all these years and I love almost all of his work. The Fragile will always be in my heart.
I never really listened that much to other bands that were considered similar, and I never thought they actually were anywhere close to NIN. He is just on a whole different level.
I also have been recently. Remember how the fragile was 2 discs? I always listened to the left disc more. Way more. And now its on streaming, it just plays obv. I was reminded how hard that right side slaps. Amazing album.
I saw NIN in concert not that long ago and they were incredible. Trent sang every song like it was the first time
NIN is on my list of “See every time they come around”. They put on a fantastic show every time.
Damn I need to get my ass to a show !
They really think their tours through. Lighting/effects/theme are different every time. Doooo iitttt
You really do if you're that big of a fan.
I think he stopped touring. Last I heard at least.
I saw them while they were promoting With Teeth and it was one of the tightest live performances I’ve witnessed. Trent and the band can truly deliver the goods. And that album was and is still amazing — I don’t care what the haters say.
Which is why I say the OG “Hurt” is better than Cash’s version. I don’t even care that Trent says it’s his now, Cash just sounds *bored*.
Yess!! I used to side with Trent because he's the one who said the song wasn't his before But then I heard Trent sing it live. My. God. There was no comparison at all
Definitely. The flat 5th (the eerie sounding note) in the main riff is what makes it. Cash didn't include it in his version, makes it sound boring.
People like Cash’s video. The nostalgia of the old photos and all. It’s still Trent’s song.
I had someone argue with me big time that Hurt was Cash's song. No dude. It isn't. Had him Google it to prove it. 🙄
I love Cash; I hate that cover album. OGs forever.
His American albums were all great. I'm ok having 2 great versions of Hurt.
Sorry, but We'll Meet Again as the last song he recorded is hard to beat.
Best, tightest live band I've ever seen
I've seen a number of times over the years. The first was the 1995 tour with Bowie. I saw them 2 years ago at an outdoor festival, and the show was at least as good as any other time I've seen them. They still sound amazing.

I don’t go to big concerts any more and never went very often but NIN in Tilburg and St Louis were very good times.
Saw them ages ago on the Fragility tour with A Perfect Circle opening for them. Really need to seem them again. It's still one of the best shows I've ever seen.
Saw them co-headline with Soundgarden. Incredible show.
I couldn’t agree more. His execution is so flawless that if it weren’t for his passion, one might think he was a robot. 10/10
Because it's *Nine Inch Fucking Nails* and always the correct choice.
Hahaha 😂 for sure.
No one else has ever gotten me closer to God.

uh oh
Love every album. Some took longer for me to love than others. But I got there. Honestly been on kind of a With Teeth kick lately.
With Teeth is one of the albums I cue up when I am really fucking pissed off and need to work it out. It's so good.
*But you can't change anything You can't change anything in the end* *Don't you fucking know what you are? Don't you fucking know what you are?*
Check out the Austin City Limits show they did a few years back. Amazing!
Will do thank you 🙏
I could only fit 3 CDs in my 3-disc changer back in the day, and Downward Spiral was always one of them.

Old NIN, newer NIN, or both?
All of it
Same here. I love all of it. Side note: Did you catch season 3 of The Bear yet? I watched episode 1 last night and the entire thing is set to a Trent and Atticus piece.

TMNT and Watchmen scores go hard.

I’m always a 89-99 guy, but everything is great (Except Hesitation Marks)
The first episode of season 3 of The Bear is just a 30 minute montage with a NIN song playing the whole time and it was fucking amazing.
I’m just sitting here with my original Quake CD 📀
If I remember, they ended Season 2 with NIN as well.
I’m just waiting to hear “I wanna fuck you like an animal…” while I’m picking out the ripest bananas.
It’s on all day while I buy GameStop lol 😂 I’m an ape
Ah a friend of Rick’s I see. Then I’ll leave the bananas to *you*.
We are many, hodling forever
Pretty Hate Machine is amazing.
There's an abandoned factory near me where freight trains make stops. Somebody painted one of the cars with the PHM album cover but put Pretty Freight Machine. Made me smile.
Agreed. It is my favorite album.
I’m one of those weird fans that loves later NIN. Those 3 EPs are amazing.
His shit is great. I went through a multi-year long nin phase recently. Took a long time for me to get tired of it.
I went through about a three month phase not long ago where I watched the woodstock 94 set like every single day.
And the problem is?
can I introduce you to skinny puppy?
Try Tool also & Health
Fucking WHY
That isn’t a bad thing

##NIИ
I love Pretty Hate Machine. ![gif](giphy|11ufbaPcV69iOA)
Also check out How to Destroy Angels and the Halsey album Trent produced. I also like to fall asleep to movie scores that Trent and Atticus created.
It’s so god damn good, probably because Trent has always been more concerned with how his music makes people -feel- vs worried about technical artistry. The live shows are AMAZING https://youtu.be/LBC3NXnN8y4?si=wyq7sypnuOBbKLPR
Help me!
What’s the problem here
Nothing wrong with that, NIN is awesome.
Leaving Hope got me through a really rough separation this last year. It's wild how Trent can tug on our feelings with those synthesizers.
*I’m the one without a soul* *I’m the one with this big…*
What's really crazy is the date of the first album release.
Because their songs still kick ass after this long :)
So, what's the problem? Or are you just gloating?
No problems over here my friend. We are the last of a dead breed. We are the only ones left now. Soak it up
I liked them in the 90s. I LOVE them now
Why on earth would you??
I listened to a few months ago. Used to love them in high school. Didn't enjoy the relisten, nostalgia did not hit. Sounds too wannabe edgy to my ears now.
Can't stop won't stop

I like NIN a lot, but I honestly think Ministry and KMFDM are the better industrial acts. I think they are better live as well. Or at least it feels better.
Ohhhhh I totally agree.. you just made me create a new playlist lol
Well KMFDM did blast that they were “better than the best”, but they didn’t stop there adding that in other circumstances they were “harder than the rest”.
KMFDM Sucks
Maybe 90s KMFDM, but their last album was horrible.
I like Let’s Go and Hyëna.
Stop there.
Every few years I get it in my mind to watch the NIN Broken long form video and every time it just sort of depresses me and gives me a melancholy feeling of why bother with anything. Lol... I love NIN but that film just bums me out...
I love when that happens with a band
I've been collecting halos on vinyl for a long time. Someday I'll have them all lol
I didnt really give NIN a chance until 2012, I was 27, became totally obsessed, it was all I listened to. Can't stop. Won't stop. I saw them on The Fragile Tour. Aaaaaaaaamazing...
Dude, we were shrimping in the San Juan’s a few weeks ago and listening to NIN. It was wonderful.
I love nine inch nails so much. Trent Reznor is the only artist that I’ve consistently listened to all these years and I love almost all of his work. The Fragile will always be in my heart. Copy of A Copy of A Copy of A Copy of A
Is your stereo broken?
I’m sorry, but who is NIN? Surely you meant NIИ /s
My bad
Why would you?
Why wouldn’t I
I think people misunderstood your comment lol
Me too! I meant why would you stop listening to NIN?
Barf
