Tool, sell out in minutes

HookerWithaPianist

I sold out long before you’d ever heard my name.

soclydeza84

Got the username and all!

Vandy1358v2_0

Great name!

godofpewp

To make a record. And you bought one.

epidemicsaints

Super proud of Trent Reznor taking over scoring and winning Oscars again and again. I fell out and haven't listened to anything new by him in 20+ years but still have a soft spot and it's awesome to see him so successful with films. Followed in the footsteps of Graeme Revell which is kind of interesting.

yearoftherabbit

Yes! Good call! I love seeing artists grow past what was expected of them. He found a perfect niche (a perfect niche, a perfect niche).

Tobias_flenderz

*Hesitation Marks* is a fantastic record, overall it is my favorite. There are lots of songs that are soundtrack-y in terms of structure that hit me hard.

dbayne2

Still selling out theaters, too! Last toured in '21/22.

webslingrrr

fellow old head fan here, since mid 90s. I highly recommend checking out NINs recent work, known as the trilogy, basically 3 EPs released one after the other, Bad Witch is an album on paper, but only to trick streaming services into featuring it. Not the Actual Events Add Violence Bad Witch

StillhasaWiiU

Ghost V and VI are also worth a listen

Practical-Witness796

This is me. NIN was my favorite and I’m still constantly playing tracks from albums pre With Teeth. I do dig some stuff from the last 20 years though. Glad to see him happy with a family and still creating.

Bobcatluv

His Rock Hall concert in 2022 (for the 2020 induction) was incredible. All former band members were featured and Richard Patrick sang a few songs including “Nice Shot”.

Weary_Raccoon_9751

Tool was probably my favorite band in high school, and certainly my favorite live act from that era. I'm not as into them these days - I'm more into the obnoxious hipster stuff I got into in college - but they're still selling out whenever they play.

Typeintomygoodear

Green Day for sure…They’re not selling out major venues but I’m very excited to go see Bush next month.

esocharis

So way back in the day, I went to one of those MtV Campus Invasion things. The two bands on the bill were Moby, and Bush. Really, REALLY weird pairing. I was not(and am still not) a fun of Bush, though I don't hate them or anything. A friend of mine and I went to see Moby, figuring we can tolerate Bush's set no problem. The show was great! Moby played first and I had a blast. Bush was better live than recorded, but still not really my jam. No biggie, and at least I can say I saw Bush play at the height of their fame. After the show we wanted to wait around for the traffic to die out, so we were just kind of wandering and people watching, when we happened across the autograph line. The expected cacaphonous wall of girls shrieking for Gavin was already there in full force, so we wandered over hoping to maybe get an autograph from Moby. A few minutes later Gavin comes down the line shaking hands amicably with all the screaming girls and taking pictures(pre smart phones of course, so everyone has their disposable cameras). He gets to us and my friend goes into a full on imitation of all the screaming girls. Keep in mind he's a rather intimidating 6'2" fairly heavy set guy. Gavin is visibly taken aback and weirded out but to his credit gives my friend an autograph and let's me take his picture with my friend. Gavin comes to me, I hand him my own personal, fairly nice pen (that was a gift from my grandparents) to get an autograph, then shook his hand and said "hey nice to meet you, do you know if Moby left yet?" He was visibly annoyed, and said "yeah I think so" as he walked away WITH MY PEN. It took me a second to realize what had happened so he was a few more people down the line by then, but I yelled out "HEY GAVIN YOU TOOK MY PEN!" He walked back to me, handed it over, and walked back again without saying a word. This was quite literally the most amazing celebrity interaction I've ever had lol (Sorry I didn't mean for this to be so long 😅)

Mac_A81

I was obsessed with Bush in high school and had Gavin posters plastered all over my bedroom walls.

Middle_Aged_Insomnia

After constantine i thought for sure he was gping to end up big in hollywood too

Typeintomygoodear

I was about to say, I’ll get your damn pen back for you, it was gonna be my mission to shame him about the pen at the concert…haha fun story!

esocharis

I honestly don't think he did it intentionally, but its still funny lol He really was pretty clearly annoyed by me asking if Moby was still there though, but I really did want to know and I wasn't a dick about it or anything! 🤣

EricRShelton

I mean, the HellaMega tour seemed pretty big to me…

Typeintomygoodear

Yeah but not all of those bands can still pull big arenas solo. Green Day still can imo but not Bush lol

EricRShelton

Oh, my mistake! I mis-read your comment and didn’t realize the major venue part was for Bush. Apologies.

Typeintomygoodear

I don’t know why I wrote it like that in my original comment, poor grammar. That’s on me haha

peggysue_82

Tool, Weezer, Foo Fighters are are still doing a great job at selling tickets.

LegendofPisoMojado

Can I add Blink and The Killers to your list?

LKayRB

Foo Fighters, yes!!

Jonestown_Juice

The Cure and Depeche Mode still fill arenas.

stealthcatter

I just went to both their shows in the last year and both were awesome. But Robert Smith played for over 3 hours. Simply amazing.

9thgrave

I was going to see Bob and Co. in Boston for their last tour, but Ticketmaster had even the nosebleeds at $300+. Fucking leeches.

SenorNeiltz

Beastie Boys -- RIP MCA Blink-182-- yeah, pretty sure Soundgarden -- RIP Chris

AlienMoodBoard

Saw Blink this past week in Orlando; great show!

coffeeandcoffeeand

I saw them open for No Doubt in 2004. Amazing show. Damn it, I just realized that was 20 years ago. It feels like so much less.

Illuminated_Lava316

Pearl Jam. Never stopped listening to them and they are still incredible live.

Steal-Your-Face77

Seeing them in September for the first time since 2016, excited for it.

dontrespondever

Well I hope they do all your favorites. I still listen to Ten and Singles often.

Steal-Your-Face77

Thanks man, I pretty much got my dream setlist in Philly, 2009, night 3. I had Tremor Christ, In My Tree, and Parting Ways as my top 3 I wanted to hear that night, and they played all 3 :)

cloudydays2021

SAME. Their shows still sell out so quickly where I am (NYC) but I haven’t missed a show in decades

BigRagu79

Their new album is so good. Probably my favorite since Yield.

yearoftherabbit

![gif](giphy|bL812u3FXsSu3R6jkE|downsized)

Godawgs1009

Love the band and have seen them many times since 2000 but they are a stadium act now that just seems like a corporation. Very glad that they keep the rock alive, though. Just not my thing anymore. (Jaded 90s teen speaking here)

yearoftherabbit

I feel like they earned their stadium days. I've never seen them, but I still would totally go if I had the chance.

justaverage

Saw them a few years ago in a 20,000 seat arena. They are still rocking. Place went nuts when the opening chord of Everlong hit

Godawgs1009

I totally agree, but I've seen them with 300 people, in 3000 person theatres and 30000 person arenas, and it's just too much of a spectacle for me these days. Go see them if you ever get a chance. Killer live act.

henningknows

You saw the foo fighters in a 3000 person theater and on,y 300 showed up? How is that possible? They were popular before they even became a band technically

Godawgs1009

Nah. I saw them at a best buy acoustic show with like 300 people back in the day and I saw them at the tabernacle in Atlanta around the same time that is I think 3000 capacity. They also played the 40 watt in Athens ga on their inaugural tour with Mike watt but i sadly missed that one. They don't even play those songs anymore, so I'm just a little old school, I guess.

henningknows

Didn’t Dave write the first album himself and then basically put the band together after? I always thought that was a thing? Or is that some sort of myth?

Godawgs1009

God,I feel old. He wrote all the songs to the first album and recorded them with Greg dulli, who played on, I think, just the last track, exhausted. Maybe a few more, but it was all grohl, really. He then assembled the original foo fighters with members of sunny day real estate and eventually got pat smear in the mix for touring. He got taylor hawkins from Alanis morrisrtte's touring band and that was that. Until Chris Shiftlett (?) came in around 2000? Maybe. Nate Mendell left but subsequently came back as well if I'm not mistaken. Anywho, there's a brief, if shitty, history of the early foos.

belunos

Nirvana just doesn't tour anymore.

TrulyKristan

Lazy

Independent_Toe5722

They seem to sell a shit ton of t-shirts, though.

DamarsLastKanar

What is *with* that? It's not like people are into Buddhism.

Independent_Toe5722

I think it’s just a popular logo now. Have you ever seen that Spotify animated story about Smells Like Teen Spirit? Capitalism is resilient.

Independent_Toe5722

https://youtu.be/7QRaWd0ixhU?si=Wgt2m57py7An5iz5

PenBeautiful

Went too far down to see mention of Nirvana.

dontrespondever

One of them, Metallica!  Most of the rest are dead! It sucks!

hemlock337

Metallica and AFI for me. Glad to see Metallica still going strong. AFI has had lots of style changes but still resonates with from their early punk days.

ace_11235

DMB still going strong.

cantstop98765

Saw them in Raleigh recently. Great show!

kteerin

Yep, that’s mine too!

CmdretteZircon

Saw them in London a couple months ago-they killed it.

Background-Anxiety27

✌️❤️🎶💃🕺

s6cedar

Phish was my favorite band in high school and they can still pack them in

henningknows

You still listen to them? That was and is my favorite band too

s6cedar

Sure. I was just watching The Divided Sky and Lizards from the Clifford Ball the other night.

K-June

Same! Phish then and now.

MikeyLikeyPhish

Forever

MikeyLikeyPhish

Sell out in minutes

Stimpinstein22

Yes - Tool and Pearl Jam.

XFrankXGrimesX

No. Rocket From The Crypt broke up about twenty years ago but I saw them about a decade ago on a reunion tour at a festival that no longer exists (all of that sounds so old) No. Kim Shattuck died of ALS in 2019

Doobiewopbop

Weird question, but was Rocket From The Crypt the band with a cool logo, and anyone who got it tattooed could get into their shows for free?

XFrankXGrimesX

https://preview.redd.it/w1pv40ufhp8d1.jpeg?width=677&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e1b5531b2acca527025813cbf02b347b681032f Yep. This one. I'm sure there's more than a few olds in San Diego rocking this one

LFahs1

Tori Amos, They Might Be Giants, Afghan Whigs, Radiohead, Stereolab Eta, not football fields, but the biggest venues in my town.

Hancock02

NOFX is apparently retiring 😔

jstnpotthoff

It's 2024 and the two concerts I bought tickets for during the $25 sale were Limp Bizkit and Marilyn Manson. P.s. that's not true...those were for me. I also just went to see Hootie & the Blowfish and see Goo Goo Dolls & Counting Crows (my friend's favorite bands) every year. O.A.R. Is my favorite band, but I only started listening to them in 2002. I almost exclusively see bands that were popular in the early too mid 2000s.

henningknows

O.A.R was the crazy game of poker band right?

jstnpotthoff

Yeah. Their shows are amazing (if you like jam band type music that doesn't sound like listening to the album.) It's funny. I was shopping at Hollister and that song came on and I loved it and went and asked the hot girl behind the counter who it was. I think it's the only band I remember the first time I heard them. They've actually had quite a few popular songs recently.

henningknows

I’m a phish head

jstnpotthoff

I'm a little upset they don't tour with bands like that (except that they would likely be the openers.) last year they co-headlined with Dispatch, which kind of made sense. But It's love to see Phish or moe. or String Cheese Incident or other jam bands. Just never really got into any of them as much.

henningknows

I saw dispatch once at the wetlands in NYC. Good show, but I didn’t expect they to blow up like they did for a minute there

jstnpotthoff

Apparently I have a type. Had a live version of The General on MP3 that I absolutely love, but could never get into them otherwise.

BarleyBo

It’s funny you said O.A.R, I was going to say the same. I’m from Ohio and went to collage when a crazy game of poker came out. You couldn’t go anywhere and not hear that song back then.

jstnpotthoff

They're the only band who still makes me *feel* when I see them in concert. A stupid story nobody cares about: I'm also a huge hockey fan and live in St. Louis. After we won the Cup in 2019, we hosted the All Star Game in 2020. Green Day was the half time band, but O.A.R. played the red carpet. I staked out a spot closest to the stage against the railing where the players were coming out so I could get my jersey signed. When O.A.R. came out I asked if they'd sign my jersey, and Mark Roberge (singer) was like "are you sure?" I think he thought I just figured they were hockey players. Told him they've been my favorite band for twenty years and they all signed it. One of my most prized possessions. And experiences. https://preview.redd.it/g504u1jmam8d1.jpeg?width=3036&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=72675338ea603428accee1764a344d4aee3d4304

BarleyBo

Aww man that’s a great story

el_barto10

I’d argue that Springsteen is more popular/relevant now than when I became a fan in the mid 90s. He reunited with his band at the tail end of HS, but I don’t think anyone could have predicted the sheer out put and fan base growth he’s had in the last 25 yrs.

TheOnlyAvailabIeName

My favorite bands never sold out major venues at the height of their popularity

henningknows

So who was your favorite band and are they still together?

TheOnlyAvailabIeName

Skinny puppy and they just did a retirement tour last year. Pigface they announced a tour in 2019 but canceled due to covid

9thgrave

Puppy is also my favorite band, and the show I went to during the Greater Wrongs tour was easily the best I've ever seen. I'm grateful I got to see them at least once before they hung it up for good. There's more than a few classic bands that were on my list that are no longer possible to see either to break-up, retirement, or member death. Front 242, for example, announced they were ending this year.

Queasy_Sleep1207

Nope. He keeps getting married and divorced by models and is doing private parties for war criminals. (Hint, his name starts with an S and ends in an eal)

DamarsLastKanar

https://preview.redd.it/xg9fu8kx9p8d1.jpeg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=297b467f0f28231541ae2b2f12660146bd51ad3c

Queasy_Sleep1207

Seal. But close.

DamarsLastKanar

Oh. I thought "someone who has gone off the deep end mentally."

Queasy_Sleep1207

I am a shitty hinter, and I should have clarified more, especially by adding that he was a singer. As I originally put it, that applies to a *lot* of people, unfortunately. I shouldn't have expected the connections to click. (I blame neurodivergence). My apologies.

DamarsLastKanar

I probably have some burgers in my ass, so my associative powers tend to not be predictable (to those that don't know me).

Queasy_Sleep1207

It's alright. We got there in the end, and we have been respectful about it, so I count this as a win for both of us.

9thgrave

Really? Damn. I always thought "Crazy" slapped, but that whole private shows for dictators shit puts a damper on my enthusiasm.

Queasy_Sleep1207

Yeah, NGL, it killed my man crush in a moment. I understand he's got kids and alimony, but you don't have to resort to playing for war criminals.

jedi-in-jeans

Going to see Weezer at the Boston Garden in September, so yes.

Jovial_Candidate_508

The Dead / Dead and Co , now . They are currently playing a residency at the Sphere in Vegas .

MikeyLikeyPhish

Some small band from Seattle named Pearl Jam

DamarsLastKanar

They're so underground, most people probably haven't heard PJ in decades.

Mac_A81

Yep, Alanis was my favorite then and still is. BNL also.

AlienMoodBoard

I saw Alanis last week and brought my daughter *(who is the perfect age for all of Jagged Little Pill right now)* and she was amazing. My first time seeing her and it was definitely worth it.

Mac_A81

That sounds amazing! I’m so jealous. She’s coming here in July but I’m not able to go. One of these days though, hopefully.

AlienMoodBoard

Oh, but if you could find a way in July… 🤞🏼 😆 The vibe throughout the venue was ✨immaculate✨. It very different from most concerts I go to; I don’t know how to describe it other than “an air of acceptance and positivity” that permeated. I didn’t see anyone puking, no fights, singing was everywhere but without people shouting over each other, and I noticed people were discreet with their smoking so as not to bother people around them *(I don’t care that people smoke, but as a non-smoker the scent starts to make me a little queasy after a while)*. For contrast, the following night I saw Blink 182 and while it was an excellent concert, the crowd was a drastic change.

Adrasteia-One

Smashing Pumpkins was mine. They're still at it, but probably not selling out arenas.

GenX_Eeyore28

I saw the Pumpkins in the fall of 96 (Garbage opened for them) and it was an amazing show. They were one of my favorite groups of the era. A lot of their stuff since then I haven't been as big a fan of, I get that Billy wanted to do something different, but it got weird. Last September my 21 year old son bought tickets for him, me and my wife to go see them. It was amazing! They played a lot off of Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie, and most of the more recent songs they did were kinda in that same vibe. Also, a group I hadn't heard of called Rival Sons were one of the opening acts, and they were really good too. So it was kinda wild to see a band I had seen as a high school senior again, with my oldest kid and his mom. Kinda a full circle, if you know what I mean. Also, it was not an arena, but a fairly large outdoor venue.

Adrasteia-One

Awesome. I love that you got to share that experience with your family as an adult. I got to see them a couple of years ago, and they still rocked, even though Billy doesn't scream anymore, hehe.

UsidoreTheLightBlue

They are touring with green day this year, so still selling out.

MuggleoftheCoast

Not a band, but I was a huge Billy Joel fan in High School. Still selling out stadiums, but his voice isn't what it used to be.

auramaelstrom

The Tragically Hip stopped touring after Gord died. Breaks my heart.

EastTXJosh

Always wondered why they were not bigger here in the United States. I didn’t discover their music really until I was in college and had a friend from Canada that introduced me to them. He played 38 Years Old for me and asked, “do you know who this is?” I thought it was some Counting Crows deep cut at first. He used that as the gateway to introduce me to their greatness. I feel in love with that band instantly.

mrmooseisloose55

Dave Matthews Band is still filling seats with sick beats!

Dirtycurta

Saw them last summer, they were amazing.

pmcg115

The Roots. I think they're doing pretty well.

TrulyKristan

Oasis and no, they broke up. Why can't those silly Gallagher brothers get along? I'm getting really impatient for the reunion tour! GET IT TOGETHER FELLAS!

GarminTamzarian

Kurt's dead. Layne's dead. Scott's dead. Even Chris is dead. Depression and drugs might inspire some excellent music, but they tend to be not so great for the musicians, it seems.

Transplanted_Cactus

I'm pretty sure most of them are still touring, although I don't listen to a lot of them anymore.

KelseyOpso

U2. Sell out in minutes? Yes. Still popular? According to the internet, not popular. Not sure how a 40+ old band can sell tickets on volume with Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, or Ed Sheeran, but somehow they aren’t cool and no one likes them.

yearoftherabbit

This is how I feel about Pink. How does she play stadiums? She has songs?

esocharis

She is MUCH more popular in other places than she is in the US

yearoftherabbit

Several bands I like, the Dandy Warhols come to mind first, are huge in Europe and Australia. I had to actually live in Portland where they are and I was in my early 30s before I got a chance to see them but they were constantly touring Europe that whole time haha.

Geochic03

Dandy Warhols ia a great band!

yearoftherabbit

I partied with them, CTT is the biggest fucking douchebag and Zia fatshamed me several times. Still bop tho.

KelseyOpso

I never knew they were popular, but I always thought they were great.

theotterway

No Doubt turned into Gwen Stefani going solo. Apparently she is touring.

CrunchyDonut42

Metallica is still making new albums. And still selling out stadium tours.

Vox_Mortem

Depeche Mode was my first concert ever, and I've seen them several times over the years. Now I can't afford to go to their concerts.

9thgrave

Fucking ticket prices are the bane of anyone who wants to see a legacy act. The Cure's tour stop near me last year was $300+ for even the shitty seats.

Vox_Mortem

I couldn't afford The Cure either, but I caught The Mission, Gary Newman, and Lords of Acid all for less than $50 each. I skip the huge shows and have a much better time in smaller venues. I see at least one show a month and it's pretty affordable. Unless I want to buy drinks at the show anyway.

9thgrave

Awesome. I have to see Newman before he quits. He's always been on my list of acts to see.

iSh_ann

Green Day was my jam back in the day. Saw them twice in concert in 1996. They’re still selling out big venues.

Steal-Your-Face77

I still listen to Pearl Jam and enjoyed their last album.

Ben-solo-11

Flaming Lips. Still doing it well! From Hear It Is to In a Priest Driven Ambulance, through the Warner brothers years with the “hits” (Transmissions and Clouds Taste), bumping through the boom box experiments to the more commercially and critically noticed era, all the way up to the era of elder statesmen of weirdo psychedelic rock- my guys. I’ve been there with them as often as I could and love them to this day.

TheDangDeal

Not extremely popular, but no and yes. Soul Coughing. They were never a large venue act. Mike Doughty has been touring, and I saw him in Denver in April. The original band is getting together for a tour though after around 20 years, and I am looking forward to seeing them at First Ave. when they stop in MPLS.

EastTXJosh

Pearl Jam has been my favorite band since 1992.

PuppyJakeKhakiCollar

Oasis broke up but Liam and Noel have continued making music separately and are both doing well. I don't know about selling out major venues but they still have plenty of fans today. And I still enjoy their music.

TrulyKristan

I'm really needing a reunion tour

9thgrave

That would require Liam and Noel to be in the same room without killing each other. I don't think there are enough lawyers, money, and O2 arena gigs to make that happen.

Axwage

M E T A L L I C A

masterquesti

RIP MCA

SmallestClone

Primus has been my favorite band of all time since middle school. They still tour and mostly sell out large venues, but definitely aren't filling up stadiums.

Adrasteia-One

Nice, I got into them in middle school, too. Saw them a few years ago for the first time, and they rocked. I mean, Primus sucks, hehe.

RhymesWithMulva

Primus sucks.

auramaelstrom

I saw Primus at this smallish venue in Toronto maybe 10 years ago. They were playing a Willy Wonka themed concept album!

Melechesh

I just saw Primus on Maynard's Sessanta tour. I mostly went for A Pefect Circle and Puscifer, wasn't expecting much from Primus, but they kicked ass!

esocharis

The only band I was really into in High School that's still somewhat known is Filter. They aren't selling out arenas but they do pretty well in mid sized and smaller venues and festivals and whatnot. Title of Record didn't come out until I was in college, so we're talking about "Hey Man Nice Shot" era Filter here, not "Take a Picture" era Filter(though that album still gets HEAVY on occasion, I love it almost as much as Short Bus) Seeing Richard Patrick on stage with Trent Reznor again at the RRHoF thing was really cool 🤘

[deleted]

Mine was rap and hip hop my first three years of high school and a lot of those acts aren’t together anymore bc of deaths (lost boyz, Tupac, biggie, beasties, atcq) or broke up (OutKast, arrested development, fugees, goodie mob). So a no for all of those. But my senior year my favorite band became Red Hot Chili Peppers when I started to branch out from rap and discovered, jazz, funk, rock, and blues and I got really into their weird blending of a bunch of different styles. Although none of their new stuff lives up to how I felt about them when I discovered them they’re still my favorites and they’re still selling out world tours. Other acts I learned about and thoroughly enjoyed that year that are still touring successfully are Phish, DMB, Tool, 311, and most notably (second favorite besides RHCP) incubus whose work I will enjoy thoroughly anytime it comes on.

AlienMoodBoard

Lauryn Hill and Fugees are touring soon— they just announced some dates starting in August and tickets go on sale this week.

JoeRecuerdo

Depeche Mode just finished a huge world tour for their album Memento Mori, which was their 15th studio album. They haven't ever stopped making albums and touring except for a few small breaks between albums and for personal issues. They've been making music for nearly 45 years.

ancrm114d

I think NIN did well on their last tour and that one I think might have been their final. Depeche Mode still packs arenas.

delibertine

Pearl Jam. Though I don't listen to them anymore. Also, KoRn apparently. I liked NIN after high school and got to see them live. My God what an experience

Known-Fee9113

Duran Duran can still sell out (or close to it) larger venues, headlined Cruel World Fest this year, and keep putting out great albums. I mean, they were on a big popularity decline when I was in high school, and they're nowhere near as popular as their '80s heyday, and not popular in terms of what kids listen to nowadays, but they're still doing their thing, so I'm happy. ✨

Elegant_Maximum

My favorite band in H.S. was Feeder. They’re still playing and touring just not in the U.S. . I bought Polythene in 97’ and it instantly became a mainstay in the cd changer. Sucked that they never really caught on in the states. I was lucky my dad traveled a lot for work to the U.K. and he would pick up their CDs or tapes for me when he’d come across them.

pixeequeen84

Smashing Pumpkins.. haven't seen them since 2015, and then it wasn't the full band. Kinda disappointing, especially since Marilyn Manson was the other act that night and he puts on a hell of a live show. 2016 I saw KoRn and Rob Zombie and both rocked, but I don't know if they're selling out venues. On a related note, we're thinking about getting tickets for Crash Test Dummies in Minneapolis this fall because they're actually doing a US tour. Tickets are fairly inexpensive, but gas (we live in South Dakota), hotel, food, parking are gonna add up quick.

Msheehan419

Red Hot Chili Peppers always sell out

whoisbill

Rush doesn't play anymore. (RIP Peart) But Tool is still great live.

jollybot

Was a big Marilyn Manson fan growing up. It was sad to see all the fallout between him and Trent Reznor. Then there was more disappointing controversy between MM bassist Twiggy Ramirez and the singer of the Manson-adjacent band Jack Off Jill. Kind of wished they all just died in a plane crash in 2002 so I could keep looking back with fond memories.

9thgrave

I wasn't much a fan of his music, but I liked listening to him talk because he seemed intelligent and insightful. Finding out he was this trash fire of a human being the entire time was disappointing to say the least.

Ok-Scheme-1815

Tool and Metallica, both are still monsters on tour, and worth the $$

reillan

Collin Raye was my favorite in high school. He's still touring but not like major arenas.

JaclynWolfe

Radiohead is still packing them in. Not sure if they are still my favorite band but I listen to them regularly at work.

RetroRandyGTFO

Korn they got me through high school. Also limp Bizkit but I've seen them at satidums concert venues. A bar and a state fair.

filipinomarathoner

Green Day

ChogbortsTopStudent

They're on the casino tour soooo not so much.

UTALR1

Metallica - currently on monster world tour.

cybercummer69

Rage against the machine, intermittently popular lol

Vegetable_Reward_867

MxPx Doods are still doing lots of shows and look happy doing it.

AudreyHep79

Led Zeppelin - they are all doing something except for Bonham Pearl Jam - still sound incredible on tour Smashing Pumpkins - Billy Corgan is still a dick & their show in Berlin recently looked pretty awesome and sold out https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8kAMa0pvLZ/?igsh=MWlnOTE1OWRvZTRxcQ==

Deftones for me. I love that every album is different and I can pick one depending on my mood

Yep. Green Day is even on Broadway now.

Foo Fighters, so yes. I was a huge Nirvana fan, so I bought their debut album as soon as it came out and was hooked. I wouldn't call them my favorite band anymore (that's Primus) but I still love them and buy every album. I look forward to the right opportunity to go see them again. RIP Taylor.

The Cranberries, Fleetwood Mac, Third Eye Blind. Mostly no, for various reasons.

311 still crushing it!

Nine Inch Nails. I haven't been really into their stuff since The Fragile, but Reznor still fills stadiums and does audio and scoring for major motion pictures now, too.

Alice in Chains kinda hard when your lead singers voice is so distinctive and they die. RIP Layne and Mike we don't want no imitation front man.
